A Frustrating Service Department We needed a minor repair on our Honda and called the service department. We were quoted a price (parts, labor, & tax) and once they received the part We needed a minor repair on our Honda and called the service department. We were quoted a price (parts, labor, & tax) and once they received the part, we set up an appointment for the following week at 9:30 in the morning. The next week we received a message to confirm our 7:00 a.m. appointment. We called to inform them that our appointment was 9:30 and were told we would have to reschedule in two weeks. We called the customer relations manager about the problem and she assured us that we could keep the original 9:30 plan. A couple days later, the dealership calls to remind us of our 7:00 appointment. We called back and they insisted the service was scheduled for 7:00. We talked to customer relations again and she told us to come in at 9:30. The next day we get an email reminding us our 7:00 appointment. Add another round of this nonsense and you get the general idea that this company is in chaos. On arriving at service, the service tech then informs us of a price $78 higher than our quote. The reason? They service department quoted a price for the wrong part. Amazingly, however, they had the correct part.available and could still do the work. No offer to make any adjustments--just a take-it-or-leave-it attitude. We should have refused, but considering how many phone calls and time we had invested in this minor repair, we agreed to the work. I called the general manager a few days later in response to a satisfaction survey with Mungenast. He agreed to look into the matter and a couple weeks later, we received a check for $78. So kudos for that. However, in thinking about more service or replacing any of our four Hondas, I'd recommend going elsewhere. It's almost as if they don't want our business. More

They replaced cam plugs, oil pump, crank seal and oil pan gaskets etc. And EVERTHING else also checked. I requested and received a a new and fully loaded Honda Fit as a loaner car (going to be my next car). Also received all discounts available. Plus had headlight restoration done for free as prior restoration completed under warranty (which still had a few months remaining). They treated me like I was a relative of the owner. Chris Taylor, Service Adivisor, is more like my personal concierge as he is always asking me " is there anything else you need or that we can do for you," and discusses with me all repairs, warranties etc on my car. And he consults with the service technicians as they work on my car to keep me updated. I have also contacted him many times just to discuss potential car problems and cost. Chris is the best! Also much thanks to Certified Technician C. Lamb for a great major repair job. I have been going to St. Louis Honda for years. They honor warranties, only do the necessary repair work, and give all discounts available. I trust them and am always impressed with the service I get. More

Chris consistently reassures me that my car will be done quickly and precisely, checking in with me several times while I wait. He offers great advice but never tries to pressure me toward any direction. Upon the completion of my service, he sends me off with a warm goodbye and an understanding that I can call him whatever the issue. I truly feel that he is on my side and not just trying to make a sale. More

Our family owns three Hondas, and I discovered this morning that the deal is not good for the car needing the service. There is no negotiating on this point, despite the fact that I've given this company tons of business over the past 25 years. The service person on the phone seemed to infer that they won't tolerate any fraud on these promotions. I think their marketing department should revisit these so-called incentives.. Here's why: A $79.95 wheel alignment is an OK price for dealer work, but not competitive at all from an independent garage. A $19.95 oil change is fairly average. Why would anyone fraudulently try to take advantage of this? I think the incentive only works for consumers who already prefer dealer services, and if that's the case, why not let the incentive apply to any Honda vehicle brought in for service, especially when it's been worked on before? The promotion also runs the risk of ticking people off and writing bad reviews. So yes, Mungenast, I tossed your pretty slick tri-fold in the trash today and will subsequently do the same for any more restricted "promotions" you offer. More

However, as it is impossible to have simple routine maintenance done on a timely basis. Called for basic oil change & tire rotation, and first available appointment was in 10 days. Although the dealership has "Express Service" lanes, it is not available at Mungenast. Dealership was under construction for an overdue remodel for more than a year. That was the reason given during that time for untimely service. Now it is the airbag recall. Frankly, a dealer that allows its customer service to deteriorate because of an issue like this means that the customer is NOT #1. I am currently sitting in the waiting room of another Honda dealer while having my oil change and tire rotation done via their Express Service. Mungenast has lost me as a customer. In addition to a vehicle purchase last December, I have spent in excess of $4,000 in service and parts. Somehow, I think that, if Dave were still alive, he would be concerned about customer retention, as St Louis Honda became the region's biggest dealer while he was at the helm. More

Joe in the Service department was very courteous explaining the work that they felt was going to be necessary on my sons dirt bike. They didn't mislead me or add-on for unnecessary repairs. I had some frustration waiting on some of the parts, but they told me there might be some delays if certain parts were needed. One of the Service Mechanics even showed me the pieces that had to be replaced, so I was comfortable they didn't try to oversell me on repairs. Jim sold me a used motorcycle and was very helpful in explaining all he knew about the condition of the bike. He even tracked down the owners manual from the original owner. His knowledge of Motorcycles was very impressive and he knew the right answers to all the questions I had about the bike. More

Horrible experience I brought the car in shortly after buying it because I had it at a tire place who said the tires were wearing wrong because it needed an alignment. They didn't do the alignment at this time only changed 2 tires. A few months later I now have bald tires that have an irregular wear pattern because it has been out of alignment all this time. They were willing to fix the alignment finally but not the tires that are bald. Had they fixed it right the first time it wouldn't be like it is! More

I've recently moved to California & I'm struggling to find a Honda dealership that I like even 1/2 as much. Chris Taylor was my service advisor all of those years & my service couldn't have been better. He was honest, knowledgable, always pleasant & really great to work with. I even had engine trouble one time while traveling out of the state & while I was on the side of the highway Chris helped me try to diagnose the problem & find the closest dealership. I wish every dealership had employees like Chris! More
