Great Service Manager My children and I were traveling cross country while my husband who is in the military was deployed overseas. We were visiting my father and were located near Dodd's Yorktown store for a few weeks. I was experiencing some issues with our propane and I called to make an appointment. Joey informed me they had about a month long wait for service appointments but that he wanted to us to come in immediately. We came up and he looked over our entire system giving us pointers along the way. He told us he wouldn't be able to sleep at night sending me and the kids back on the road thinking we had a dangerous gas leak. I was so impressed that he took time out of his very busy day and got us in right away to make sure my children and I were safe. He also thanked us for the sacrifice our family makes while my husband is serving overseas. It was such a pleasure to experience that type of kindness. You can tell this company hires good people and I highly recommend them to anyone who has RV needs. Thanks again for your "above and beyond" customer service! More

Knew our RV had some issues,but we have never imagined things had gotten this bad from never getting fixed properly by our other dealers who have worked on it. Service dept did a proper respected full inspection which we will always be appreciated of! Joey the manager as well as Melissa were the two employees we had the greatest interaction with. Although we had huge expectations of Columbus, and have been nothing but dissapointed, until our time with Dodd. Though our experience with Dodd, we feel we have finally been heard as a customer. We will always be thankful for huge help we received from Dodd. Though dealing with these issues for almost a whole year and every dealer simply disregarding our needs,we now have happier than we have ever been since owning this unit. Joey the manager exceeded all of our expectation required of someone in a customer service dept. Our RV is finally in the fully function mode and we couldn't be happier. We contacted Scott Hudgins and told him what was going on and he contacted Joey in service. We explained to him that we were taking another trip to NY soon and needed to have it checked out. He was so nice to be able to get us in without a appointment to take a look at it. Kept it for a couple of days and explained to us that everything was fine and that they felt like the problem was at Jellystone Luray, VA because he had been cooling our camper for a couple of days and it definitely wasn't tripping the breaker. We absolutely love the staff at Dodd from the person that greets you at the door, sales, financing and last but not least the service department. We have had nothing but a wonderful experience with everyone at Dodd in Yorktown. They make us feel like we are part of the family when we go in there. More
Best Service Ever We were having an electrical problem in our fifth wheel and stopped in for assistance. While making an appointment, Joey over heard our conversation. We were having an electrical problem in our fifth wheel and stopped in for assistance. While making an appointment, Joey over heard our conversation. He offered to take a quick look right there in the parking lot. In less than one minute he located the problem and called for the part. He installed the part in less than ten minutes and we were on our way. We have never received this kind of A1 service anywhere. You can't ask for a better group of people! Thank you Joey for going above and beyond. You have earned our respect and gained a loyal customer for Dodd RV of the Peninsula. More

We did troubleshot over the phone. I was told to come in early the next morning and he was waiting for me. Aided by Ricky and Chief they quickly found the problem and replaced the pump. The last thing Joey said to me was call him and let him know everything was still ok on my trip. The customer service that I received was the best and withput hesitation I would recommend the service dept. More
Excellence Sales and Service I am very late in posting this, but I really want to share my experience. I bought my camper from Scott Hudgins in 2011. I looked for almost three yea I am very late in posting this, but I really want to share my experience. I bought my camper from Scott Hudgins in 2011. I looked for almost three years before finally sellling my popup and moving into a travel trailer. Scott was so patient and I never felt pressured. I looked at many campers and went to many shows. When I finally found the right camper and was ready financially, Scott was there and made the whole process very easy! A wonderful no pressure experience! Fast forward 3 years in 2014, I am camping at Newport News park and when packing up and hooking up the camper, I raised my jack too far and could not hitch up. My tongue jack broke. Nervous and exhausted, Joey and Pete from the service department came to my rescue at the campsite and replaced my tongue jack! What a super group of people and service! Travel Trailer Purchase My wife and I have been looking to buy a camper for about 3 years and until we visited Dodd RV (Peninsula) we had not found a dealer (or Camper) we we My wife and I have been looking to buy a camper for about 3 years and until we visited Dodd RV (Peninsula) we had not found a dealer (or Camper) we were willing to commit to. Suffice it to say, we have visited many dealers and looked at to many campers to count over that time frame. Our experience started on a rainy day (thunder and lighting) and the sales person (Tina Dew) bravely showed us many campers with a umbrella in her hand trying to keep my wife and my grandson from the rain. I quickly decided we should schedule another visit, which Tina did via email that same day. She had several Travel Trailers ready for us to look at and was very patient with us as we bounced back and forth between campers, often times going back to compare one that we just looked at with our number one and number 2 picks. In the end, we decided on a Tracer Executive 2640RLS. Then the work started. Micheal, Arnold, Gene, Pete and Tom were all ready for us to show up. All loan paper work was ready, the parts department rep walked us through the store and recommended the things we really needed, not what we thought we needed and the Service department had our trailer all hooked up and ready for a very extensive walk through after all the "Other Stuff" was taken care of. Throughout the whole process, Tina continued to check in on us making sure we had cold drinks and anything else we needed to make the process as enjoyable (and that is what it was). I will highly recommend (I already have) that my friends visit Dodd RV (Peninsula) if they are looking at buying a camper. More
Horrible Service & Experience We just got our RV back from Dodd RV, and it was such an unpleasant experience, I will never be going back. The problems were numerous, includi We just got our RV back from Dodd RV, and it was such an unpleasant experience, I will never be going back. The problems were numerous, including: • Incredibly poor customer service: their story seemed to change every time that we spoke with them - it caused us to completely lose trust in them • Repairs: they did not repair the problems that we brought it in for (but still charged us almost a thousand dollars) • Time: It took them nearly a month to return the RV to us We made an appointment five weeks before we took the RV in to ensure that they would be able to do the repairs in a timely manner. When we arrived, and asked them to repair a surging generator and a refrigerator that wasn’t working on propane, they told us that they would have an estimate to us by the end of the next day, and could have the work completed by the end of the week. It was 12 days before we could get an estimate out of them, and 3.5 weeks until we could finally get the RV back to drive it off of the lot. Every time that we called them to check on the status, the story seemed to change. Everything - from the specific problem, to the status of the parts that they had ordered - seemed to change depending on the person with whom we were speaking or the day that we called. It was incredibly frustrating, made even more so by the haughty demeanor of the service manager. When they returned the RV to us, the generator was still surging under a load, and the refrigerator still did not work with propane. Worse, buttons that worked on the refrigerator before we dropped it off were stuck and did not work when we picked it up. In all, they returned the RV to us in worse condition than the condition it had been in when we dropped it off. Yet they still had the nerve to charge us almost $1,000 for the experience. We will never do business with them again. At the best, they are a business that are incapable of performing quality, timely work, coupled with a horrible customer service ethic. But after a month of dealing with their excuses and poor attitude, I believe it to be much worse than that. More
