Short version: David Stanley will lie and tell you vehicles are available even if they are not, to get you into the dealership. Would never consider visiting again. Spoke with a manager directly to confirm it was available and on the lot. When we arrived, we were told it was already sold at auction and tried to show us other vehicles. When we tried to leave, the manager (Israel) approached our car and said even though it sold at auction, it had not been picked up yet, so we could buy it for the price it sold for, which was $8,000 more than the list price! Obviously, we declined. Two days later, I noticed the vehicle was still listed on the David Stanley website. So I called to inquire, and was again told the vehicle was still available, and confirmed the price! When I pressed if it was on the lot, I was told it might be having problems and in service. I asked to speak to Israel, and he informed me the vehicle was available for sale but was being serviced so not on the lot at the moment. Once I informed him we'd already been in on Wednesday, and he realized he'd spoken to us then—he suddenly switched stories and told us he was confused about which vehicle we were talking about (even though I'd provided the stock number). He then switched back to the story he'd told us Wednesday, the vehicle was already sold at auction. I pressed if it was still on the lot and he told me it had been picked up so was gone. When I pressed him on why it was still on the website, and why the price was still being lowered even after being sold, he provided various excuses, and could not provide a timeline for when it would be taken off the site, claiming he would need the "IT Guy" to be in to remove it, and then it would take at least 24 hours.
