Purchased a certified pre-owned vehicle from Dick Hannah Kia. Was purchasing from out of state and the process went fairly smooth. Lucas was good about answering my questions and sending me some photos ahea Kia. Was purchasing from out of state and the process went fairly smooth. Lucas was good about answering my questions and sending me some photos ahead of time. There was some replacement parts the dealership was waiting was on to come in and install that took longer than expected that drew the process out a bit, but once it was "ready" I felt an incredible amount of pressure to get there as quickly as I could as they were only going to hold the car for me for a day. The plan was that I would be picked up in the airport in it so I could test drive it on the way back to the dealership to help save some time, but turns out that the car hadn't even gone into detail until I was on my way there and it wasn't finished until about 45 minutes to and hour after I arrived. The dealership insisted on an appearance package with the purchase of the car that supposedly protects the finishes inside and out that was no small amount of money. I tried to ask them before I went out if I could opt out of that, but they said no, in fact had already told me that it was in detail (which I knew wasn't the case after I was on my way there). I feel like the detailing of the car was rushed due to them insisting on my being out there when I was, even though the car wasn't ready. When they brought the car around for me to finally look at it, there was sap on it, and in general some scuffs here and there. I had my doubts that the ceramic protective coat was put on, or put on properly since the car still had sap on it. It also had some trim that was very worn and faded looking for a 2 year old car. I expressed my displeasure and they quickly took the car back to detail to see what they could do. They got the sap off the hood, but nothing could be done about the faded trim around the windows in the amount of time we had. I either had a flight to catch if I decided to back out of the purchase, or I needed to wrap up the purchase to make the 6-7 hour drive home with the car. The dealership did end up discounting the car some for the window trim repair, which I will handle since their detail shop did not have time in the time frame we had. If I lived locally, I would have had them fix it and returned when the car was properly detailed and cleaned up and the trim repaired. I knew this might be an issue with purchasing out of state however and was ready to fly home if it didn't work out, but in the end, the issues were minor cosmetics that I can handle and I was overall happy with the car so made the purchase. Everyone I spoke with was very kind and they tried to be cognizant of my time. I just wish that the car had been properly detailed before my arrival as was intended so that they whole process wouldn't have felt so rushed. Definitely a disconnect between departments or something that they should work on. In addition to the appearance protection add on, there was also a theft insurance add on, which I could have done without, but understood that they add this on to all of their cars for their own protection. Other than those items and the standard extended warranty options, I was not pushed into trying to purchase any additional accessories or add-ons, which I appreciate. For the most part, it was one of the more pleasant car buying experiences, but not without some bumps along the way. More
One of the best experiences I’ve had in a dealership so far after numerous car purchases. Anthony was my salesman and made me feel comfortable, listened to, and not pushed into something I didn’t want. Onc far after numerous car purchases. Anthony was my salesman and made me feel comfortable, listened to, and not pushed into something I didn’t want. Once I signed finance paperwork I usually get haggled to purchase additional packages, have even huffed and puffed with if I didn’t want something, and I felt absolutely no pressure by this dealership which speaks volumes. Thank you! More
