After my car got totalled I had to do unplanned and quick car shopping. I read Consumer Reports, then visited several dealers. I explained that I was looking for a small, fuel efficient quality car with perh car shopping. I read Consumer Reports, then visited several dealers. I explained that I was looking for a small, fuel efficient quality car with perhaps a bit more cargo space. After showing me smaller cars, at a couple of dealers the salesman kept on asking me if I would rather look at SUVs. Repeatedly. At one I tested a Fiesta, commented that it was a nice car, but the ride seemed pretty noisy and rough, and found out that a tire was almost flat. The salesmen didn't offer to get me another Fiesta to try, then when I wanted to test a Focus, found he had gotten the keys to the only stick on the lot, and again didn't offer to get another. Here I am needing to buy a car and he didn't seem too interested in selling one to me. That wasn't the case at Mungenast St. Louis Honda. Sam Martin was very knowledgable about the cars and obviously enthusiastic about Hondas, and willing to do what was necessary to sell me a car, but without the hard-sell pressure. We discussed what I was looking for, and he didn't try to pressure me into something bigger and more expensive. He showed me the Fit, test drove it, then showed me the Civics and told me about the 2011 vs the new 2012, and I took another test drive. I said I liked the Civic, but needed to look at more cars, and again Sam didn't try to pressure me to buy on the spot, only told me again how great Hondas were and the level of service that Mungenast provides. Went back the next day after testing a couple of other brands, told Sam I had tried a car that was nice but didn't do turns well, could I try a Civic on some back roads? Sam got me a Civic and went on a drive back behind the dealership that showed that yes, the Civic handled quite well on turns. At that point I was pretty sold on the Civic, but didn't want to make a decision right then and again there was no pressure, just a reminder about Honda quality. I decided to buy a Civic a couple of days later, and the process went fairly quickly despite a snag with financing that got worked out. When I picked up the car Sam made sure that it was absolutely sparkling clean and showed me the features and how to work the tech. If you're not willing to work for the sale and enthusiastic about what you're selling, why should I buy from you, whatever it is you're selling? Sam and Mungenast Honda were definitely enthuiastic about Hondas and willing to do what they had to do to make the sale. I really love my new Civic! More
This dealer does not use pressure sales tactics. Left a VW dealer due to the pushiness of the sales team. I recently purchased a new 2011 Honda Civic SI from Dave Mungenast Honda in South County. I've got to say that I thoroughly enjoyed my buying experience for a number of reasons. 1) I actually started the in Mungenast Honda in South County. I've got to say that I thoroughly enjoyed my buying experience for a number of reasons. 1) I actually started the inquiry by working through their website. It was intuitive, easy to navigate and when I started to get more serious about the purchase I was able to inquire about the vehicle I chose quickly and easily. 2)Once I'd made my initial contact via the website I was contacted by Randy Graves the dealership's Internet Manager within minutes. 3) The dealership sent me 9 finance options before I even walked in the door. It was all so easy. I made an appointment to meet Randy later the same day. Once I arrived he explained the dealerships process, had my car appraised then took me for a test drive in the car I chose. Throughout the process Randy and the rest of the team at the dealership took a positive, professional approach to selling me a car. He made the process easy and answered all of my questions along the way. Once I'd determined that I wanted to go forward with the deal we'd agreed upon, Randy introduced me to Dave Gierse, the Business Manager. Once again, Dave was so easy to work with. In fact it was more of an honest discussion of wants and needs on the cars (I also bought a used one for my daughter) we were looking at There was no shuck and jive just honest conversation. I would highly recommend Rick, he new his stuff and there was no fast shuck and jive. If all sales professionals behaved this way it would be far better for everyone. More

My husband and I had been discussing purchasing a new Honda CRV for a while but, just didn't want to commit to a car payment! We made a call to Dave Mungenast St. Louis Honda on a late Monday evening. We talked to Rob and he told us about the very very low finance rate that was about to end that night and we decided to come on in and see for ourselves. Well, with Robs hard work and fast service, we actually picked up our new CRV on Tuesday after work! I was very impressed with Rob as he went out of his way to make this possible for us. He stayed late Monday and Tuesday and had all the paperwork ready when my husband came in on his late lunch break. Not to mention that he actually picked him up as well! We have always done business with Dave Mungenast as far back as when he opened a shop on Gravois in South St. Louis. I appreciated all the efforts the guys put in to get me financing via Honda USA. Still dont understand why Honda US will not finance me on the fact that I am Canadian...I have owned Honda's before with Hon financing via Honda USA. Only negative would be that the they should communicate more with customers to give status on progress. I had to call many times, left messages and no one would call back in a timely fashion. I also had to go to the dealer a few times to get answers, status and get it going.... I have already recommended the dealer to co-workers. More
