I've been slowly looking for a car over the past year or so. I came to the dealer multiple times to test drive multiple cars (all with Matt), and he was absolutely patient and helpful. Any time I had a question, he was quick to answer, or to tell me he didn't know the answer but that he would find out and get back to me. And amazingly, he would always call me back within the next 24 hours with an answer to my question. I appreciate the fact that he knew what he didn't know and wouldn't make up an answer more than you can imagine. I hate dealers that lie, and I have walked out of dealerships before when told something that I knew for a fact was not true. I never had that issue working with Matt. I have never had him tell me something untrue, and I have never had him try to hard-sell me, making me much more comfortable and ensuring that I would definitely come back. In fact, this is my second new Mazda that I have bought from Matt. The first time was such a great experience, and he got me such a good price, that I came back to buy my second car 3 years after buying the first. Basically, Matt is what I consider an ideal car salesman. He does not push you to buy ASAP, but by making you comfortable, he ensures your business. My wife also loved working with him, and she's much more untrusting of salesman than I am. If you're considering a Mazda (and you should, the new Mazda 6 is an amazing machine), you can't go wrong with coming to Mazda of Clear Lake and asking for Matt. No matter how long it takes you to decide on a car, Matt will work with you, never steer you wrong, and answer all your questions honestly and truthfully. More

After having my engine die (covered under warranty), my vehicle was taken to Mazda of Clear Lake on May 22nd. After being told my vehicle would be ready on the 10th or 11th, they kept pushing the date back vehicle was taken to Mazda of Clear Lake on May 22nd. After being told my vehicle would be ready on the 10th or 11th, they kept pushing the date back. The 13th or 14th. On the 17th. Finally, on the 19th, they told me they 'by chance' found a problem with a cooling fan. Not having a satisfactory answer as to why this was important, or if it was covered under my warranty, I decided to call Mazda to express my concerns about the length of time it was taking, as well as the strangeness of the man handeling my case. They said it wasn't covered, but it's strange this is taking so long and they would call Mazda of Clear Lake for me. I also decided to have my boyfriend call to get more information about the car (I don't claim to understand cars at all). He called, left a message, and received a call back from the man handeling my car- who BERATED him for my 'badmouthing' him to Mazda. Now, if he had a PROBLEM with what I said, he should have spoken to ME rather than my boyfriend. However, my nightmare doesn't end there. I spoke to the service manager and he 'counseled' the young man in question, and took some money off the service charge. Fine. Then he calls me a few days later and said they broke my radiator. Don't worry, I was told, we broke it, so it will be of no cost to you. Imagine my surprise this morning when I FINALLY went to pick up my car (The 26th of JUNE), to find that I was charged for the fan AND the radiator. Not labor, but the parts. I didn't say anything to the service manager, just wanting to LEAVE this place!! Waiting on a call back from the GM........ More
