We were traveling to St Louis from Chicago to attend a funeral when our check engine light came on around Springfield. We brought our car to this dealer late Thursday afternoon and Jim Staub did a diagnos funeral when our check engine light came on around Springfield. He sqeezed us in for service on Friday even though they were jammed because it would have been unsafe for us to return to Chicago without repairs. Had they not done so we would have been stuck in St Louis for three more days, paying for a hotel. The repair wasn't cheap but we are grateful for the flexibility in helping us out and we got home safe and sound. More

On Friday October 2, 2020 Pam Heitz the manager of the service department was very disrespectful to my concerns of my vehicle. 1 Example is she told me that Don Brown Chevrolet can not fix on my vehicle t service department was very disrespectful to my concerns of my vehicle. 1 Example is she told me that Don Brown Chevrolet can not fix on my vehicle they which is a Nissan Maxima, and I purchased my vehicle from Don Brown. They told me to take it to Nissan and Nissan told me to bring it back to them because my windows are not covered in my warranty. So I did that after sitting there for hours, she came back and said I was never that for my windows I was there to get service to my brakes which is not true. So I asked Pam Heitz to show me paperwork when I came her for my brakes, she couldn’t show me. So then I asked her for all service paperwork before and after I purchased my vehicle. She brought me 3 sheets of paper. Pam Heitz denied of paperwork of which I was entitled to. She also told me that if my credit was good enough that the bank would have gave me and extended warranty on my vehicle and when I purchased my vehicle I only had 30,000 plus miles on my vehicle which means I was still within my vehicle warranty. I am making this review because Pam Heitz denied me of paperwork and also told me to get off there property for concerns with my vehicle that I purchased from their lot. I will no longer refer people to Don Brown. Your service manager is rude and inconsiderate of others and their money spent. oh must I not forget Dennis in service also lied and said that he only fixed one window on my vehicle which was the driver remember Pam Heitz said I was never there for my windows. When I took it to Nissan they said he possibly screwed up my windows even more by putting silicone in between the rubber of the windows.. And my windows still is not working properly. I will be contacting the attorney general on this matter as well. More

SafeGuard I scheduled an appointment to have tires and wheels changed that was covered under SafeGuard insurance, which was under warranty with my vehicle. Bad service but I did get free dent in my truck! After a month of trying to call Pam to resolve this and only getting her full voicemail, I decided to just leave a review. I have only had my truck in After a month of trying to call Pam to resolve this and only getting her full voicemail, I decided to just leave a review. I have only had my truck in for service twice since owning it for 18 months. The second time was this past Dec when I took it in for an oil change and some other warranty work. So they did the oil change and also resolved the low coolant light which ended up requiring that the coolant tank to be replaced. My issue was with several other items that were handled poorly. First, I told them that I had changed the fuel filter myself and asked them if they could explain how I could reset the filter life and they said it HAD to be hooked up to their computer in order to reset it. I declined and after a quick search online found out that it's simple to reset and does not require to dealers computers to do it. Secondly I told them that I knew there was a known dealer fix for my backup camera to reduce the brightness at night. After the truck was there they updated me and told me that my truck didn't have the right RPO for the update to fix. I have a friend out of state that is a tech at another GM dealership, I gave him my VIN and he said that my truck was eligible for the update. Only after I presented this info to the dealer did they come back and tell me I was right and corrected the issue. Next, I told them that I was starting to experience what is known as the "Chevy shake" which is a huge problem with these trucks when driving at around 65 and above MPH. They drove the truck and said that no vibration was present. There are several bulletins addressing this and I was surprised that I just received a simple, "nothing was found", explanation. While driving the truck home, it did the exact same thing again. The other two issues weren't found until a couple of days after I had the truck back but I popped the hood to add DEF and noticed two things, one was the plastic radiator cover was all scratched up. This was the area where the coolant tank was replaced and you could tell where something had been set on top of the cover because the dust had been wiped of of that area. I also found a small dent near the top of the driver's side fender (too high for a door ding) and while this wasn't the same side as the coolant tank, the dent was not there when I took the truck in. After picking it up I drove it home and it sat there until the day I noticed the damage. Being a small business owner myself, I cannot explain how disappointed I am with the service department at Don Brown and that I would never treat my customers this way. And on top of the issues I listed above, to then not be able to reach someone to try and resolve the issues was even more disheartening. I have no problem removing my review if I can at least have these issues resolved. But as it stands right now, I cannot in good faith recommend Don Brown's service department. More
