I was looking to buy a Kia Optima. I have read really good things about their new 2011 Optima. The model is a redesign, and I have been researching it for a while. I've always heard to not purchase a new car model after it debuts or has a redesign change. I went to a local Kia dealer and test drove the new Optima and liked it but still had doubts. (seats kida sucked) Great looking car. (Honda Accord should be worried) My wife was fine with me buyiing a Kia, but reminded me of a deal she had offered. If I got rid of my 12 year old Pontiac and got a Honda Civic, she would take the new Civic in 2 years and I could get whatever I wanted then. In two more years I'll know how good the Kia Optima really is... So knowing Honda makes very good quality cars, I checked out the Honda dealership. I went to a nearby Honda, (Dave Mungenast Honda) and was comfortable the minute I walked in the door. I worked with Kenny Rauth a 13 year veteran with Mungenast Honda. Very good dealer, I felt at ease working with him. They are trying to get a Honda President's award for the 13th consecutive year (this should tell you how good they are) Being someone who does car commercials for a Honda dealership out of state, I was familiar with the Honda President's award. Dave Mungenast is the #1 dealer in the state I think... and I just happened to luck into the situation. They were offering 0% on Hondas this month much to move inventory/cars, to help them winning the president's award... and they gave me a very good deal on my trade in. The 0% financing, the great trade deal, and me being comfortable with Kenny Rauth, and the Honda name, clinched the deal in my head very quickly. By the way my wife is a Honda person for life I think. She has owned 2 civic so far, and in 2 more years, she'll get mine. I'm not sure in 2 years if my next car will be a Honda or not, but I would recommend to anyone to go to Dave Mungenast Honda, if they are interested in Honda. (ask for Kenny) One thing I found interesting... Mungenast Honda doesn't advertise... Not on TV/Radio/Print. Biggest Honda dealer in Missouri ( I think) Huge lot/inventory... 12 Consecutive Presidents awards (probably a 13th). Could all this be a coincidence? No its because Mungenast Honda depends on word of mouth to get their message out. That is what I'm doing here. If you live in the St. Louis area and want a Honda, do yourself a favor and go to Mungenast. My wife purchased her two previous Honda Civics at other area Honda dealers, but she was with me during the new 2011 purchase, and she has said she will do her future Honda shopping at Mungenast Honda. Oh and they offer free car washes for the life of the car. When it warms up, I look forward to trying this out. High marks all the way around for Kenny Rauth and Mungenast Honda. One suggestion... when moving an accumulation of items from your trade-in to your new car... a box to load/transfer the items would come in handy... that took quite a while to do... More
Came on on 11/27, Rick Murphy helping someone else. Mike Hillis stepped in, found the car that I was looking for in the color I wanted, worked out the details and I have a new lease. My lease amount stayed about the same which is what I wanted. Am happy that the lease is only three years. I did feel that the dealership should have made my 1st payment of the new lease since the car I returned only has 29,000 instead of the 48,000 that it should have had. Credit wouldn't budge on that however. I do love the car, the color, happy client More
We were very please with the friendly and "no-pressure" approach used by both Paul, our sales person, and Dave, the business manager. We were also looking at a Hyundai Elantra Touring which was considerab approach used by both Paul, our sales person, and Dave, the business manager. We were also looking at a Hyundai Elantra Touring which was considerably cheaper but felt good about out choice in the end due partly because of the car and partly because of the comfort level at the dealer. No only do we recommend this dealership, on our advice a friend went to see Paul within a week of our purchase and he also bought a car. More
Bought a CRV and a Civic. Service and price were both great. I feel that we were very well taken care of. There was even a mistake where we were quoted an expired sale price (raising our signing price) b great. I feel that we were very well taken care of. Ive dealt with most, if not all, of the honda dealerships throughout the St. Louis area. I drive 50+ miles to Dave Mungenast because they have routinely given me the best deal in the St. Louis area. (Ive bought my last 3 vehicles from them). I have bought these three vehicles from Rob Carroll as Ive found him to be very knowledgeable, considerate not pushy, and understanding of the fact Im out for the best deal i can get. I have found Rob Carroll and the Mungenast team to willing to deal and give me the best overall deal. Also they have a very large inventory on their lot. Im picky about what i want, and yet they have always had a vehicle in the color/options im interested in. I would not hesitate to refer to Rob Carroll and this team. More
