This last visit for service left me with a negative feeling concerning the ethics of the service writer I dealt with. I was scheduled for a transmission service and was told there was a substantial up feeling concerning the ethics of the service writer I dealt with. I was scheduled for a transmission service and was told there was a substantial upcharge to the normal price because my RDX had a nine-speed transmission. I know my RDX does not contain a nine-speed transmission and challenged the service writer. He conceded that I was correct and removed the upcharge. If I didn't know my car's specs and didn't challenge the service writer I would have been charged substantially more. After the state inspection was done the service writer VERY strongly suggested that I replace both the front and rear brakes as well as the rotors. He gave me a cock and bull story about the brake pads slipping out if they weren't replaced. There was enough brake pad left to pass state inspection. It is a shame that I have lost all confidence in Davis Acura's service department. This is the 3rd automobile I've purchased from Davis and will probably be the last. My wife is planning to purchase a new car next month and we are removing Acura from the list of prospective cars. More
