Took my car in for an oil change, leaking tire, and brakes squeeking, was then called and told I needed all new brakes, pads and rotors as well as new tires. The cost for only the brakes, pads and rot brakes squeeking, was then called and told I needed all new brakes, pads and rotors as well as new tires. The cost for only the brakes, pads and rotors was right at $1000. I told them not to do it but asked that they just fix the leak in my tire. They told me they could not do that until I got new tires and an alignment. After having another mechanic look at my car, it in no way needed rotors, could use some pads, and the tire was fixed. I think they were trying to gouge me and will not be going back! I also have a friend that is an 80 year old woman that went to Don Franklin and she was made to believe that her tires were dry rotted so bad that she may not make it home and got her for four new tires that she have gotten much cheaper elsewhere and they were not at a point of not getting her home as her son and husband had just recently checked the tires, needless to say her family was very upset that they would do that to an 80 year old woman. Not a happy customer!! More
Beware of price gouging during a pandemic on HD trucks. We’ve been looking for a dually and due to the chip shortage you had to act fast. We missed a GMC Denali 3500 HD that we wanted because we paused for a day and it sold. Both Courtesy GMC and Oxmoor FORD warned us to watch other dealers taking advantage of chip shortage by raising MSRP. Courtesy did not which we beat ourselves up for not immediately purchasing theirs. Unfortunately Don Franklin is one of those dealers that has decided to take advantage. Don Franklin claims to be a Christian but he clearly skips over the part in the Bible regarding greed. We are fine paying MSRP for a demanding vehicle but to add on an extra $2,000 is wrong. Thank you to the owners of Courtesy GMC and Oxmoor Ford for not being like Don Franklin. We did deal with some very nice people there. To name a few...April, Whitney, Brandy and Shawn were all very nice professional staff. The manager David Brown tried to convince us it was a GM thing regarding raising the price increase over value which if that was the case other GM dealers would be doing it and they are not so it clearly is a Don Franklin decision. Other than that everyone else seemed like good people. Loved the finance guy we dealt with (didn’t get his name) In summary my recommendation would be to find your vehicle at another dealership if possible. If it’s not available and they have what you want, life’s too short to let a greedy man get in your way. Get what you want and enjoy! In the end they got a check from me for over $85,000 but it was worth my husband getting exactly what he wanted. I’m sure Don Franklin is laughing all the way to the bank and I’m okay with that because he has to live with himself taking advantage of people during a pandemic not me. More
