The dealer you choose should not be based just about the car or price if you plan to continue a relationship with them such as service. In summary: Seemingly mismanaged service departments, with a few g car or price if you plan to continue a relationship with them such as service. In summary: Seemingly mismanaged service departments, with a few good people, are driven more on just getting by and making money. That is, instead of focusing on the customer and understanding the value of customers time and needs. I’ve been lied to and left to feel like I’m the one putting DePaula out. I made a mistake leaving Denooyer. The problems (in short due to limited space): - Car goes into service. Given back with big dent and scratch. Happened in DePaula’s service hands. Car is only 6-7 months old and less than 5,000 miles. This can be forgiven however: - Even though they agreed to fix it, I was made to feel like this was my fault and I was causing them problems. Almost like I made it up. That was the fault of the first service manager I spoke to. - No communication between staff about my issue. - Lied to multiple times; basically, staff telling me other staff’s comments were not true. - Car promised on Friday, 5 days after dropped off. Received finally after a week and a half. I was actually told on Friday it was ready but called back several hours later told they looked up the wrong car. - Almost none of the promised follow up on my car. I had to initiate communication almost every time and nobody knew what was going on or my history. Where is my car? - Went through multiple people. Again, no communication. Folks kept disappearing and calling in suddenly (I can only wonder what is going on in this place). At least 4 times promised a call back with no call back. - I was offered an oil change for my trouble and told by them that was fair. Seriously? They know what I consider makes this right? I gave them an option to make me happy and that option was lost with all the different hands my vehicle passed to. - If I didnt mention the environmental protection when I picked it up they never would have scheduled me to come back to get it. Glad I remembered. Another detail overlooked. - Somehow there is indication at least 60 miles put on my car after dropped off. What?! How? No wonder the car was delayed. Were they taking it for a joy ride? I called today on my own time to give them an opportunity to speak to it and nobody called back in true DePaula fasion. I have to deal with them one more time to get the environmental protection put on the door that was fixed but after that Im done here. More

poor service Malibu nightmare purchased a certified 2016 Chevrolet Malibu in October 2019 nothing but issues since day one. Sales Department lady was very nice Malibu nightmare purchased a certified 2016 Chevrolet Malibu in October 2019 nothing but issues since day one. Sales Department lady was very nice Jackie Dolon but her sales manger Randy was very pushy and didn't listen to my needs. I ended up buying the car drove it out of Depaula parking lot and heard a "WATER NOISE" under my dash board. I continued went home had my guy who works on my cars "GM Certified" tells me my antifreeze was done 1 gal I had him fill it notified Depaula that same day!!! besides that issue I noticed my drivers side door handle isn't unlocking car like it should. reported that as well to Depaula and heard a noise rear passenger area a "clunking noise" when going over bumps. was taken back to Depaula due to a strike by "GM" my car sat in Depaula's parking lot for 5 weeks. yes they did give me a loaner car but this is certified how did they not hear the noise or know that this car had a serious coolant leak during inspection?? so here we are may 2020 car went back for all issues I will admit no more noise under dash and door handle was replaced as it was a electrical issue I was told?? but still noise in passenger rear side they have attempted to resolve the issue which there a bullentin on this for 2016-2018 Malibu's yet still not completed. plus recently problems with the sales dept as I was looking to buy another car a left over 2019 Malibu. never got a call back. I reached out to sales dept twice and still nothing. I emailed "general manger" still no reply back. point is never go to depaula once they get ur money they don't care of u...awful experience More
I am giving DePaula 5 stars, even though the $650 repair on my coolant system lasted only three days and even though a promised return phone call was never made. How can this be, you ask? Well, the greate on my coolant system lasted only three days and even though a promised return phone call was never made. How can this be, you ask? Well, the greatest test of anyone is how they handle a mistake. Do they admit and fix or lie and ignore? I can say with all sincerity that Rob in service and Kevin in the shop not only admitted their error but immediately got on it and fixed the issue. This is a class dealership. My wife and I just moved to the area from Long Island and DePaula is by far the best dealer that we have ever experienced. They really do care, they do not give you a line of crap and they are just plain nice. I highly respect them. More

I must say I am extremely please with the way I am treated from the time I pull into the Garage to the Greeting from the Service Manager to the Inspection Video that is provided , even to mention the shuttle team that gets me back and forth. I personnally work on a National Customer Service Team, and must say the dedication of the Employees at Depaula must be commented. In the past I have voiced my Pleasure of Mike on the Blue Team and Mark Vandenburg. But this time Robert Jansen was my Service Rep, and he went the extra mile to ensure I was treated well and my vehicle received the Service it needed. YES, I WILL BE BACK!!!! More

The second time they tried to tell me it was my fault and charge me $1000. It wasn’t until I asked them for the information in writing that they told me all the cost was covered. Then they had my car for ONE AND AND HALF MONTHS. I finally get my car back and my windshield wipers weren’t working. They tell me again this is my fault and won’t let me do the New York State inspection without paying them to fix my windshield wipers that were working fine when I left my car here. We went to Depaula Chevrolet in Albany on September 30,2019 with no appointment and hoping they would be able to look at the car. We met Rob Jansen in the Service Department who took our information and told us it may be a wait, but he would have someone look at it. Rob kept us informed on the work being done and could not have been any more professional. I told Rob we lived in Nantucket and were on a boat in 2 days to get home. My car was repaired and I cannot say enough about the service we received and how wonderful we were treated by Rob. The entire team at Depaula was wonderful to us. Thanks for having such personable and caring team members!!! Rob is a superstar!!!! More
A shakedown My wife and I (both DePaula customers) are absolutely beside ourselves with anger and frustration with the service department at this dealership. We'v My wife and I (both DePaula customers) are absolutely beside ourselves with anger and frustration with the service department at this dealership. We've had nothing but headaches since purchasing our vehicles a few years ago. Prior to a recent incident, which is main subject of this review, most of the problems we’ve experienced with DePaula concerned customer service and communication (confusing my wife's account with my own for oil changes, etc.). However, most recently, my wife’s vehicle suffered a fuel system malfunction. We had the vehicle towed to DePaula for repairs. At the very onset, the service representative misled her as to the nature of the problem and potential cost of repairs. It was confirmed by a seasoned mechanic friend of ours that she was given wrong information and we were being grossly overcharged in the quote. With little choice available to us given the prohibitive financial cost of having the vehicle towed elsewhere and limited time due to work obligations, etc., we decided that DePaula could perform initial repairs on the condition that they keep us apprised of the problem and estimated cost. They didn't do so. After four days in possession of the vehicle, we were told that the car was repaired and ready to be picked up. It was released back to my wife, ostensibly with the repairs completed. To our great dismay, the car died only minutes later in a store parking lot. My wife was stuck there in the freezing cold until 10 pm. She had the car towed back to DePaula the next morning, where it was examined again and started, or so we were told. The car was released back to her. Within several miles of the dealership, it died yet again. Upon trying to secure another tow from DePaula, they initially tried billing her for it. With the car back at DePaula for the third time in a week, it was explained that more costly repairs were needed, which was simply outrageous and unacceptable to us. My wife asked several times to speak to a service manager, but kept getting stonewalled. Phone calls weren’t returned. Yet, the car remained with DePaula for further repairs. After 2 1/2 weeks without the vehicle and getting endless runaround, my wife was finally contacted to pick the vehicle up. Upon doing so, she found that the car was dirty, the fuel light was on and dirty dishes were left on the passenger floorboard (see photo). Sadly, we can’t say we’re the least bit surprised. It just adds to the list of ways in which we were terribly mistreated by this dealership. The lack of professionalism and competence and total disregard for the safety and wellbeing of customers is something that should be investigated and corrected immediately. The professional conduct and behavior we were shown is unethical and altogether reprehensible. We feel like we were taken advantage of and would even go as far as to say we could be the unfortunate victims of fraud. I highly encourage anyone in the market for a vehicle (or vehicle service) to avoid this dealership. There are many other options in the Albany, NY area. Save yourself the time, hassle and money. Save yourself from being the victim of a shakedown. More
