Volt warranty - Terrible service department I took my 2 month old Volt (3200 miles) in for an alignment yesterday July 17,2014 to Dick Genthe Chevrolet. Vehicle alignment falls well under the n I took my 2 month old Volt (3200 miles) in for an alignment yesterday July 17,2014 to Dick Genthe Chevrolet. Vehicle alignment falls well under the new vehicle limited warranty for the first 7500 miles. This dealership repeatedly denied that an alignment is covered under any type of warranty. The service manager (Steve Szabados) was called into the situation and even he denied that this was not under warranty and demanded payment for the alignment. Interestingly enough is that I had the new vehicle limited warranty with me and read to it out loud to the service manager and service advisor. They both (Neil and Steve) wanted to know where i got this information from and how I got it. (This warranty info is available to anyone and it is no secret) It was only then after 2.5 hours that they decided that I did not have to pay for the WARRANTY issue. They also left the Volt running the entire 2 hours which drained the battery. Upon leaving the dealership I had to sign paper work and then was asked again to pay for the alignment. (terrible communication within this dealership). I then had to wait for an additional 20 minutes as a third different service employee said I HAD to pay for the alignment and he stated "I don't believe you" when I stated this was under warranty and the manager knew about this. This dealerships service department is extremely incompetent, rude, not trustworthy, and is a poor reflection of quality costumer service and the Chevrolet brand. More
My 2011 Equinox battery went bad and needed to be replaced and although it hadn't been purchased from this dealership it was taken there because of its proximity to my home. When it became apparent replaced and although it hadn't been purchased from this dealership it was taken there because of its proximity to my home. When it became apparent that it was not going to be finished until the next day, Scott found a very nice loaner for me. The service was completed the very next day. These guys are great, very friendly and courteous, a huge difference from the dealership I actually got the car from. When I come due for a new car at the end of the year it will definitely be a GENTHE. More
I bought a 2012 Sonic from Genthe. I have had 3 sets of sway bar links put on the vehicle, I have had calipers replaced on the vehicle, I have had it in several times for windshield washer issues, and as t sway bar links put on the vehicle, I have had calipers replaced on the vehicle, I have had it in several times for windshield washer issues, and as to date it has been in the service department for 10 days with transmission work. The service dept. has been vage about what the issue is. I got a LEMON from Genthe and no one seems to care, the service dept. makes comments like it is what it is. I come from a long line of Ford owners and workers and convinced my husband to cosign on the Sonic. I will never buy or recommend a Chevy vehicle to any friends of family ever. I think that I should be issued some sort of extended warrenty on the car, because I have concerns that instead of driving this car for the next 15 years like I have the Ford cars I have owned, I will be dumping money into it the whole time I own it, and I still owe 4 more years of payments on it. A very very dishearted customer. Im certain that this review will not end up on the site, because I only see good reviews, but it was important to me to be able to express how sad I am for buying a Lemon. I brought a used corvette in for inspection.I paid 150.00$ for a 179 point inspection.I had not yet bought the car.My offer was dependent on what the inspection told me.I already knew spme things from 150.00$ for a 179 point inspection.I had not yet bought the car.My offer was dependent on what the inspection told me.I already knew spme things from my own inspection/test drive.When I got the report the only things that were brought to my attention were thing I already knew.When I took the car to mcguires in clare to have the brakes checked because of pulsation the told me that upon reading the computer codes the car had an issue with the abs system. they also told me that a gas gauge code also came up.In other words the tech did not read codes during the inspection.The service manager told me this was the same inspection that was performed on used cars.So what your telling me is that you would take in a 15 year old car and NOT read codes.This poor excuse for an inspection may end up costing me 4000.00$.Why would anybody buy a car here? More
Great service...friendly and fast. I needed my car fixed after an accident and didn't have a lot of time..they were able to fix my car in the days I had off work. I have had two situations since April of 2012 where I've had to use Dick Genthe's Body Shop for repairs. Mike (Manager) and Gary in the Body Shop (Office) are truly wonderful! They are very accomodating, always willing to help no matter what the situation is. Whether it's driving me to the Rental Car Facility, a ride to and from work, etc. They go above and beyond! I received a phone call every day to keep me updated on the status of my vehicle. Both times my cadilliac was in their shop, it was completed in a timely manor and looked just like new when picking it up! I had the option to take my vehicle anywhere; Don Massey, Cadilliac of Novi,... I chose Dick Genthe both times because of Mike and Gary. I apprecaite them so much and have purchased 2 other cars from there in the past year because of my experience w/ them. Again, both gentleman are professional but at the same time, personable! The quality of work is amazing, their communication is great, always smiling and making the experience truly perfect! Thank you to both of them for everything they have done! More
