If you have a lifetime power train warranty with the dealership you had better be aware of the fine print otherwise they’ll act like they have no idea about it. It requires that you bring your vehicle i dealership you had better be aware of the fine print otherwise they’ll act like they have no idea about it. It requires that you bring your vehicle in for an inspection once every 5 years within 60 days of the vehicles in service date. Don’t let the service advisor try and convince you that you don’t need it. Bring a copy of your agreement with you, and ask for a manager if they don’t do this free inspection, and mark it on your paperwork. 3 different employees all acted like they had no clue what I was talking about, and tried insisting that I didn’t need it! Don’t accept that answer. Be firm, but polite. Ask for the manager if your service advisor doesn’t schedule the free inspection. It’s not the same as the 40-point inspection they do when you bring your vehicle in for service. Oh and that 40-point inspection they do, it’s a joke. In my experience, they seem to just automatically mark everything as pass unless the vehicle is at a certain mileage for recommended service. I know they didn’t measure the tread depth on all 4 of my tires either, because if they had they’d have realized that one of the tires were brand new, and it’s tread was not the same as the other 3 original tires. Heck, had they actually done that 40 point inspection maybe they’d have even noticed that my wiper blades badly needed to be replaced. But since they seem to only go by your vehicle’s mileage..they passed it , not once, or twice, but 3 different times! If you bring your vehicle in for service, don’t be afraid to seek out a 2nd opinion before you hand over your hard earned money if they claim your vehicle needs work. Just because they say you need something doesn’t make it true. More
