Brought in my corvette for what appeared to be electrical/ computer issues as fobs, doors , locks , ignition were not functioning properly. Also had issue with hard shifting. Said they could not fix electric/computer issue without addressing shifting issue first at a cost of 1500. I argued that was ridiculous as shifter cable driven. I refused. Came to take my car back home, was completely nonfunctional. Complained to the service manager who indicated they would look at the problem again from the fob/computer standpoint. Lo and behold they find the an electrical issue as the alternator is not functioning correctly and say I need a new one. I authorize a new one to be installed. No estimate of the cost was given to me at any point in this second examination of the vehicle. Did a check regarding part cost and install time for my vehicle year and found it was about the same as the original shifter estimate. To my surprise the bill is over twice that amount. Over $1800 in labor to replace the alternator. No explanation why the labor cost was enormously in excess of Chevrolets own labor standards for this repair. The icing on he cake to this whole mess is that the ignition problem is still there. Have leased or purchased over a dozen cars from here since the 80s personally or through my firm and will never set foot in this place again. More
The service adviser Alexis Schultz was very pleasant and helpful. They got my car in and checked out, with testing and back to me the next morning.
