Purchase of 2015 Honda CRV I don't normally write reviews, though surprisingly I use them to help me make decisions on major purchases and travel -- strange, I know. Three wks back I was in the market for a new vehicle. I was looking at other brands since I had been driving Honda CRVs since 2000 (two purchased in 15 yrs). I looked at other Brands but kept coming back to Honda for re-sale value, features, past experience and yes, expert reviews. Did an Edmunds search/comparison/dealer price quote. [I highly suggest ANYONE looking to purchase a vehicle to do their due diligence on-line (Edmunds, TrueCar, Kelly Blue Book, etc) so that you don't go into the purchase process blind.] My Edmunds research resulted in 5 local dealerships responding back with a price quote for a 2015 CRV EX-L. The lowest by far was DELRAY HONDA (DH). I followed up with the sender of the email (Carlos Orejuela, Internet Sales) to ask "what is your lowest, out-the-door price... (important to ask so you don't get any surprise/hidden charges on the back end) ...for a Honda CRV EX-L w/Navigation" (typically an additional $1500). Within a couple of hrs he responded by phone followed by an itemized email of the individual costs, with his best price. Though it included dealer prep/destination charges that I wasn't crazy about and voiced to him I didn't want to pay, IT WAS STILL CONSIDERABLY LOWER THAN ANY OTHER DEALER. After sleeping on it for a night, I called back with a counter (I used my trade-in to get the total under what I was willing to pay) and, again after an hr or so, Carlos responded with "yes, we've got a deal." I went in that afternoon and conducted the transaction with Sally Vicarini (Carlos had a previous commitment he advised me of). She was excellent and followed in Carlo's footsteps with professional service. The process went smoothly, from test-drive, to paperwork signing, to finance dept. I got all my questions answered and drove away feeling great that I had purchase the SUV I wanted (w/Nav) at a great price. If there's one complaint (and it's certainly not unique to DH), it's that the process took 4 & 1/2 hours. I have had surgeries, mortgage closings and passport application processes take less time. Here's the next "Shark Tank" idea ... reduce the car purchasing process to 1 & 1/2 to maybe 2 hrs and EVERYONE will be buying more cars. Just saying!! Otherwise, I would highly recommend DH to my friends and family. Remember, do your research on-line (it's not 100% accurate but will give you a reference to start from), contact your preferred dealer's "internet sales" or "fleet sales" dept, ask for their best out-the-door price, then make your decision on who will get your business. They made my pregnant wife and myself sit for hours waiting (until 1030 on a tuesday), and at that point we were so tired and hungry and also ripe for a con. I told the finance manager that I did not want any additionally warranty and I have great credit (fico of 838) so I figured I would get a reasonable rate. He continued to offer more and more warranties until we caved in and thought the warranties weren't that expensive. When i got home a crunch the numbers I paid an $4,000 for the skylink, extended warranty and care car. The next day I got a 2% loan from my bank and re bought the car in cash. I called early in the day and told them I would be coming by around 6. Again they made us wait for an hour and half and then tried to offer us 1.5% with warranty again. No words for that move. Unfortunately the finance department really sours my experience with this dealership. Also the AC is not working well and it was very warm in the dealership that why I rated the facilities so low (its florida, ac is a must), but I believe they are moving soon to a new location. More
