I am native to the Gainesville area and have used Davis Chevrolet's service department for different issues with my Corvettes over the past 10 or so years. Today I was seriously considering trading in my Z Chevrolet's service department for different issues with my Corvettes over the past 10 or so years. Today I was seriously considering trading in my Z06 for a C8 in Davis' showroom. I had pleasant conversation with Wes, who was very helpful and we made an appointment for me to bring in my car to consider trade in value. I completely understand the need to make a profit, but I came in with recent and accurate knowledge about the value of my car for trade in. I was very, very disappointed with the very low number offered for a car that "looks new" and is immaculate condition. The part that upsets me is that I was told a low number and they were not willing to negotiate at all. I wasn't asking for what they would sell if for on trade, I was asking for a fair price for my car. I felt like the price on their car was good, it wasn't even a point of discussion. Bottom line, I feel like they just didn't want to sell me the car!! Is it because I am a woman and know and understand pricing on cars, because I do it a lot? It was a VERY DISAPPOINTING experience. While Wes was pleasant and I will come to the service department, I will NOT be darkening the doors of the showroom floor again. More
The car was in for service 2. 5 weeks ago where I was told that my car had several leaks in my coolant hoses along with other leaks. (All were supposed to be replaced) On Tuesday 5 weeks ago where I was told that my car had several leaks in my coolant hoses along with other leaks. (All were supposed to be replaced) On Tuesday afternoon my car ran hot and the check engine light came on again. When I stopped and check there was NO COOLANT in the car. I bought coolant and filled up that night. Upon taking my car to the dealership I was told that my water pump was seized up. I asked if this could be cause by there not being any coolant in the car. I was told a definitely not by Carla. Told me that there was no way that could happen, and she said that there was coolant in the system. (I filled up the night before when it ran hot and I found it empty) Upon researching online I found that it is possible. The water pump would freeze up because of no coolant. There seems to be no reason for my water pump to fail this way. More
