If you think all car dealers are the same, think again. I've bought 2 vehicles now from David McDavid Acura. The experience has been excellent both times. His questions about what I wanted in a car and what would match my lifestyle really helped me to find an excellent vehicle. The service was impeccable. My time was respected and every staff member I interacted with was friendly and professional. My new car is beautiful and in tip top condition. I know I have a quality car. I feel that David McDavid is not in it to just "Make a Deal". They care. The customer service was great. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another car from them in the future. I left my Honda Civic on 8/10/2013 because of some noise on the axle and brake and also I asked to do the state inspection. They have replaced the front Left axle, but when I went to pick up my car on 8/14/ on the axle and brake and also I asked to do the state inspection. They have replaced the front Left axle, but when I went to pick up my car on 8/14/2013 the front windshield is halfway broken. The explanation I was given is that there was a small rock chip and when they removed the state inspection sticker, it just started cracking. To me, the explanation does not make sense, I checked the inspection sticker before I left my car. And in 3 days the windshield is halfway broken. When I talked to the manager, she said it is not their fault and cannot do anything about it. They have charged me $450 for the axle repair, although I can still hear the axle and brake noise. I waited for a week to get a survey or a phone call from the dealership for the service. Did not hear anything from them which was expected as they have messed it all up. I work for a big automobile company, and I will make sure that my experience is posted here in the company's website and also in any other venues that I find. I will also try to contact Acura and notify them that these kinds of service will not help them compete against Lexus, Infinity, or any other luxury brands. More
There is something extraordinarily wrong with this dealership. Went in to buy a brand new MDX. Should have been a slam dunk. We came in knew exactly what we wanted, they had the vehicle in stock, h dealership. Went in to buy a brand new MDX. Should have been a slam dunk. We came in knew exactly what we wanted, they had the vehicle in stock, had financing and a substantial down payment. Then the clown show starts. 1. ABUSIVE ETHAN - Given the above Sales went smooth as to be expected, we were then routed to "Ethan' their finance fill-in from corporate who decides it would be a good idea to hard sell us on an extended warranty. This consisted of being locked in a room for over 2 hours with one of the most annoying aggressive/abusive sales people I have ever met who refuses to take no for an answer. Only when I threaten to kill the deal and rip up my check does he relent. Both my wife and I were left aggravated and could not believe how we were treated. 2. NEW CAR DAMAGED - Service Team 'detailing' car for delivery rips half the paint off the back panel when removing tape and delivery material. Car is now extremely damaged. They again pressure us to take ownership of a now damaged 'new' car. After refusing routed to Sales Manager. 3. HIT AND RUN - Another services team member rams into an acura another couple just purchased with his truck and proceeds to just drive away. The entire front end of a brand new TL was ripped off and is laying on the concrete. 4. Sales Manager informs us that he has another new MDX matching our requirements coming in a few weeks on the 14th. He agrees to give us the warranty we were pressured to buy for half price if we will agree to buy the MDX they have coming in. We agree but mention that our loan approval expires before the 14th so ask that they move forward with the paperwork now which they agree to do. My wife returns to the dealership at 9pm on a Saturday to take care of the paperwork to make sure it is processed before the loan expires and get new paperwork for new MDX. 4. BAIT AND SWITCH - Get home and review the new paper work. Instead of giving us the 'Acura Care' extended warranty which we were promised to do the deal, they gave us some spinoff Fidelity garbage. Not happy. Monday morning call Cliffton their GM to discuss shoddy service and treatment we have received. Cliffton promises to make it right and to get us an MDX we will be happy with on the 14th. 5. STILL MORE DAMAGE - No call on the 14th, no call on the 15th. We call on the 16th to find out status of our new MDX. They inform us that the services team damaged 'severley scratched up' the interior of the new car installing our accessories. Once again our brand new car that we have yet to take delivery of needs to be repaired because of their services staff - what is going on here? 6. TOTAL INCOMPETENCE - Fast Forward to the 21st. Call to see when the car will be ready for delivery. Their regular Finance guy Jason, calls to tell us that they forgot to process our loan and that it has expired and we have to start the process from scratch. So I ask, 'We told you guys that the loan was going to expire, and you agreed to process it 2 weeks ago, what happened?' Jason, 'we just didn't get it done. you can either start over from scratch or write us a check for the remaining balance of the vehicle.' How about option 3, you guys write me a check back for my down payment and I take my business elsewhere. WORST CAR DEALERSHIP I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED. More
The service team is ready, greets me, and I am processed in minutes. This time I waited for service and it was done in exactly the time promised. I am updated frequently. Quality is great!!! I have also priced the service & work and it is always competitive. Even tires. I have been using this service organization for years and even with some changes in staff it continues to be top notch. I greatly enjoyed working with Tuan Sparrow, Nicole Rager and the David McDavid Acura team after I discovered a used Honda Odyssey for sale there on AutoTrader.com. I initially used the online chat function to ask Ms Rager some questions about the vehicle, and her prompt research and replies convinced me it was worth traveling to the dealership to take a look at the car in question. When I arrived at the dealership, Mr Sparrow patiently answered all of my questions (I had many as we checked out the car from bumper-to-bumper in 100+ degree weather). His experience and professionalism made my David McDavid Acura experience a very positive one. More
My initial contact with David McDavid Acura started with Kim via their online service. She was extremely friendly and helpful and provided me information on a car that would meet my needs and in my price ra Kim via their online service. Interestingly, the sticker on the car did not match the price I was quoted (sticker price was higher). I was told that internet prices are lower because they recognize that internet shoppers are more savvy and that the sticker on the car was for walk up buyers! To me that seemed a bit deceptive. It was late in the day and almost closing. I felt rushed and most, if not all, my questions were answered with ‘I don’t know” or I’m not very familiar with this car (it was a used car – not an Acura). I contacted Kim again the next day and came back and worked with a different sales person who was friendly and accommodating. When I requested to have the car checked out by a 3rd party prior to purchasing the vehicle and asked if we could agree on a final price for the sale, the dealer would not negotiate even a penny! Not only that, but there were obvious issues with the vehicle that the dealership refused to fix as part of the sale including a broken windshield wiper and a badly needed detail. When the process started, I was quoted a “walk-out” price which included TT&L. Later I was told that was not the case and they never said that even though I had a witness! So, in the end, I was presented a final price higher than what I was initially quoted along with repairs I would have to perform. When I challenged this, I was told they had another party interested in the vehicle. Clearly, they were only interested in who would pay more vs. servicing and retaining a potential new customer. The whole process was a complete waste of my time. My experience with David McDavid Acura was not impressive. Based on my experience, I would not purchase a car from David McDavid or recommended this dealership. More
We were at David McDavid to buy a new Acura RDX 2013. We were there for the first time and we were welcomed by Mr. Bill Houp who took care of the all aspects related to buying an Acura car. Initially we were interested in an RDX 2012 but after testing we realized that we need a slightly bigger car . Subsequently Bill arranged for a new test drive then the procedures of buying a new RDX 2013 . Bill is a very knowledgeable sales consultant. He gave us all the answers to our many questions . During the buying procedures Bill made all the procedures as smooth as possible . We are happy with the car we bought as well as the great experience we had at David McDavid store. We recommend David Mc Davis as well as Mr. Bill Houp to anyone who want to buy a car and enjoy a friendly environment and an excellent service. Thanks Bill .
