We picked up our new Honda CR-V EX-L today. Thank you to Andy and to Travis for their assistance. As with all of our previous purchases from Don Ayres Honda, and we have purchased many vehicles since 1978, Andy and to Travis for their assistance. This was not the car buying experience I was expecting, it was so much worse. The more I think about it the more upset I get. I want to believe had a different sales person been involved the experience it was so much worse. The more I think about it the more upset I get. I want to believe had a different sales person been involved the experience would have been much different. I had narrowed my search down to two cars, both town and countries. I scheduled a test drive and out of courtesy to my husband asked him to join me for the test drive. Jeff Gilmore, our sales man directed every question to my husband and not me. When my husband left after the test drive Jeff spent more time wondering when my husband was coming back then communicating with me. I was not excited about the final sale price and Jeff’s answer was “it costs more for the dealership to replace the car”. (that should not have a connection to how much the car I’m buying costs). My trade in value was a little low but still fair. It took almost two hours to figure out that the only reason my husband’s signature was needed was because they listed his name first (as primary) on the paperwork and then even more time to convince Jeff and the finance department I was already pre-approved and all they had to do was email the sales agreement to my lender. Summary, if you are a female making car buying decision for yourself walk away when the sales person starts asking for the man in your life. Side note my in-laws purchased a C-RV from Jake at the same dealership the day before and had no issues and came away feeling like they got a good deal. More
