Awesome Sales Team (Mossab and JP), Unethical Finance Team From the moment I was referred to David McDavid, I was impressed with them. The first sales professional I met with was Mosaab Barazi. My wife and I were comfortable with him, immediately. Mossab was one of the most thorough, professional, friendly and service-conscious salesman I have ever met. The transaction with him was an absolute pleasure and David McDavid is very lucky to have him. We purchased a new 2017 Honda Pilot from Mossab and we would absolutely work with him, again. The issue with this dealership came when dealing with the snakes in the finance department, specifically, Ondra Calvert. I have never spoken to such an unprofessional, unethical, dismissive snake-oil representative of a car dealership than this guy. When I started the financing process, I presented my approval letter from my financial institution (also my employer), of which I was going to use for the financing for the vehicle. The financing I was given by my company was 72 months at 3.24 APR, on a $39,648 purchase price. After buying one accessory and the extended warranty, the pricing went up approximately $1,900. I would have never known this would have been an issue, because EVERY piece of paper I signed indicated the name of my employer's company as the financing entity I would be using to purchase in the background. We left the dealership happy and in our new Pilot. Two days later I saw that we had SEVEN inquires on our credit through various financial institutions. I called Mossab to find out what was going on and he connected me with our original finance guy who, in turn, sent me to Ondra to answer my obvious questions. Ondra informed me that "we can finance with whoever we want, because we have a signed credit app from you". I told the guy that I had a letter with a pre-authorization and that I am a Senior Vice President with the company I was going to use. He told me (VERBATIM), "we don't care who our customers finance through, as long as we get paid". Those were his EXACT words. My wife and I were absolutely stunned to hear this. Bottom line, apparently, my bank raised the rate a bit due to the increase in sales price. Instead of TELLING ME this and giving me a chance to make a simple phone call to take care of it, they went ahead and sent my deal over to a credit union, with whom I had no intention of using. They had no intention of telling me about this. If I hadn't noticed the credit pulls, I wouldn't have known until I received my first bill from the Credit Union. Bottom line, Ondra is an absolute snake. He is a disgrace to his profession and has no business dealing with people, in any capacity. The guy has no moral compass and couldn't care less about my concern since, as he stated, "as long as he gets paid", everything is ok. Please be very warned about this dealership. I have attempted to reach out to the GM, Sonia; however, I'm sure she won't be bothered with my inquiry. I have routed this issue to my attorney for additional review, as I am certain (beyond the clear ethical issue here) there has to be some statute that would prevent this dealership with entering me into a deal with a financial institution without my authorization or knowledge. It's a shame, because this is our 4th Honda and I really enjoyed working with Mossab and JP, who are both professional and fantastic, with whom to work. Ondra gives this dealership an enormous black eye and if you are considering buying anything from this dealership, feel good about the sales team but be VERY careful of the back office. They don't care about you. They just want your money, period. ------------------------------------------------------ Edit for 8/25/17: I just spoke with Sonia, the GM of David McDavid. She could not have been more professional and apologetic, relative to the behavior of her employee, Ondra Calvert. It is abundantly clear that Ondra is the exception to the positive/professional culture she demands from her dealership. To be fair, everyone I encountered at David McDavid was reflective of the culture, except Ondra. If Ondra is removed from the dealership, David McDavid would be the perfect Honda dealership, from whom to purchase a vehicle. More
Wonderfil dealership I cannot say enough about David McDavid Honda in Frisco. Everyone goes out of their way to help you. Even the GM Sonia took time to help us. Farid was very friendly and willing to work with me and my needs and they give out frequent incentives and deals on maintenance and other items.
