Then, with cabin air filter in hand, wanted to charge another $100 to change it. The explination was labor. All you have to do is drop the glovebox, remove a cover, and change it. Bought one for $17 at AutoZone and took me 2 minutes. Way to far of a drive to overpay for service. More

I told him the keyless entry was not working and the TPMS light was on as well. Told him I had researched it a bit and it seemed as though the two issues were possibly connected and it might mean there was a faulty BCM. Made an appointment for Thursday and he suggested dropping it off Wednesday evening and using the key dropbox for convenience. No fees or charges were discussed. Received a call from Matt on Thursday that indeed it was the BCM as I thought, causing the issue, and unfortunately since the vehicle is so old it wasn't possible to get the needed part so no repair could be made. I thanked him and told him I would come and pick up the vehicle. Immediately before hanging up, he stated there would be a $130 fee for the mechanic's time, and then hung up. When I arrived to pick up my vehicle, I spoke with Kristoffer and questioned why I was being charged a fee I hadn't been aware of prior to bringing my vehicle in. He told me it was for one hour of time for the mechanic to diagnose the issue. I explained that I had never been told ahead of time I would be charged this fee. Truthfully, I may not have brought it to be looked at at all had I known I would be charged $130 to possibly be told they couldn't do anything. This didn't seem to matter. There were several employees present, one of whom chimed in in support of Kristoffer, so I assume this is a common practice that I find very unprofessional, unethical, and shady. Professional businesses need to be transparent with their fees and completely upfront with their customers. I have been to many dealerships and mechanics in the past where diagnostic fees and other fees have been charged, but I was always very much aware of this prior to my vehicle being looked at. Please put better practices in place. You can do better. I would like to see more professional and ethical practices put in place. Customers should be notified of diagnostic fees prior to dropping off their vehicles for service. The customer should be notified during the initial phone call when the appointment is made and again when the vehicle is dropped off in person. At this time, a statement should be initialed or signed accepting the diagnostic charge. If the car is dropped off after hours and a key is left in the drop box, the envelope should clearly state the diagnostic fee and also have a place to initial or sign in acceptance. Customers need to know this fee will be charged whether Dellen is able to perform the work or not. Luckily I can absorb the $130, but not everyone is as fortunate. There needs to be accountability on your end. You should not be allowed to charge customers a diagnostic fee they never agreed to. It makes me wonder why you choose not to be transparent about this fee. I find it very troubling. I truly hope this inspires you to change your practices and you put some of my suggestions in place. You need to do better. More
I was on a trip from Missouri to New Jersey towing a trailer when the transmission in my 2015 Suburban failed. I had it towed to Dellen Chevrolet, which was 8 miles from where the truck stopped, and put trailer when the transmission in my 2015 Suburban failed. I had it towed to Dellen Chevrolet, which was 8 miles from where the truck stopped, and put the keys in the night service drop box. I contacted the dealer the next morning and let them know that I would be renting a truck to continue my trip and that I would be by to get my belongings out of my Suburban. They called me shortly thereafter to tell me that the transmission was bad and needed to be replaced. Chris at the service desk was very clear as to what had happened and the alternatives to repair the vehicle. I told him to go ahead with the repair and that I would return in 9 days to pick it up. He assured me that it would be ready when I returned. When I did return, the truck was repaired and I was able to get on my way home without delay. The truck performed very well during the 6 hour drive home. Everyone I encountered in the service department was very courteous and professional. I would definitely recommend their service department to anyone. More
