Dalton is the service advisor that helped us and he was great! He kept us informed every step of the way, he provided a loaner car so that we didn’t have to sit there all day, and overall he was just very great! TL;DR: If they damage your vehicle, they will only offer a cheap fix and not make you whole, if you can even get a response in the first place. If you decline their cheap fix, they won't help you at all. a cheap fix and not make you whole, if you can even get a response in the first place. If you decline their cheap fix, they won't help you at all. I left this dealership once because I saw their service going downhill and guess I'm doing that again even. The full story... On 4/11/20, I used David McDavid Honda of Frisco to do multiple services on my car and spent over $2200. At the time, they were one of a few dealerships doing the pickup/dropoff from your house, which was great during the COVID lockdown period. Unfortunately, when I got the car back, I discovered the tint on the inside of my driver window had been scratched by what seemed to probably be a key. I understand accidents happen, so I called my service advisor, Eugene, and informed him of the problem. He spoke to a manager who approved paying for the retinting of the window. I was told I would get a call back to schedule the tinting when their tint guy was back onsite. I tried following up a couple times, but never got a call back. Life and work got busy and I wasn't driving my car much and I forgot about it -- until, of course, I would get in my car and see the scratch, but of course that was usually after the dealership closed that day or it was a Sunday. Rinse. Repeat. On 4/8/21, I went in person to the dealership for a state inspection and mentioned to the new service advisor, Nycholas, the issue that had occurred last year that was still uncorrected. Not driving much and working from home 100% caused me to always be reminded of the issue at the wrong times. The new service advisor brought this to the attention of the service manager who again approved the retinting. I followed up with Nycholas multiple times calling and texting. Finally after quite a lot of effort on my end, I secured a date to come in and get the retinting done. On 5/3/21, I went to the dealership to get the windows retinted, but I wanted to inspect the tint they were going to put on before they did any work. I wear polarized lenses and cheap dyed tint will present with purple and green stripes, which is very distracting as the driver. Their tint guy said it shouldn't be a problem at all because he uses good tint, but when he showed me a car he had done a few days earlier, you could clearly see the purple and green strips from the cheap tint. I went back to the main building with Nycholas and he brought me to his manager, Dylan. I explained what was going on (again) and that they needed to make this right. Putting cheap tint on my car after they scratched my good tint was not acceptable. I offered to get an estimate from the tint shop who originally did my car. Dylan said that would be fine but he would need to run the approval up the flag pole to pay an outside vender or me as reimbursement. Dylan said he would call me back the same day and to give him a few hours. I immediately drove to the tint shop, Alta Mere, that originally did my tint. Shameless plug, they are awesome and do an amazing job with quality tint. They gave me an estimate quickly and even gave me a discount on the tint. The estimate was reasonable and they had a lull in work while I was there. Because this had been going on for so long, I just wanted my tint fixed, so I told them to go ahead and replace the tint and I would handle getting reimbursed after-the-fact. However, I, of course, never heard back from Dylan despite multiple follow up calls to both Dylan and Nycholas. On 5/18/21, I decided to call and ask for the Service Manager, Jim, and ended up talking to their brand new Service Director, Marven. I spoke to Marven and told him this whole story. He apologized for the lack of follow up and promised me a call back the next day. On 5/19/21, I received a call from Marven who told me he was not going to honor the retinting of my window because he didn't believe they caused the damage and because the incident was a year old. So, over the course of this whole thing, I had a manager confirm twice they would cover retinting my car, but then could never get anyone to follow through. Then, the brand new director overturns the whole thing and tells me to go scratch. I left this dealership once because I saw their service going downhill and guess I'm doing that again. More
