This was not a good experience. I found a preowned vehicle from our company’s benefits hub website. I test drove the vehicle, the car fax was clean, the vehicle looked nice and seemed to run fairly we vehicle from our company’s benefits hub website. I test drove the vehicle, the car fax was clean, the vehicle looked nice and seemed to run fairly well so I purchased the crossover SUV. The financing was done through my own bank. I also did a trade in. The issue comes the next day because I noticed the car swaying while driving and I wasn’t moving the steering wheel. I took the car the next day to my local dealership for a diagnostic and long story short there were critical things wrong with the car that made it unsafe. I call Demontrond Mazda back and forwarded the diagnostic the local dealership performed to show multiple things wrong with the car that totaled over $3k worth of work. I was told that Demontrond Mazda wouldn’t be able to do anything about that and that Texas doesn’t have a Lemon law. I asked how can I can my trade in back as I didn’t want to drive an unsafe car and was told I would receive a call from the manager but that never happened either. My next steps is to talk to corporate and then legal if need be. Very unprofessional and would not recommend or use them again. More

Very simple dealership. Place was clean and the sales folks were very polite. We were met by Alan Cihlar who did a fine job for us! Every time I followed up with a question after our initial visit, he answered the question and didn't "hound" us into coming back to the dealership. Once we were there to "fish or cut bait" we went back and forth until we met at a fair price. Allan wasn't involved in most of that (their manager was) but either way we didn't feel forced to make a deal that day. In the end I think everybody was happy and thus far, after a couple months I can tell you the CX-5 we bought far exceeds your expectations! I highly recommend their dealership and ever more recommend a Mazda product! More

Below is the letter that was sent.... 1-31-2021 Good Morning Austin, I appreciate you following up on my visit this past week to Demontrond Mazda. This response maybe a little longer than most but I feel it needs to be said. I have always had a positive experience at this dealership until my last visit. First I would like to say that I have truly enjoyed my Mazda vehicle, in fact it is one that I was considering when purchasing my next vehicle, but not any longer. The reason is the Demontrond dealership which would be my local dealership. On Jan. 26th I went into the dealership to see if they could assist me in getting my license plate lights replace. I had the lights with me as I had purchased them thinking Auto Zone could replace them on site. They could not. I went into the offices and was promptly greeted by one of the gentlemen on staff. I told him what I needed and asked him the cost. He said he would need to check with the shop and in the meantime handed me over to another gentleman probably in his early 30’s but appeared to be the one in charge, while he went to check on the cost. This young man walked with me out to my car as I was explaining to him what I was wanting. He listened then informed me that he would gladly change it right here for me but changing out this light entailed removing the panel above the license plate. I was shocked and said, “You are kidding” he said no it should be easier than that but it wasn’t. I am an older women that is not knowledgeable about vehicles. (This statement should not be necessary, but it is relevant, because I don’t feel that this would of occurred with a knowledgeable male.) At this time he informed me that they could change it out for me. He walked me back in the building, the other man that was checking on the cost returned and said it was a .5 hour job so it would be between $50-$60. I said well if that panel has to come out I don’t have a choice and proceeded to the waiting area. I immediately sent a text to my son-in-law explaining the situation. He immediately responded with “That panel does not have to be removed!”. I went straight back to the young man in charge and informed him of what my son-in-law had just told me. I also told him the information came from a Mazda website. The young man in charge asked that I send him the link that my son-in-law had found. Took about 2 minutes but then he had the link. He pulled the link up on his computer but never addressed that he was incorrect or that he had lied to me. He just kind of sat there looking at the link. I asked for my vehicle. I went straight to my son-in-law he popped off the cover changed the lights in less than 5 minutes, no tools needed at all. Over the last year I have had my vehicle in for service that was recommended by your dealership. It really makes me wonder how much I was overcharged and lied to by people that were working at this dealership. Needless to say I will not be returning to this dealership and I am very, very disappointed that people that you have working for you are able to operate in this manner. I feel like I would be taken advantage of at every turn. There is no longer any trust in this business and will not be a future Mazda customer. Sincerely, Carol Shefcik More

With the help of the sales manager AK and another consultant Jorge, they offered us the best deal and exactly what we were looking for. They went above and beyond to not only meet our needs but exceed them. Towards the end of the sale it started raining outside and they invited our 9 month old 115 lb mastiff puppy inside their sales room. They really treated us like family and we are very grateful for the service that they provided. Seriously- best dealership experience hands down! I would recommend in a heartbeat! More

Very much better than some other encounters of ours with high pressure sales and finance people. NOT A GOOD EXPERIENCE. Allen (salesman) was knowledgeable and easy to work with. Worked out the deal and went to see their finance guy Karim to do the paperwork. He said we qualified for a 4th year on the maintenance package and 3 extra months of our finance rate with no mention of costing more. Great we thought. Too good to be true. When it was all said and done we were charged $1500 for the 4th year and to get the extra months of financing was with a $2500 service contract. We told them we did not agree to that. Karim said we did. He never brought up any extra cost and we felt misled. Karim argued with us and said he did not mislead us but did acknowledge that he did not bring up the cost. To say you get something without saying it is going to cost extra and how much IS MISLEADING. If you are going to buy a car here I would double and triple check your contract. More
