Our apologies to this customer that we were not able to duplicate the no start issue on his truck. With regard to our $108 per hour labor rate, it is actually very competitive, not only when compared to other dealers but also to independent repair shops. We charge 3% of the labor to cover shop supplies (also very competitive), which in this case was a little over $3. As always, we will continue to strive for 100% customer satisfaction. Sorry to all for such a long delay in responding to this review. As we discussed, and of course apologized for, during this customer's visit, we made multiple mistakes. We had accidentally included a $750 GM factory rebate in our quote that this customer didn't actually qualify for. Once we discovered that the customer did not qualify, we should have simply honored the net price immediately. This did not happen immediately, but at the time I was happy to hear that we ended up giving our customer this discount anyway. We then made another error on our buyer's order and erroneously added a $270 charge that should not have been there. As we explained to our customer, neither one of these was intentional by any means as we simply do not conduct business that way. We believe strongly in the customer experience, and we will continue to improve our processes and customer service across the board. Matt Davis Owner/General Manager Davis Chevrolet

Davis Chevrolet, being in business since 1959. has built an reputation as being a dealer that multiple generations can trust. This particular customer had sent an internet based request for a 2005 Ford King Ranch truck. This customer did not reside in the immediate Houston area. While it is not uncommon for some our customers to purchase a pre-owned vehicle and have it shipped to them , it is not usually done with a trade-in involved (although we do not discourage the practice). We do give a reasonable expectation of value of the trade based on pictures and description from the customer. Such is the case that this reviewer writes about. In the case of this reviewer, we held the 2005 Ford truck as a courtesy (without deposit) for a week, as the customer worked with his bank to get a loan. The difference of the amount he was approved for was a few thousand less than the selling price. The customer then said he could trade in a somewhat restored, Drivable 1977 Ford truck. The customer gave us a positive description of his trade. This description of his 1977 Ford indicated that the truck drove great and didn’t have any major body panel damage. He emailed a couple of pictures (that only showed one side of the truck). We didn’t question him on sending us pictures of the entire truck because we felt he was being truthful in that there weren’t any severely damaged panels. We figured, “why would anyone misrepresent their trade if they had to come from out of town?”. So, we placed an estimated value of $5000.00. A couple of days before arriving to Houston, the customer contacted our salesperson and told him that he was going to trailer the truck in as it had been overheating when he went to start it. Our salesperson told him we will need to look at in person to place a new value based on a repair for the overheating. He set an appointment to show our management the truck. When his truck was trailered in, we saw a much rougher vehicle than was indicated to us. It was revealed that the truck was overheating and running rough due to a blown head gasket! Incomplete interior, sagging headliner, and several large dents had been seemingly omitted from the pictures and description. While we were not expecting a show car, we did expect it to move under its own power and not have hard body damage (which again was omitted from his description and pictures). The vehicle, therefore, was worth less than the original estimate. We offered him a very fair amount for a his 1977 trade ($3000), but his bank would not approve him for any additional monies. It is an unfortunate event; however we have learned to use additional scrutiny and diligence when it comes to out of town customers.
