The worst car buying experience in my life. I went to help friends buy a new Honda. Old school car sales tactics at there finest. I was not there at the paperwork signing but was assured by phone of the financed amount after they decided to remove the trade from the deal. After I saw the paperwork that night I realized quickly that the Dick Brooks personnel listed above had tried to take advantage of my friends and I had been lied to. Needless to say I was furious and we went back up there to confront them. After a heated discussion, we agreed to tear up the deal and we left. It is very short sighted to try and make a few extra hundred dollars on a volume selling car. I have bought 4 Hondas & assisted in one for my parents. I currently own a Honda Civic Si, Nissan Nismo 350Z, Nissan Xterra, Infinity G37S Sedan and 2 classic sports cars a Datsun 240Z & Datsun 280Z. I am a car enthusiast and understand how this purchase process should work and when I am being played. Even after calling them on it they continued to defend their shady tactics. If you are thinking of a Honda product I highly recommend you go elsewhere. All the Honda purchases I have made were at Hendricks Honda in Easley or Breakaway in Greenville. There is a reason for it and I shouldn't have wasted my time at Dick Brooks. Updated 09/18/13: Based on DB's actual numbers amount financed $19988 - ($775 Gap Insurance) - $1420 (Trade) = ~ $17800 to be financed. That is exactly what the deal was supposed to be. Guess we should rush back up there and put the trade back into the deal and sign the papers! Problem is that bogus trade amount was only floated to cover there inflated invoice numbers. I was looking for a sporty, affordable, reliable car for my wife. She's driven a mini van for the last 18 years while we had children in the home. I found a beautiful Mustang GT on Dick Brooks' web site that fit my criteria perfectly. With my work schedule I was having a difficult time getting away to check it out. Brian drove the car from Lyman to my work place in Greenville for a test drive. We were able to fill out all required information and he did the appraisal on our trade here @ my office. Within an hour he had me approved and set a date to surprise my wife with delivery two days later. When we arrived the car was in like new condition and wrapped in a big red bow. This 'above and beyond' sales approach was only the beginning of my experience with Dick Brooks and my sales person, Brian. During these torrential rains I found the car had a small leak and the floor was wet. Mr. Dotson drove a 'loaner' ( which was a 2012 Chrysler 200 :) to my wife's job, and picked up her Mustang for repair. This type of issue wasn't actually covered on the drive train warranty they gave us at no charge however their customer service ethic really showed. This is a fine bunch of people and an upstanding business. I cant say enough about how happy I am that I decided to buy from them. You should too. More
I have bought about 7 cars over the years from various dealers. This was the best experience I have ever had with a dealership. When it costs $60 for an oil change, I have no other choice but to take my car elsewhere for service. My disatisfaction has nothing to do with service and customer care as they were both 5 star. But, I can receive 5 star service elsewhere and NOT pay $60 for an oil change. In good faith, I brought my car back in for service after being charged $64 for my first oil change. I was told "we will make it right" in regard to my good faith, second visit. Four dollars off an already "fluffed" price is hardly making it right in my opinion. My car buying experience was GREAT and I would buy another vehicle form Dick Brooks Honda, but third time will NOT be a charm when it comes to servicing my vehicle. More
Great sales staff! They make you feel comfortable and don't push just to make a sale. I feel Matt and Dale worked with me on the price. The car was delivered spotless on the inside and out. It was a very relaxed buying experience. No hard pressure sales and was relatively quick. Took the time to let me take the vehicle home to show the rest of our family ot make sure it was right for pressure sales and was relatively quick. All of the Dick Brooks folks involved from Sharon Grillo and Matthew Smith, of the best experience so far has been with Dick Brooks Honda, Greer, SC. All of the Dick Brooks folks involved from Sharon Grillo and Matthew Smith, in internet sales to David in the finance department made the entire process so very smooth. I would recommend this dealership to anyone that was looking for a dealer that did not use high pressure tactics and treated their customers with respect and courtesy. Without doubt we will be back when it comes time to buy another Honda. More
