did not listen to what i wanted, ended up with a car that was over my budget, salesman would not budge on his price and charged me higher when i asked for 15,000 miles on my lease and which i told him upfron was over my budget, salesman would not budge on his price and charged me higher when i asked for 15,000 miles on my lease and which i told him upfront that i drive 17 + miles to work they gave me 10,000 miles. salesmen very pushy and i somehow i signed the papers and had to back out. constantly called and emailed me asking about my car purchase and when I will be back in to look at cars. This was my first car purchase and when I called the salesman on Monday to put the car back on the lot they blamed me for not telling them what I wanted. In which I did and they didn't tell me about any financing options and told me leasing was my only option. More
I walked onto the Dean Team lot back one afternoon at around 2:00 pm to "browse" what they had in stock and had no intentions of buying a car yet because I was upside down on my current loan. Somehow I around 2:00 pm to "browse" what they had in stock and had no intentions of buying a car yet because I was upside down on my current loan. Somehow I was talked into buying a car that night after the salesman wouldn't let me leave even though I kept insisting I would come back on Monday. When I finally got to drive away that night from the dealership it was after 7:30 pm. I did get to leave at about 5:30 to run home and get my son but only after I agreed to buy the dang car!! I returned to the dealership thinking the paperwork would be all done but instead, the guy hadn't even started. The salesman walks past me and says the finance guy is working on my papers now but then the saleman walks up about 10 minutes later and recognizes me then says he didn't know I had returned and he hadn't even started on my paperwork. When paperwork was done, I think I can leave, but no, the car plates hadnt been physically transferred onto the new car so I had to wait....and wait.....because the salesman didn't want to walk away from his new client. I had to get a manager to step in so the salesman would finish my transaction and let me go home! It was a long and trying affair so needless to say I wasn't paying attention to the details of the multiple forms I had to sign just so I could go home. The next day I start looking them over and realize I had been charged $199.00 just to buy a car from them! I also realized that I actually owed $2,400 less on my car then what I had projected during negotiations but they never told me this when they got the true payoff so they got an extra $2,400 off of me. Oh, and it gets worse....now today I go to the License Bureau to get the plates transferred and they tell me I owe $2,000.00 in sales tax!!!!! Why would a dealership NOT inform the buyer that this is all part of the deal and why would a dealership NOT include sales tax in the loan!!! This whole deal was a complete nightmare and I am so angry with this establishment at this time, I will no longer sit quiet. I feel all potential buyers need to be aware of the shenanigans they will encounter if they attempt to buy a car from Dean Team. I have attempted to contact the dealership to see if they want to set this right but no response as of yet. More
If you are willing to play the old fashioned car buying game that takes a good amount of time to get a good deal, this dealership is fine. Do not accept anything as straight forward. The negotiations are n game that takes a good amount of time to get a good deal, this dealership is fine. Do not accept anything as straight forward. The negotiations are not even close to over by the time you think you've struck a deal. That said, they did it with a smile, and the price was reasonable. It was worth it to me. Make sure you go in with good knowledge about the car you are buying and the one you are trading, if you have a trade in. Have some financing plan alternative if you have that luxury. Good hunting. A. J. was immediately responsive to what I needed to have done on my new vehicle (repair of a scratch that was on the vehicle when I bought it)and he made it happen very expeditiously. He also went out of hi done on my new vehicle (repair of a scratch that was on the vehicle when I bought it)and he made it happen very expeditiously. He also went out of his way to accomodate my work and travel schedule by driving me to work and having my repaired vehicle waiting for me at work upon my return from a business trip. I couldn't have asked for better service. More
We had 3 different sales people(one the sales manager), and all three of them were emotionally manipulative, financially untruthful, and flat out lied about the history reports and rarity of the cars. One and all three of them were emotionally manipulative, financially untruthful, and flat out lied about the history reports and rarity of the cars. One of the car reports they gave us was a car fax report for a similar vehicle, but my wife noticed that the VIN numbers were not the same - neither was the miles, condition, or amenities. When I calmly said 3 times that I was no longer interested in a particular car, they threatened to call the cops and have me thrown out out for my "disrespectful and non compliant nature", because I would not sign the papers. They had my wife in tears and were laughing and bragging about it. This is the only place I know off that lives up to the "used car salesman" notoriety. I have bought more than a dozen of used cars from nearly as many places and I have never experienced so much pressure and immortality. We later found out at ******** VW that Dean Team lied over 30 times to us as we were writing information down. Dean team came down over 7K on 2 cars and 5 K on another, but the price different was not enough to allows us to buy something that we could not trust from people we could not trust. We will never buy from dean team, even if they clean up their act. Spend the extra time to go to a reputable dealer like ********, and you will find that their prices are "pre-marked up" to make you feel like you are getting a good deal. More
My wife and I had an excellent experience with Zac, Dave and the entire Dean Team Staff. Zac was very knowledgeable about the car I wanted to purchase and allowed us to drive new and used models to help us and the entire Dean Team Staff. Zac was very knowledgeable about the car I wanted to purchase and allowed us to drive new and used models to help us make up our minds. I will not hesitate to refer friends and family to this dealership and to Zac for their new and used car purchases in the future. More
My husband and I spent two days at Bommarito VW and were a referral of close friends of the owner. Unfortunately, they were really unwilling to give their customers a fair trade in price. As always, I sho a referral of close friends of the owner. Unfortunately, they were really unwilling to give their customers a fair trade in price. As always, I should have went with my instinct after having test drove a VW Routan with Dave prior to visiting Bommarito. Since my family had worked for the dealership for many years, I was hoping there would be a bit of fairness involved.. After Bommarito went back and forth for a couple of days and came back with worse numbers than we had originally been given, my husband was ready to just throw in the towel on a new vehicle. I asked my husband to call Dave. Within a couple of hours, the DEAN TEAM was able to find what we needed, give us a fair trade on our vehicles and we both walked away with cars that we wanted at the price that the other dealer swore they couldn't do. Maybe their overhead is higher, I am just not sure. They may have been doing all they could do, but that means other dealers must have a bit more wiggle room (GOOD NOTE TO FUTURE BUYERS) Most importantly, Dave is by far the most down to earth salesman I have dealt with and has gained life long clients out of us. In addition, everyone in the dealership was friendly, customer service oriented and turned a horrible experience into a pleasant one. Thanks to everyone at the Dean Team and most importantly, Dave Schultz!! More
We contacted the Kirkwood Dean Team through their internet sales person Shane regarding a used car that we wanted to trade. We have dealt with a different local dealership for the past 7 years purch internet sales person Shane regarding a used car that we wanted to trade. We have dealt with a different local dealership for the past 7 years purchasing a number of cars and they were unwilling to give us fair market value for our 1 year old used Volkswagen. But not Shane and Dave. We talked with them by phone on a Friday, visited them the following Monday and walked out with fair market value on our used car and a great price on a new Volkswagen. From a car purchasing experience this couldn't have been a better experience. They met us at the door when we arrived, walked us through a number of car options, worked with us on what we were trying to accomplish, made sure I had my first service appointment scheduled, and detailed my car inside and out before letting us leave the dealership. We have now changed where we will do our car purchasing business...Dean Team has become our dealership of choice. More
I was looking for a dealership that would honor the national lease special advertised on the CC and sent the same email to several dealers in the STL area basically asking if they had the model and wou national lease special advertised on the CC and sent the same email to several dealers in the STL area basically asking if they had the model and would they honor the deal, and what would it be if I wanted 12k mi/yr instead of 10k. Dave responded very quickly with exactly what I asked for and was the only one that gave an actual number, not a range. I live 90 minutes away and wasn't able to make it to the dealership until 4 days later on Sat so gave a $500 deposit. Car was waiting when my wife and I got there, Dave handed me the keys, showed me a few things about the car and then left me alone to check it out. We moved two car seats over to see that everything fit and we were left to test drive on our own. Negotiation on my trade-in could not have gone any easier. I asked what I knew to be a fair price, not something way above market knowing I would have to be negotiated down, and they accepted. Left the lot more pleased than I have ever been with a car purchase. Only two things that could have gone easier were a couple of minor finance department issues. They didn't have my credit card number on file from the deposit so they couldn't return it to my card. Had to play a little phone tag because of vacations, but that was just as much my fault as theirs and I don't hold that against them at all. Only other thing was it took a little longer than I thought it would have to payoff my trade in, but I don't know if that was on there side or my bank's. Overall great experience, one of the top 2 easiest car purchases I've ever made. If you want someone who doesn't play games and treats you with respect go see Dave Schultz. I know I will next I'm looking for another VW. More
