Awful Experience. Here are some FACTS about my experience with Delray Hyundai: Fact 1: Salesperson did not know the actual selling price of the car. We requested th Here are some FACTS about my experience with Delray Hyundai: Fact 1: Salesperson did not know the actual selling price of the car. We requested this information after the salesperson attempted to get us to buy the car by writing down the initial payment, and the monthly payments (without tax calculated) on a piece of paper and simply saying "this is what we are offering, this is the best we can do." The dealership was trying to use negotiation tactics with the intent to hide information about how the vehicle was priced, which was extremely disrespectful in this age of car buying. Fact 2: The salesperson then made us wait OVER 20 minutes, just to get the price of the car, the money factor and residual value, and when the information was put in front of us, it did not make mathematical sense, and the salesperson did not fully understand what was on the paper. *DISCLAIMER: Even though we were not impressed with Gerry, this review was not written to slander him. My frustration is more towards the dealership (as a whole) and its management. I was required to select the salesperson I worked with to post the review. Fact 3: After negotiations broke down and I left Delray Hyundai, I tried calling the dealership a few different times, and I was not given the opportunity to talk to a sales manager. They let me talk to the internet manager because he (quote) "knows and can see all the numbers." He agreed to send the selling price of the car to my email, and after getting off the phone, I never received the email. Fact 4: I was looking at a demo Vehicle at Delray Hyundai, but I ended up buying a BRAND NEW vehicle (same model and year as the demo at Delray Hyundai) at a different area dealership for LESS than what Delray Hyundai said was the bottom dollar price on the demo (all demo vehicles at Delray Hyundai have more than 2000 miles). Fact 5: Delray Hyundai has a "low price guarantee" that reads: "We know you have many choices when purchasing your next vehicle. We GUARANTEE the lowest prices on all in-stock vehicles. If you happen to find the same vehicle, make and model at one of our competitors, we GUARANTEE we will beat their price." I told them I found the same vehicle, at a lower price at a different dealership, and instead of "beating their price," I was ASSURED by "a Delray Hyundai manager" (not sure who because he refused to speak to me on the phone), that I would go to this other dealership and they would not be able to honor the price agreed upon over the phone (the other dealership WAS able to honor the price, I had no issues with the transaction). Just for context, a dealership should not be selling DEMO vehicles for MORE than new vehicles of the same model year sold by other dealerships. Also, Delray Hyundai was only discounting their "demo" vehicles "$20" a month, compared to a brand new vehicle (which is a less than a $1000 discount from a new vehicle to a demo!) and originally I was told there was "no difference" in the pricing between new and demo vehicles, before later being told that was incorrect. It doesn't matter if the vehicle was never titled, giving LESS THAN a $1000 discount from the current "new value" market price of a car with over 2000 miles is embarrassing. And the sad part is they will probably move their 50 demo vehicles because most consumers don't do their homework. They see the original price, the new discounted price and just think about how much money they are saving without factoring in things like the current discounts on a new, non-demo vehicle, or pricing from other area dealerships. Fact 6: If a manager just talked to me on the phone, and the dealership showed a little more professionalism and respect, I would not have written this review. In addition, if Delray Hyundai did not advertise a "low price guarantee," (which they did not honor, despite the fact I was asking them to match NEW CAR pricing on a DEMO VEHICLE), I would probably not be writing this review. I understand dealerships are in the business to make money, not lose money, and dealerships don't have to sell a car for a certain price if they don't want to, but to publicly guarantee the lowest pricing and then not honor it, just shows this dealership is using it as a marketing tactic aimed at fooling people. Don't purchase a car from a dealership that has a "low price guarantee" without checking to see if you are actually getting the lowest price in the area. Don't get played by a dealership like Delray Hyundai. Fact 7: If you actually read this whole review and need some guidance on where to go, call King Hyundai and ask for Kevin (one of the managers there). I ended up purchasing my car from King Hyundai in Deerfield Beach. He will give you clear pricing, all the information you need to calculate a lease (ex: the selling price, the money factor and the residual value) and when you show up to purchase the car, there WILL NOT be any additional fees or price increases.
