First, the time it took from when we agreed to purchase the vehicle until we met wi The problem my wife and I have with our experience is three-fold. First, the time it took from when we agreed to purchase the vehicle until we met with the business manager to sign the paperwork was nearly 90 minutes ... with no explanation. The salesman came back to his desk once about 45 minutes in with paperwork in his hand. He offered my wife a coffee. She accepted. They left. A minute later, my wife came back to the salesman's desk, but he didn't for another 45 minutes. Second, when we made our decision, we were told it was to $289 a month. We repeated it back twice. The salesman confirmed $289. When we met with the business manager, he said $289. Then, when it came time to sign the paperwork , it was $289.99. That's a $35 difference over the course of the lease. Money aside, it's the deception that irked us. We both said something to the business manager, but he said it was $289.99 and moved on to the next form without acknowledgement or apology. Finally, when it came to the mileage limitation, the business manager said it was 10,000 miles a year. We said the salesman repeatedly said it was 12,000, that 12,000 was the lowest Dickson City Hyundai offered. The business manager said it was 10,000 and quickly moved on to the next form. At 20 cents per mile (Hyundai's figure), that's another $400. Again, though, the deception and lack of acknowledgement made it so we won't be returning to that dealership for any future business. In hindsight, we should have walked away three times: 1. When we were left there to wait and wait and wait; 2. After the misrepresentation regarding the monthly payments; 3. After the misrepresentation regarding the mileage limit. Shame on us. But shame on Dickson City Hyundai for conducting business that way. It cost them future business with this family. P.S.: It was more than a decade earlier when we previously bought a car from Dickson City Hyundai. It was a smooth, honest process then. It is why in February, we made the 90-mile trip (one way) from our house. More
Sales staff were helpful as was Finance mgr. The dealership was helpful and accommodating, most especially as relates to financing. Car was not serviced and it was necessary to come back for same. Had to return 3 times as the correct amount of oil was not put into the engine. On the 3rd return to correct this issue, a tech with a background in BMWs diagnosed the problem which was that the previous tech had underfilled the engine with oil and that, in fact the engine was 2 quarts low. I was taken care of by a young lady by the name of Launi Pet I was taking care of by our young lady by the name of l a r u ni Petrylak , and she took the time to explain to me from start to finish what was goin I was taking care of by our young lady by the name of l a r u ni Petrylak , and she took the time to explain to me from start to finish what was going to go on with my vehicle.
