Erik Bettinger was the sales consul My husband and I went looking for a 2015 Subaru Legacy. Waikem was the second Subaru dealership that we visited. Erik Bettinger was the sales consultant that took care of us at Waikem and I couldn't be happier with the experience. Erik let us know right away that the specific car we were looking for was going to be hard to find, so he recommended that we order one. He kept us informed on the progress of our car order the entire 8 weeks. When our car finally arrived, he was as excited as we were. He spent almost 2 hours with us going over every detail of the vehicle. We picked up the car on a Saturday and the following Monday (on his day off) he called to see how we liked the car and if we had any questions on it. I just can't say enough about what a great car buying experience it was and I credit this all to Erik Bettinger. He made us feel as if we were his only customer and his excitement showing us our car when it finally arrived really made us feel special. I highly doubt that there is a better, more knowledgeable car sales consultant out there. Waikem will always have our business after this wonderful experience! More

Fabulous experience from start to finish! I just bought my first Subaru from Waikem and the experience was stress free from start to finish! I initially did research on the vehicle and dealer I just bought my first Subaru from Waikem and the experience was stress free from start to finish! I initially did research on the vehicle and dealerships and chose Waikem even though there were 4+ Subaru dealerships located closer to me. I did quite a bit of upfront work via phone/email and when I actually went to the dealer, all prices quotes, ranges remained the same. My main contacts were Marissa (Internet salesperson) and Rick B. and they were very professional and helped the process to go smoothly and free from stress. I am looking forward to driving my Forester for many years! Thank you to the folks at Waikem Subaru!! More

I have never considered buying a car an enjoyable experience but was very impressed with how patient Ian was during the entire process. I test drove a Pilot, two CRVs and my Forester and he was very professional and helpful the entire time. There was no pressure and I feel I chose the perfect vehicle for me. When I'm ready for my next car I will be back to see Ian Ross. More

Great experience I had done my research and knew what I wanted. The saleman, Brian, did not try to steer me to a different vehicle, He simply explained what Subaru off I had done my research and knew what I wanted. The saleman, Brian, did not try to steer me to a different vehicle, He simply explained what Subaru offered and answered every question that I had. When I decided to purchase, it was taken care of quickly and efficiently and the "intro" to my car was detailed and extremely helpful. In the month that I have had my car, I have been contacted 4 times to make sure that everything was still great. When I have stopped at the dealership, all employees are quick to help out in anyway possible. I am very happy and satisfied with my new car and my new friends at Waikem Subaru. More

I have nothing good to say about this dealership. ____________________________________________________________________________ UPDATE 8/16/2014 This Is A Reply To Waikem's Response. First of all, Waikem DID NOT SEND MY REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT BACK! That is a lie as of today. It has been a month since they said they would send me a check by mail. Waikem did not lower the price on the car. The price of the car was on the contract from 3 months prior. Waikem and I had NEVER discussed the payment amount at all. We discussed the selling price of the car and the trade in value of my truck, that's it. I had planned on going through my bank for financing, not Waikem, so why would I discuss a payment amount with them? The price of the car was Waikems guaranteed price through Consumer Reports/TrueCar pricing. That price had gone up significantly since my contract, from $31,745 to $32,645 at the time the car was arriving. Waikem guys figured they would lowball my trade value to make extra money and if I didn't like it they would have no problem selling it to someone else for more money. The WRX model is a popular selling car. Incidentally, the car sold before it even arrived on the lot. I saw that Waikem had listed it on AutoTrader. It was on there for 2 days and then disappeared 2 days before the car arrived on the lot. I'm betting they did pretty well on the sale of it. I used Kelly Blue book values, Edmunds car values, Black Book Car values, and NADA Guide values. The numbers you get from these sites are for your area when you enter your zip code. Not just California. All of them were about the same and much higher than what the salesmen were telling me. I do my homework instead of trusting what car dealers tell me. That's why these sites are there. It really is sad, that this is how many car dealers operate. To me, it seems like are no ethics at all, the only thing that matters is how much cash they can squeeze out of each and every customer. Like I said before, I'm disgusted with Waikem Subaru. I ve bought quite a few cars in my life and I had the worst car buying experience I ve ever had at Waikem Subaru. I didn t care much for any of the sales people there, but after shopping around, negotiating, and making them honor their TrueCar price, they ended up with the best price in my area. After more negotiating, we got to a decent amount for my trade, a 2011 Nissan Frontier. I went ahead and ordered a new car from them. 3 months go by and they call and say my car will be delivered in about 2 weeks. I was very happy until they re-evaluated my trade in. Rick Ballas told me it was going to be $1200 less than it was when I ordered my new car 3 months prior. When I said what? in disbelief, he tried to tell me that my 2.5 year old truck was depreciating at $500 a month. I just laughed in disbelief at the nerve of the guy. Nothing had changed with the truck except a few hundred miles on the odometer. Book value was still $1200-1400 more than their new offer. I checked TrueCar price on the car I ordered again and found out that it had gone up about $900 in selling price. So now I either take their lowball offer or go somewhere else and pay more money. Either way, I lose. They know this and couldn t care less because the car I ordered is very popular (a WRX) and they know they can sell it to the next guy at a higher price than my contract. What they are doing isn t illegal, but I find it unethical. I told them that I wanted my refundable deposit back and I wasn t buying from them. I m so mad and disgusted with them and there isn t a thing I can do about it except write this review about the horrible experience with them. I m expecting to have to take them to small claims court to get my refundable deposit back as well. Response from the owner in the last week- We lowered the price of the car to meet the depreciation in your trade in to keep your payment the same that we had agreed on in the first place. Often times kelly blue book used car prices are extremely inaccurate because they use values directly from California and rarely apply in our Ohio market. We also returned your deposit by mail when you requested it. We are sorry that we could not come to agree upon terms for your Subaru WRX.
