DO NOT BUY A USED VEHICLE FROM Don Jackson Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM in Union City!! My wife and I spent months trying to find an affordable vehicle for me to drive to work each day. We came across a listi Jeep RAM in Union City!! My wife and I spent months trying to find an affordable vehicle for me to drive to work each day. We came across a listing for a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee and a few other vehicles we wanted to look at from Don Jackson. It was after hours when we agreed on a price for the Jeep and my loan servicer was not available to approve the loan. They would not hold the car for us for any amount of time, so we had to purchase with credit to be refunded after the loan went through. Which they said would be no problem to do. This is when things became a nightmare. After the loan was approved and the dealership accepted the loan amount, they credited back to the credit card the wrong amount and still owed us over $2,000. For weeks I attempted to speak with anyone to correct this issue with no success and kept being told no one was available and that it was being resolved. I left many messages with no response. After a month of this I finally called our loan servicer who eventually called the dealership to fix the situation. After that they did finally refund the money to us. After only driving about 800 miles in the Jeep since the purchase, it was leaking power steering and I noticed the coolant kept running low, so I had it looked at by a mechanic. The first mechanic said it was just the power steering pump needing to be replaced. I took it to another mechanic who told me that the coolant was leaking into the oil, which was most likely a blown head gasket. That mechanic did not do engine work so I took it to a third mechanic who did. They informed me that the whole engine would need to be replaced at a cost around $3k to $4k. From there I called the Don Jackson dealership to see if they would take a look at it and if they would do anything to help. Well, after weeks of trying to once again get someone on the phone to talk to (the dealership is over an hour drive from where I live) I was finally told that they would look at the Jeep and would have a tow truck pick it up. I waited a week and no tow truck ever showed up. I attempted to reach management again for a few days with no luck. Finally, I called every 30 minutes asking for the person I had previously talked to from 9am to 4:30pm. At last the receptionist told me that (person in management) told her to tell me that they have been unable to contact the tow truck for pick up. I waited for another week, still without a car to get to work, my wife driving an extra 30 minutes to take me to work every morning and every days end. After yet another failed attempt to get any answers from management, I left a message saying that I would take care of it myself. I took it to a fourth mechanic who said they could make the repair for around $1k. After disassembling the motor the head ended up having a 6 inch crack in it (which I was shown) and had to be replace for an additional $650. All that with the power steering also needing fixed, I had to spend an additional $2,000 before I could even use the car since purchasing from the Don Jackson Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM dealership. Then yesterday, almost a full month after they said they would look at it I received a call from the person in management I spoke with before asking me what was going on with the Jeep. UNBELIEVABLE. I fully believe they never were going to do anything, which they were not obligated to, but they could have at least been honest about leaving me high and dry with a busted vehicle. I have never dealt with such awful customer service in my life. I would never recommend this dealership to any friends, family, coworkers, neighbors, enemies, anyone. I received 3 months of headache and more debt because of the poor service this supposedly upstanding dealership provided. Do yourself a huge favor and go elsewhere for your used car purchase. I hope no one goes through what I have had to for the past 3 months. More

Purchased many, many vehicles in the past and have never had an experience like this one. Purchased from out-of-state. Basically, when picking up vehicle they handed the keys to me and that was it. No going had an experience like this one. Purchased from out-of-state. Basically, when picking up vehicle they handed the keys to me and that was it. No going over the vehicle to explain the features...how anything worked...nothing. Just sent me on my way. (in/out in 10 mins)The business/sales mgr. and/or the finance mgr. did not show their faces and obviously did not want to introduce themselves. This is a first...Recomendation get everything that is included in WRITING. I had an item included in the deal and they said to have another dealer at home install it and they will pay for it. I asked why they could not install and said it would take a week or more to get it in. I believed that. When having item installed at home dealer they ordered it and had it in 2 DAYS.(Took 2 weeks and several calls from myself to get it paid for and before it could be ordered and installed.(pre-pay was necessary on item) Also, a defective item was obvious on the vehicle. My home dealership stated he would have never let the vehicle go with this problem. It should have never passed PDI.(pre-delivery inspection at the selling dealer and should have been taken care of). All in all item was installed and defective item is being covered under warranty. A plus side to this was the price I paid for the new vehicle.... More
I have used Don Jackson since 1996 for new cars and service. I had my car serviced and asked for it to be thoroughly checked for an intended vacacation. The Service guy asked if I wanted the battery cl service. I had my car serviced and asked for it to be thoroughly checked for an intended vacacation. The Service guy asked if I wanted the battery cleaned and checked for $ 49-50 charge. I said yes. New brakes were suggested and I agreed, something to clean out the deposits was suggested and I agreed. A 5-600 dollar bill but I felt the car would be road worthy. A week's vacation and I started to come home and the car would not start. A dead, and DRY battery was found to be the problem. How does a battery get dry in 3 weeks after being serviced??? But that was only the beginning. When I arrived at Don Jackson, I got a run around, as if It was my fault the battery was dry. It took a quart of distilled water to fill it up because I put it in there. I never once got an apology, or a " I have no idea what happened but I am so sorry you had trouble." No just a new battery at top price, no cut or discount for being a 16 year customer and left stranded on the road. I called to talk to the manager/owner/CEO/ whatever about the whole process. and Derek Jackson was not in so I left my number for him to call. Guess what, I am still waiting since May 2012. This lack of customer service has made me lose all confidence in the service department and my new vehicle was bought at another dealership and will be serviced at anothet dealership. I do not know what I will find at the new dealership, but I KNOW what I have had. I am so disappointed in Don Jackson Chrysler. More

My husband and I purchased a used T&C here in March 2011 and could not have had a more pleasant experience. I had found them online as they had a large inventory of used T&C that seemed to fit our need 2011 and could not have had a more pleasant experience. I had found them online as they had a large inventory of used T&C that seemed to fit our need. Our salesman was Dustin and he took up so much time with us in checking out all the vehicles and finally helping us to decide on the one we purchased. We ended up with a vehicle that was fully loaded with all the bells and whistles and were very pleasantly surprised at the good price we were quoted. We have told everyone that is interested in a car, that they should go to Don Jackson to purchase their vehicle. DJ helped to arrange the financing. When we went back for oil changes, Dustin and DJ have always greeted us like old friends and taken time to talk with us. In October, my husband passed away and today I had to take the car in for service. After discussing some service needs I had, I became emotional and started crying. I did not want to sit in the regular waiting room while crying to I sought Dustin out who had me come sit in his office until I was okay. I discussed some of my concerns with him and he immediately went to the service department and took care of everything I needed done. He treats his customers the way he would want to be treated. I would recommend this dealer and this salesperson to anyone looking for a vehicle. As a woman who does not know the first thing about cars, I feel that Dustin will be available to make sure I get only the service I need. More
