Sam Mendoza, at the body shop, explained it would be a very time consuming, expensive choice and offered cost effective alternatives which I hadn't considered but made perfect sense. Sam was friendly, easy to work with, has the customer in mind and did exactly what he said he would at a reasonable price for a dealership. I bought the truck in 2006 at Don McGill Katy, always had it serviced there and have never had a problem. They did a great job repainting and cleaning it up. Sam and his team should be congratulated. Not happy to do business with Toyota Of Katy and the cost of the repair. The bearings that were replaced cost the consumer $100 each at O'Reilly auto parts store. Total both sides is $200. The tool used to of the repair. The bearings that were replaced cost the consumer $100 each at O'Reilly auto parts store. Total both sides is $200. The tool used to pull the bearings is free to rent from most auto parts stores. The time necessary to replace both bearings is no more than 4 hours or 2 hours per side. If labor is $100 per hour then the total labor cost would be $400 So the total cost to buy and install 2 driveshaft bearings would be $600 Not $2000.00 The total public is being taken advantage of by the owner of Toyota Of Katy. This markup in price is over 3 times the actual cost. This exorbitant cost represents total "Greed" And is completely uncalled for. The owner of Toyota Of Katy should be ashamed of taking advantage of the public More
