Third time is the charm Nov. 2018 Brought my Impala in for Service because if it sat unused for 2 days, it had to be jumped. Had the battery tested at multiple locations and all said the battery was good. Requested Days find the drain. Days diagnosed a bad battery and replaced it. Jan 2019 Returned from an out of town trip of 8 days and had to jump the Impala at the airport parking lot to get it started. Managed to get the car up to Days 2 days later. Explained the situation and again requested they find the drain on the battery. Second diagnosis: Bad battery. The battery they put in in Nov. must have been bad. Replaced with new battery again. May 2019 Returned from a 12-day out-of-town trip. Battery was completely dead. I had purchased a battery jump starter which I had fully-charged and placed in the car. Arrived home, an 1 hour away, at 9 pm. At 8 am the next morning, the battery was completely dead again. Jumped it again and went to pick up our pets. Car could not be restarted after picking up dogs. Jump battery was only half full at this point and since the battery was completely drained and not holding a charge, even jumping from another vehicle was not possible, Recharged the battery jump box to full, jumped the battery and drove directly to Days and left it there explaining EVERYTHING again. This time they found that the driver's seat electronics were constantly draining the battery. They replaced the battery and fixed the seat electronics. Days charged me for both the battery replacement in November and another $361 for the seat electronics. At least they didn't charge for the two replacement batteries. In my opinion, I should have at least been credited the initial bad battery diagnosis as it was obviously incorrect. In reality, if the company was more customer oriented, they should have covered the driver's seat electronics in an act of customer goodwill. More
