This dealership couldn’t give less of a crap after the sale. Our $60,000 2019 XC60 was in the shop for the same electronic issue five times. Every single time that we made an appointment they said there w sale. Our $60,000 2019 XC60 was in the shop for the same electronic issue five times. Every single time that we made an appointment they said there would be a loaner for us. And every single time they failed and there was no loaner. We still have not had it repaired, because they are awful mechanics. We are unable to lock the vehicle so we have to take everything out of it when we travel to a public parking area. I would drive three hours away to get this thing repaired rather than waste my time with this bunch of woodchucks. More
Poor customer service! Pricing is astronomical and Service Appointment Manager has lied about pricing to hook you in, then the rel price shows up on the bill! Very nice dealership before the sale, understanding of my extreme preference to be in loop at all aspects and text message as best method of communication. I have bought 4 new cars since 2017 for me and my family, and all transactions were done by text, before and after dealership visit. Title/tags issue developed problems. I was given late information that I needed to have emissions test performed, delaying tags. Dealership received replacement temp tags 3 days before expiration, neglected to inform me that they were available and they fed-exed them to me, at a time that was inconvenient. Only after 4 transfers via phone call (remember that I don't like to use telephone?), informed that they can just email me replacements. So, sales seemed good, but follow through not so much. I bought an older used car; I'd be very wary of acceptable follow up with purchase of expensive new car. Update 1: I just got informed, that somehow, they transferred tags from my 2nd car, which was not a part of the transaction and I never them any information. So now, I have 2 registrations on my Mercury, no legal tags on my 2nd car (resulting in not having the legal ability to use it), and all they can say is, "Wait a few days". And, the Sales Manager Matthew Young has the tone that it is my fault. Yeah, not meeting the standards of a luxury dealership. More

I was met with Brandon Gray, who after being told I only want to look, and he introduced me to the car I came to look at. After going back 2 more times and emailing back and forth with him, I bought a Soul Red Mazda3. He and his brother the finance guy, did what they could to provide what I needed for the trade in of my old car and used a lower TrueCar price to give me the deal I needed to make it work. No fuss no hassle. They even took my obsession with no swill marks from bad rags seriously and even had the detailer do the CD catch test with the detailing rags to ensure my car would be washed "correctly". The only bad thing was the 2 hour wait to get my car after the deal was done, but at least they took care of the car. More
They avoid issues I would give this dealership negative stars if I could. I purchased a brand new Volvo S60 back in October 2015 and had it services at Don Beyer until I would give this dealership negative stars if I could. I purchased a brand new Volvo S60 back in October 2015 and had it services at Don Beyer until the past year. During that time, I took the car in multiple times for a low oil light and they told me it was "normal" and just kept doing software updates. The oil light kept returning and they kept telling me enough oil wasn't being put into the car for the oil change (that they did). I moved and took the car to Fairfax Volvo. They said the car needed new pistons. The car just had over 50,000 miles! Since then, I have had new pistons, new coil and new spark plugs. The car wouldn't start this morning. This was the 4th car I bought and had serviced at Don Beyer and every one of them have had issues. If they had identified the piston issue when I first took it in, the car would have been declared a lemon. I have had it in the shop 7 times in the past 3 months. Don Beyer should be ashamed to have his name on this dealership and Volvo should stand behind their cars, but neither do. Please don't buy a Volvo and please don't shop at Don Beyer. More
Best experience ever, at a dealership I usually don't submit reviews, but here was one dealership where I was completely blown away by the entire experience. Good service starts with good I usually don't submit reviews, but here was one dealership where I was completely blown away by the entire experience. Good service starts with good management and you can see the results in every aspect of a business. In most of my interactions at car dealers over 40 years, I have often felt a certain pretentiousness in what they were calling "customer service." But I found something different at Don Beyer in Winchester, VA. The real thing. Their attitude: "Let's stop and listen to what the customer is really saying, and then we'll go from there." I'll be back. More
positive people in all areas of the dealership At this point, my contact is thru the service department and my service rep is Kelly, who is outstanding as a representative of the dealer. I was purchasing a used Volvo from another dealer and took it to Don Beyer to have it checked before I purchased it. They gave me a list of all the things that were wrong. I felt good purchasing it aft took it to Don Beyer to have it checked before I purchased it. They gave me a list of all the things that were wrong. I felt good purchasing it after knowing what was wrong. It was an extensive list and I started getting the work done a little at a time. The seat memory switch had the #1 button stuck but that was okay because the seat still was adjustable for my wife and I. Other things started going wrong with the electrical items. Fitz told me they were possibly caused by the stuck button on the switch. My SRS air bag warning appeared, my lowbeam headlight was on and off intermittent, my driverside heat worked intermittently also. I went back to Fitz to get the switch replaced and he also replaced both headlamp bulbs. I asked him about the heat and he told me the module would need to be replaced at a cost of approx $1500. When I left the shop the airbag warning came on so I returned and asked about it. His friendlyness started to diminish. SO I left and the next day I took the car to xxxx's Volvo in Greencastle PA. I Asked them to check the airbag warning. They ran the codes and came up with a massive amount of codes so the checked the battery and found it to be very low. They replaced the battery and the warning lights went out, the heater started working and my problems were solved. I phoned Fitz and he was not very nice. He said they had a page full of codes and that I never told them I had trouble starting the car - I didn't tell xxxx's I had problems starting the car but his servicemen were alert enough to see that all those codes had to be caused by something. They replaced the battery and the other things were fixed. The thing that really upset me was when I originally brought the car to Beyer's one of the items on the last that needed repairs was a leaking power steering pump at the cost of $1100. When I came back to have the seat switch replaced I told Fitz something was leaking and to check and see if the power steering pump had gotten worse. They checked and said it was the oil filter gasket that was leaking so they replaced it. Then he said there is nothing wrong with the power steering pump. That made me think about the original list of needed repairs needed. Were the $2,000 + repairs that I had done necessary? As long as I was smiling and paying for repairs Fitz was happy, when I questioned him his attitude totally changed I don't believe I will ever return to Don Beyer Volvo of Winchester VA. Don Beyer Volvo of Winchester, and especially Christa Joy Nuss in the Used Car Department, were unbelievably helpful in the purchase of my used Subaru Outback. When I began my search for a used vehicle, Nuss in the Used Car Department, were unbelievably helpful in the purchase of my used Subaru Outback. When I began my search for a used vehicle, I knew I was in the market for a 2004-2007 Outback Limited with less than 100K miles. The vehicle at Don Beyer was one of 4 I considered. Despite the fact that the dealership was more than 2 hours drive from my home, Christa treated me as a serious potential customer from our first conversation. Her representation of the car's exceptional condition was entirely accurate. She worked with my schedule to ensure I would have an opportunity to test drive the car, and even agreed to "meet me halfway" - bringing the car part way to my location to enable me to drive the car, and finalize the sale, without having to go all the way from DC to the dealership in Winchester. Paperwork, including titling and tags for Maryland, were handled seamlessly, promptly, and with good communication at every step in the process. A positive experience at every turn. I am pleased to recommend Christa, and the Don Beyer family of dealerships, to friends. More
