We were attracted to this dealership from our home town in southwestern McHenry County from an auto listing found on Autotrader.com. We spent several weeks recently looking throughout northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin for a certified vehicle to replace our older 2001 Suburban. Scott and his support staff were very professional in their approach to selling us this vehicle. We never felt pressured throughout the process in spite of my persistance in seeking the best possible deal through our negotiatiations.I was a little disappointed that we were unable to get what I had anticipated for our trade-in, but that was overcome by the the lower than expected fixed interest financing that we were able to secure through the dealership. The only misgiving that we had was that of the lengthy amount of time it took to consummate the deal from the time we entered the doors until it took for us to drive off with our new car (5 hours). This was largely due to a particularly busy Saturday in the sales room and having only one business manager to process all the tranactions of the day. However, the business manager on staff, Tony Hay, was very delightful, thorough, and proficient in how he processed our sale. As a consolation, our saleman treated us to lunch that was brought in for employees and customers.Our experience at Wickstrom was pleasant and I would encourage anyone else to trade with them. (This was a pleasant surprise) We were not financing the vehicle, but JT, who processed us thru the paperwork was wonderful as well. How surprised I was that we actually received our new license plates on the spot! It has been a long time since I have purchased a vehicle. I remember when you had to wait for the plates to come in the mail. LOL This was one of the most pleasant experiences I have ever had. I cannot tell you how nervous I was when going to a dealer. I got a reference to this dealership from my boss at work who also had a great experience. I worked mostly with Tim Tyler who I learned later was actually new to the dealership. Not only that, but I was also his first ever sale, and from my experience with him I would never have been able to tell unless I was told! His supervisor Dave Arenson was also incredibly helpful. I can't say good enough things about him either, he stayed on the phone with the bank until he hammered through a deal that we could finally take and I appreciate it all the more. I had previously been to 7 different dealerships and they had all been completely unbearable. One of the first dealerships I went to was D'Arcy in Joliet and they were absolutely horrible. Wickstrom Chevy was miles and miles ahead of the competition and I will hands down recommend them to any person I know who is looking for a new car. More
