All around pleasant and positive experience I don’t understand the negative reviews as all my experiences at this dealership over the years have been unfailingly excellent. I first bought a new Accord there in 1989 and picked out and negotiated pricing for 2 CRVs for my mother in law before buing this 2018 Clarity. On all cars I did my home work and dealer was willing to negotiate from invoice/holdback (not msrp) and let me decline all the extra dealer packages. I was also able to negotiate a Honda Care D80 extended warranty (8 yr/100,000m/0deductable/good at any Honda dealer) for less than half price when dealer matched an internet price I found on EV forum. And best of all, all this was done with Clay McDonald (sales) and Will Sandoval (financing) using absolutely no high pressure sales tactics and no “games”. This was like an internet sale but in person. I got treated with respect and got everything I wanted at the price I wanted which matched the best prices I could find after hours and hours on the internet and EV forums. And I got 1.9%/5yr financing through Honda, however I did have to ask for this promo financing I found on Honda’s website as it was not offered to me until I mentioned it. I can’t believe I prepared for all the psychological smarmy gamesmanship that so many dealers try to put you through only to find that it was’t necessary! Let me add that I have also delt with the paint and body shop once for an insurance repair and had a very positive experience there as well. Also, all the service reps I have dealt with over the years have also been honest, upfront, and courteous to me. I do a lot of maintenance myself and all the parts guys have been great, especially David Tannous. I know this may seem like I’m shilling for Don Jacobs but these has been my actual experiences. I get treated with respect, honesty and courtesy. What more could you ask for except maybe for the high labor rates (which are true at any dealer) to be lower. But then I have never been charged a diagnostic fee for any repair I have had done. So 5 stars for everybody! BTW, I absolutely love my new plug in Clarity. Hope the reliability matches all the other Honda’s I have owned. Full disclosure: I have no financial ties to this dealer, but I do go to church with David the parts guy’s parents. More

He was originally quoted $121, then called with a revised quote of $221.09 and when he came to pick up his vehicle, the total charge was $1,788.93, which he did NOT authorize. They totally took advantage of a young international student. "If any aspect of your visit cannot be rated as excellent, please call our service manager, Jeff Smith..." Well we did that to no avail... ended up having to pay $1,325 (after they suggested WE pay the bill for our friend.) After doing business there for almost 40 years, we will never step foot on the property again. Samples of unnecessary maintenance and price gouging include: front brake pads & rotors: $393.99; replace brake fluid and flush lines, $84.25; replaced in-cabin air filter (that had already been replaced a year ago) $56.53; replaced front wiper blades $80 (are you kidding me?); replace antifreeze, and just check thermostat and fan operation $90.61; replace transmission fluid $93.61; "valve adjustment" $133.99; replace spark plugs (apparently they replaced 4 plugs) $137.42; replaced serpentine belt $148.99. His car was having no problems, none of these repairs were requested. He simply wanted to be able to have a working key. After meeting with the manager, the bill was reduced only 25%. Our friend still doesn't have a key that will unlock his door and start the engine; he has to use two keys for this. Totally unacceptable customer service - totally untrustworthy business. More

Calls were made to see if Honda Corp. would honor the warranty with 700 miles over, of course, they would not. The service advisor was very kind and professional. None of what happened there had any reflection on him. ( I guarantee you If it had been Toyota it would be covered.) So then to replace it at Don Jacobs it was going to cost $950 plus $120 diagnostic fee, Really?? Don't think so. I will never go back and will not own another Honda. I found an excellent mechanic and paid less than half what DJ wanted. More
Do not have your vehicle serviced here! We took our Honda Accord in for a battery terminal recall about 2 months ago. After making the appointment and taking it to them, they said the part to fix it wasn’t in. WHAT!! So after wasted time, they reschulded it. As we were there they brought it to our attention that the car needed brakes. The brakes were fine and still are today. So today my wife takes it back for the recall and they come back with a list of things that need to be done. (Brake fluid, trans fluid, cabin filter, alignment). (Brakes weren’t mentioned this time) Must have fixed themselves. So The tech told her after looking, (LOOKING) at the brake fluid and trans fluid it needed to be changed. At our shop at work fluids are anylyzed not just looked at. I hope Don Jacobs has better technology than that. We bought this car with 36,000 miles on it, those fluid changes were scheduled at 30,000 miles. The car has about 50,000 on it now. Those fluid changes would have been done previously since it was a leased car from Honda at the 30,000 mile mark! After I had got in touch with the tech and was treated rudely, I made him aware that the conversation was recorded, and his attitude changed immediately. I spoke with his supervisor and the supervisor above him and hung up feeling like they really don’t care. I will not deal with Don Jacobs again. More
The service department was horrible! They charged 90 bucks for an alignment, adjusted nothing, then told me there was no way to adjust the camber on Hondas. Service Our service experience for the past 2 visits-- have been terrible!! I drove over 130 miles for my appt. I was promised updates. I did not receive any update.s After returning in rental, I inquired about my car I was told that the vehicle setting outside was not mine and that there were multiple cars on the lot that looked like my car. We looked in the car-- I guess the others had our candy in them too!! When I said that you have not even taken our car in, the tech admitted to this fact. the service mgr. offered to make this right-- yeah let us wait longer. Forget it!! We left--- no further new car purchase will be made at this dealership and certainly no service appointments. There are other Honda dealers!!!!!!! More

I asked my service agent Kenny to look into why the lights on my rev indicator weren't working and to give me a quote for getting it fixed. Kenny told me that Honda Civic Si's do not have such a feature. He even said he asked his supervisor and he agreed. He was unwilling to look into it any further and kept giving me answers such as "I'm not sure. I don't know." He expressed zero willingness to help and to actually bring business to the service center. I asked to be transffered to someone else and he refused and told me that "they would just tell me the same thing." He spoke to me like I was stupid and wasting his time. Very frustrating to take my Honda to the only Honda dealer in town and actually get treated like an idiot, especially after bringing them my business. I suppose I will have to take my Hondas over to Quantrell or Paul Miller from now on. Edit: 08-08-17 The Service Director has responded and offered to work towards a resolution. More

Not organized, service was "pass the buck mentality". Scheduled appointment to have truck worked on and made THEM AWARE that my truck would be dropped off via tow truck. I called later after appointment time and they hadn't even started on my truck. They said they wondered whose truck that was dropped off in the parking lot. I said I had an appointment and why wouldn't you call to verify? I guess we could start doing that was their response. I was quoted initially $800 for an alternator repair. They came back with $910 nothing extra just a more expensive quote. When I asked about the difference they said diagnostics. I said that was free! Beside I told you it was an alternator that was bad. Don't give me a different price over a quote if nothing changed. We are looking to trade this vehicle in soon. We will be driving 2.5 hours away to Gary force Honda in Bowling green Ky. They treat us like Gold! Ps had Car towed to Midas and was charged $600. More

They gave me the usual 'we will have to keep it and run diagnostics' for way too much money. They then informed me of ONE recall and said I could bring it in whenever I could make an appointment. I contacted Honda regarding the initial concern and was informed of TWO MORE recalls that were more serious that then one Don Jacobs had mentioned. Honda asked me if DJ had let me know that absolutely no one should be riding in the passenger seats of my cars due to the recalled parts leading to fatalities. DJ not only didn't tell me about those two recalls, but they did not seem to have any concern for my family's wellbeing. When I called back to inquire about this, they said they were not allowed to "scare you like Honda can." This seemed very odd to me. They also kept saying that it was on me because I should have scheduled the recalls to be fixed when I got the letters in the mail...which magically came in the mail AFTER I contacted DJ and Honda. I was less than impressed with management's response to my situation and extremely disappointed in the service department's utter lack of concern for my family's lives. I will not be returning there for service or sales. More
