Beware Took our older car in to Royal Gate Dodge for a repair. Dealer said it would cost $1100 to fix after hooking it up to the computer. Drove it home and it now is driving worse than before. Receipt says fixed for life. Took it back to Dealer who's computer now says the problem is something else that will cost $800 more. At this point I'm not really believing that if I go through with this part, I won't have another part to replace tomorrow. After speaking with the manager of service, they won't stand behind their repair or their original diagnosis. Beware- they are either scamming people or don't know what they are doing. Run far away from these people! More

They would make me make an appointment a week a head of time and then let my truck sit on the lot for the entire day when I drop it off at 10am for a simple trailer brake controller instal. They ended up keeping it all day even though I was told it would be done in 3 hours or less, calling me at 5:30 pm to let me know I was going to be without a vehicle and that if I wanted a rental I would have to make it to the dealership by 6pm when that department closes. Ridiculous dealings. I bought my truck new from this dealer. Not how you should treat local customers. More

Buyer Beware I took my 2014 Jeep Cherokee for a recall on Friday 10/9/15. My agreement provides for a no charge loaner car. The young lady, Roysl,Gate employee, and I walked around the loaner to inspect for damages. Both of us discussed prior damage to several rims. When I returned the car, a young R G rep told me I damaged the rims. The service manager came, and said that it was new damage and I was responsible. The general manager, Aaron came and the three of us went to the car. I asked for the name of the dealership owner and whatever office governs customers complaints. The GM told me I was threatening him. He did call the initial representative and let me hear their conversation via speaker. She confirmed that previous damage was there. This is the second time an attempt has been made to charge me with damages I did not do. First time was with my newly purchased 2013 Liberty. Based upon the young lady's honesty I was not charged, and hope she was not terminated because she told the truth. Their actions makes me wonder how many customers have been billed for damages they did not cause. I have also made several complaints because my front defroster does not work properly only to be told nothing is wrong with it. I will never purchase another car from Royal Gate nor give any recommendations to anyone I know. More

Lifetime oil changes are hard to receive even though they have an express service (hour and a half wait time). The oil change always results in being told that I need to have useless up charge services. Also, the quality of the oil change is bad, like not putting the oil cap back on, resulting in oil all over the engine compartment. When you point out an issue you are immediately told that you are wrong. Multiple people in line were told they do not know what is going on. Also, the sales and service representatives are now called "Advisors". Car rental with appointment still resulted in over an hour wait for a smoke filled, dirty pickup truck. Warranty claims get lost and after multiple months you are asked to purchase the parts. More

This place is horrible for customer service, they don't care , the service department refuses to take ownership that they dropped the ball and the owner of the dealership refuses to make things right, they got my money and that's all they care about. Dodge makes a very specialized tool that would identify the specific part failing. My mechanic scheduled an appointment at Royal Gate in Columbia, IL for this test. My driver took the truck there and left his # as a contact when it was done. Instead of doing the requested test -- they did their OWN diagnostics and charged us $95 for THAT, first. Then called the driver -- their point of contact -- and said more testing was required, which he approved, not realizing the ONLY thing they had done is what WE had already done' not what we had asked for. My bill today was for $240 when I was told on the phone THAT test was $95. A failure to communicate or bait and switch? More

Took the car on vacation - transmission broke - nobody would help, almost ruined vacation. They replace the transmission - next day it overheats and breaks down. Magically there are no codes and they can't replicate any problems with the car. "Come pick it up, it's safe to drive." Yeah right - like I'm going to let my wife drive a car that will break down with no warning or signs of problem - and drive my kids around in it. This place is horrible for customer service, they don't care - the service department refuses to take ownership that they dropped the ball and the owner of the dealership refuses to make things right.
