Dodge makes a very specialized tool that would identify the specific part failing. My mechanic scheduled an appointment at Royal Gate in Columbia, IL for this test. My driver took the truck there and left his # as a contact when it was done. Instead of doing the requested test -- they did their OWN diagnostics and charged us $95 for THAT, first. Then called the driver -- their point of contact -- and said more testing was required, which he approved, not realizing the ONLY thing they had done is what WE had already done' not what we had asked for. My bill today was for $240 when I was told on the phone THAT test was $95. A failure to communicate or bait and switch? More

Took the car on vacation - transmission broke - nobody would help, almost ruined vacation. They replace the transmission - next day it overheats and breaks down. Magically there are no codes and they can't replicate any problems with the car. "Come pick it up, it's safe to drive." Yeah right - like I'm going to let my wife drive a car that will break down with no warning or signs of problem - and drive my kids around in it. This place is horrible for customer service, they don't care - the service department refuses to take ownership that they dropped the ball and the owner of the dealership refuses to make things right. The simply don't care - they got my money and that's all they care about. More
I brought my Dodge Caravan in to have the oil changed. I had noticed oil on my garage floor and mentioned this to Chris Quick in the service department when I dropped my car off. After the oil change, the mechanic looked at length for an oil leak and after not finding one, said he just couldn't find any location where a leak was. He said they could put some dye in to check and I agreed for them to do this, but still couldn't find where it was coming from. I was very impressed when Chris explained the situation to me. I was impressed with the mechanic and I'm sorry I don't remember his name. They could have recommended a costly repair but instead suggested I take it home and place a tray to catch a sample of what the fluid was because it could be another fluid. That night I placed a tray under the car and the next morning, nothing was in the tray! I took my car back to Royal Gate for my appointment and told Chris Quick. He said and I agree that the old oil filter had been leaking and after getting my oil changed, the problem was taken care of. I love Royal Gate Dodge because they are the most honest dealership I know! More

I bought a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4x4 from them in July 2013. The vehicle has been in 4 times for electrical issues and recalls. I asked to trade the vehicle in and they only wanted to give me $24000 in trade when the vehicle cost me $33000 four months earlier. I told them to shove their offer. I would not buy from Royal Gate ever again due to the fact they do not back up their products. I buy a new vehicle every 3 years so they lost some good business. I have opened a case with the BBB, Chrysler and also called the Attorney General's office for MO about their lack of follow up and standing behind the product they sell. More

My former Chrysler dealer closed. Got a coupon for an oil change for $24.95 at Royal Gate Chrysler on Manchester Road. I knew it would be about $100, however, because the Crossfire takes 8 quarts of syntheti change for $24.95 at Royal Gate Chrysler on Manchester Road. I wanted to establish a relationship with a dealership near my home. Made an appt for an oil change to avoid long wait. Still waited over 1 1/2 hours and then was given a bill for $140 for an oil change---after $10 bucks off for the coupon! Protested that, telling the manager I'd never paid more than $105 at my former dealership since I bought it in 2004. He went back and "adjusted" the bill to $120. To compare, I just called Glendale Chrysler and their regular price is $114. Dobb's has a special now at $77. Moral of the story....don't use Royal Gate for any maintenance work! More
We have had our Dodge Journey in 8 times, thats right 8 times for the brakes, this time it actually went in also for the transmission being out at 39000 miles as well. They refuse to replace the brakes at no cost to us, even though they have the past 7 times, and even though they say it is the same problem. The corporate office refuses to talk to us. In other words, if a dealer is not going to stand behind there product that has had continuous problems with the brakes every 5000 miles then don't use them. It is YOU the customer who will be paying for them. We will never use Royal Gate Dodge again, and I can guarantee to you that none of the many friends that we have will use them either. The people in the service department were just rude. We bought a vehicle from West Bros Dodge many years ago and had a problem and that dealer stood behind it even though it wasn't under warranty. I guess his reputation was more important than Royal Gates. If and I do mean if we ever buy a Chrysler product again, we will go the extra miles and go back to West Bros Dodge. The sad part is, you don't always get what you paid for, and unfortunately we are still paying for a vechicle with many problems, and a dealership that does not want to acknowledge them. More

Yesterday, we made an appointment for a water pump replacement. The appt was for 5:30pm. We were told it would take until about 7:00 to 7:30 pm. We finally got out of the dealer at about 10:15 pm. I heard "we are sorry" about 6 times, but this did not help the fact that we wasted the complete evening, at a time when we could not afford any wasted time. As I sat for hours waiting, I also noted that customer after customer was greeted one of the service persons, telling them of how much extra their repairs would be. I will never go back to this dealer !!!!!!!!!!! More
