I would recommend anyone go to Dick's Hillsboro Hyundai and ask for Rick if you're looking for a great car buying experience. Everyone I came into contact with in the dealership was very friendly and helpful. Thank you Rick for everything and I would also like to thank David, the finance manager, for helping me go through my paperwork. More

I had called the evening before to ask about a couple of different kinds of cars and told her my favorite was a Mini Cooper. She said she had one and would have it brought up to the front for me. It was parked in the front when my daughter and I arrived. We took it on a test drive and I was in love. There was no pressure to buy or anything else that you can get with some car salesmen. It was the perfect color, had so many extras and not a bad price. Krysta was awesome! She went out of her way to give me perfect service. Her title is Finance Manager, and it fits her to a T. An excellent experience! Thank you Krysta. More
Take your business elsewhere. Bottom line on my experience with this dealership and my issue with the people I encountered. They ran my credit WITHOUT authorization. Let me star Bottom line on my experience with this dealership and my issue with the people I encountered. They ran my credit WITHOUT authorization. Let me start at the beginning. 09/08/2018 – I arrived at the dealership around 11ish to specifically look at 2 cars. A 2014 Hyundai Sonata and an Outback. I was greeted quite quickly by Roberto Melgarejo. I showed him on my phone the 2 cars I was interested in seeing. He located the Hyundai, took my driver’s license information, and we proceeded on the test drive. We drove to the Dick’s location that had the Outback. I started the engine of the Outback and knew immediately I would not be interested. We proceeded to drive back to the Hillsboro location in Sonata. I liked the car. It was nice, low miles. WAY overpriced at $15K according to BBB. So, I sat down and just offered him the ‘high amount’ from BBB. He got up and came back with the sales manager, Nick Bonnicci. I am already on the defense because of bad past car purchasing experiences as a single woman walking in to the lion’s den. So, I immediately give him the schpeil of ‘I don’t want to hear about some bull crap dots, etc, all the useless extras that just give the dealership more income and don’t actually matter speech’. I also informed him I have already secured financing from First Tech and didn’t need help financing or any of that. This should make this process a lot easier. He asked what my interest was in which I replied 4.1. Much better than they could ever offer me but they attempted to persist a bit. I said no and that I have been with First Tech for 20 years and I’m good. He countered offered with $14,500 all inclusive. He said he can’t go lower because they made a poor business decision and got crap on the trade-in because they wanted to get the previous owner in a new car. OK. What I head was, we messed up and the next customer needs to pay for it. So, I left because I needed to think about. My daughter and I went home for a few hours. Fast forward to later in the day I went back to the dealership at 6:27pm and met my best friend and her husband there. I wanted her husband to look at the car and drive it. (He does all the major work on my vehicles, so it was important I get his stamp of approval). He drove, he approved. Yea! Let’s just get this done then. Roberto requested that I email my First Tech approval letter to him. The email address he gave me was weird as it was a hotmail email address. (This review site bans me from posting it). But I forwarded to this address at 7:39pm wondering why he didn’t have a business email address. Odd. So, my friend and I were sitting in the dealership forever wondering what was taking so long. Roberto comes out with this form. I asked him what it was for and he replied for DMV related stuff. Fair enough. I said you can’t run my credit. He said they would not. I said again I do not authorize my credit run. He said could write on the top of this form, No Credit Check. So I did. I left most of this form blank because they would not have needed this information. He asked me to fill in the ‘how long I’ve lived at my address’ field. I asked why and he said it was just a required area. My friend then asked if they were trying to run my credit, and he said no. So, then came time to barter on my trade in. My beautiful old jeep. 2004 Liberty with 240K miles. A champ. A rock. A fabulous vehicle. Roberto came and tried to offer me $200. I said no, $500. They he came back and tried to offer me $250 and 2 bars of chocolate (wth?), I said no, $500. Then I said so he doesn’t have to run back and forth just let me talk to the mystery man in the blacked-out room. I came in and got my way. I got $500. Fine. Let’s just get this done. I requested the document that shows the whatever point inspection the car went through and was told I would get it with the paperwork at the end. ( I never received it.) I then get shuffled into a back room with the finance guy. They said they work with First Tech so it will be easy to get the paperwork done. It was late, after 9pm. The guy doing the paperwork clearly just wanted to go home, but I get it, so did I. I signed a bunch of stuff related to the new car and the trade in. He skipped over trying to sell me on extended warranties because of the late hour, which I appreciated not having to listen to the sales pitch. As I was leaving, Roberto walked me out to my new car. Very nice of him. Then I realized the car didn’t have floor mats. I asked about this and he told me to wait and came back with 4 new mats and we threw them in the truck for the time being. So, I bought my 2014 Hyundai Sonata. YAY! Right? No, not really. First, the floor mats provided were for a different model car. So, the driver’s side mat actually would have sat over my gas pedal. ~sigh~ So, I’m still in need to purchase mats for the xxxx car. But more importantly, these mothers DID run my credit. So, how many times did I say do not run my credit and I already have financing? A LOT. There is NO reason for a car dealership to run your credit if you already have financing. It is a violation to do this, without permission per the FCRA. I soon as I noticed this I emailed Roberto, at his actual business email address. I emailed Roberto Monday Sept 17th at 4:09pm because I had a serious concern. I explicitly stated I did not authorize the dealership to pull my credit since I already had a loan from First Tech. My friend was there to witness this. I stated this twice. However, I see that the dealership did pull my credit. Without authorization. That form I filled out that I didn’t understand why the dealership needed the information....I was told it was standard to put the loan through my credit union. I assume that information was taken to run my credit. I’m not happy. This was a moderately decent car buying experience but now it is tainted. Please notify the powers to be that this needs to be remedied ASAP or I’m reporting the dealership to the BBB and see what other actions I can peruse. I’m just devastated I have to write this email because you were a cool sales guy. I received a response from the sale manager Nick the same day at 6:00pm. He responded with, Hi Rebecca my name is Nick Bonnicci I’m the sales manager at xxxxx Hillsboro Hyundai. Roberto forwarded me your email. Can you please call me at the delaers number so I can talk to you about this? I responded on 09/20 at 5:21am For traceability purposes I would prefer to keep this in e-mail. Can you explain to me why my credit was run? I know that it was not required as I already had financing and there was no permission provided. Nick responded with the incorrect information of Unless you come in with a check from first tech or any lending institution we have to pull credit. Lending institutions need whats called a credit score disclosure which is generated once credit is ran along with adversary notice in order for them to send a check to us . Its federal guidelines. I looked into your situation we pulled credit then sent you only to first tech. We have to do also to verify you are who you say u are. I hope this helps. So, let’s stop right here. That is a big pile of bull crap. Completely untrue. Federal guidelines say that a dealership HAS to run someone’s credit? No Nick. Just no. Also, they ‘pulled the credit then sent you only to first tech”. What? What does that even mean? ~sigh~ So I responded on 09/20 to see if they can confirm this is a soft credit check. Nick responded to that on 09/20 at 11:57am stating he was unfortunately im not sure what you mean soft pull. It may be a 2 point pull. You signed a privacy notice, credit app,and credit score disclosure correct? You score is what was printed on the credit score disclosure. One purpose of that is so the lenders know you know your score. You score drops usually anyway because you take on new debt. It will then stop going back up as you make your payments. Let’s stop there again. How can a sales manager not know the difference between a soft and hard credit check? I don’t care if the point loss is just 2 point or 1 point…MY point is that the dealership DID NOT HAVE PERMISSION. No, I did not sign anything like that or anything that was presented to me like that. Because again, as I repeated numerous time when I was buying the car, they do not have permission to run my credit. By that interaction I am getting really irritated and feeling very frustrated like I was taken advantage of. My response to him on 09/20 at 2:03pm was, `No. I did not sign a credit app or a credit disclosure. I wouldn’t sign one because I already had a loan! There is paperwork I was told I needed to fill out and I wrote on the top that no credit pull is authorized. This is nuts and, I’m fairly sure, not legal. Please help me find out why this happened and who needs to be trained (or take a course on business ethics). `. Cleary, I am just getting more heated. Nick responded the same day stating he had his finance manager check the documents. No where on the credit app that you did sign does it state what you are saying also there is a signed credit score disclosure from you as well. We upload these documents to first tech so there is a trail. Would you like me to forward them? I can tomorrow or have my finance manager send them today. Maybe did you go to another dealership?? I dont understand how this mistake can happen. I can't either Nick. I can't either. I smell a bunch of bull crap. What a bunch of unethical liars. Why, would I knowingly, sign ANYTHING that authorized this when I spent numerous occasion (in the witness of my friend and her husband) stating the dealership WAS NOT AUTHORIZED. It’s all the sale isn’t Roberto / Nick / guy in the back? Clearly, a couple weeks of breathing and thinking about this has not made me calm. My next response was my final response and Nick did not respond to it. Clearly I was heated and maybe I could have chosen my words better but I saw red and feel incredible violated. Incredible. Violated. Lied to. Taken advantage. I really was just beyond at this point. No Nick. I did not go to another dealership. I wonder if it is one of the signature I was just signed away at the end that were being thrown at me. Sneaky sneaky. But I assure you I stated that NO CREDIT CHECK IS AUTHORIZED. I told Roberto this! I told the gentleman in the back (the guy from philly? The smooth talker...i don’t remember this name). My best friend and her husband were there all the times I verbalized this. I wrote this on the form that, for reason Roberto could not explain, you needed to know how long I lived at my address. Why did the dealership run my credit when I already had financing? Seriously. Why. This is so incredibly sneaky and underhanded. Shame on you for trying to pull a fast one. I may be a woman and single mother but I’m an educated woman. At the end of the day I’m still very pissed at this entire experiencing. No person like being lied to especially when going in to a sales type environment. The car is great, I’m happy with the car…although the first time it ran I realized the wipers were complete garbage and I couldn’t see out the windshield at all. I had to pull over with my hazards on and wait for the down pour to pass then I went to nearest Autozone. Also, it occurred to me about a week later that I didn’t get the promised warranty that the ad said I would get. (I still have the screen shot on my phone. It says, You even get it with our FREE 2-Year/100,000-Mile powertrain warranty at no additional cost! You also get free 24-hour roadside assistance, a free Carfax history report, a free comprehensive 125-point vehicle inspection with shop checklist, tire hazard reimbursement & more! Liars. I received none of this. Literally none of this. I irritated. I think Roberto lied to me. I think he knew he lied to me but didn’t care because he got another ‘check’ on the white board for most cars sold over other associates. So, now, I am reporting this to BBB and I must take the time to hand write a letter to the credit agency with this information. I’m so disappointed and heartbroken that I had this experience. My friend convinced me to go back to this dealership because they had purchased their vehicle there. Clearly neither of us are going back. I’m just so angry and feel like I was lied to and taken advantage of because I am a woman (there with her child). Or, perhaps, they are equal opportunity liars. Either way, I will do what I have to do and find a way to let it go, but writing out my experience is part of this process for me. More

We had already been appro We purchased a truck from Dick's Hillsboro Hyundai in February. Although their actions were 100% legal, they are unethical. We had already been approved for a loan through our bank, the sales guy insisted that he could get us a better deal and that the dealer HAS to run a credit inquiry even though we already had the loan approval forms. We did not want our credit to be hurt by too many credit inquiries and he promised that they would only submit it to a couple banks. My husband had over 10 inquiries hit his credit from them! The sales guy asked us what we owed on our trade in, we were unsure of the exact amount and he told us that we could give him an estimate within $500 of the balance owed. In late June, were sent a bill stating that the car dealership had made multiple attempts to contact us and that we owed $438.41 on the balance of our loan for the trade in and if we did not respond within a certain amount of time, that they were going to send the bill to collections. We know this is untrue because we had been back to the dealership multiple times regarding problems with the truck. They even refunded us over $600, in May, when the truck broke down on the mountain and had to be repaired in Sandy. My husband went into the dealership and gave them his card information so that they could auto deduct the $438.41 on the first of July. That never happened but instead we received a collections letter saying that we still hadn't paid the bill. Like I said they were well within their legal rights, but was it right? NO. We will never do business with any form of Dicks Auto Group ever again. More

Bad Dealership sales, and Customer Service I called the dealership and spoke to Dennis T. and told him my situation, Since I had a current bankruptcy. He took some information down and said tha I called the dealership and spoke to Dennis T. and told him my situation, Since I had a current bankruptcy. He took some information down and said that by look of my income that their shouldn't be a problem with my income and my current bankruptcy. He asked to set a appointment and I did. I got sick and called to tell Dennis if I can set another appointment. Another guy answered and said Dennis wasn't in he gone home for the day (Joe Larson) He also took the same information over the phone again, And said they will get started on my information when Dennis. When I spoke to Dennis he said he had to do a letter for me to start the process. I believe that wasn't done and I was never told the letter was created. I didn't hear back from dealership wondering what was going. So I called back again and spoke to a Joe that worked with Dennis that also took my information previously and he said they were really busy he would call me back. No call back again. 3rd time I called back because. I noticed they ran my credit without my consent. Which made me upset. I never gave them my permission to do this. Long story short. Joe Larson, sends me a email to tell me that they behind on their work because someone was on vacation and tells me that if I don't hear from them it's not that they are IGNORING ME!! Its just they are busy states Joe L. on my email. I made another attempt to call back in Sunday and a Lady tells me that Joe and Dennis are on vacation. They both didn't call me back to see what all was going on with my car application. She told me that she was going to call Dennis and let him know about what happen. And again I never got a call from either one. I lastly, called again and Denise was back from vacation on Tuesday, which makes this a whole situation about a week long of calling back and forth. I finally spoke to Dennis and tells me that he doesn't understand why I was denied and tells me he was going send my information again another manager and he will hear back from them in the morning. AGAIN!!! I decided to just cancel everything because I truley have not gotten someone to take the time to tell me exactly what's all going on with my application. When all in the beginning of all of this I was told by Dennis T. that they could help me finance a car. I called back today and told me them to just cancel everything. Because they made a attempt to call me to see what's happening with my application. They didn't even call me to back to tell about running my credit or not call me back at all. These guys don't seemed to care at all in helping people!!!! More
