Don't Get Service if you are NOT UNDER WARRENTY ! ! ! I broke down right on front of Darlings, I felt fortunate to be so close to a service center until I got the estimate. They said I had blown a spark I broke down right on front of Darlings, I felt fortunate to be so close to a service center until I got the estimate. They said I had blown a spark plug out of the engine. The hole left behind was too large for a helicoil. They said there was damage to the cylinder head and it would require replacement, along with the valve cover and coil. Total Estimate: $3,800. I declined the service and towed the truck home myself. My mechanic found threads still in the head. Ran a tap to fix fouled threads, replaced the coil and put a new plug in. Truck runs great for a tiny fraction of that Darlings wanted to do. There was no need to replace the head. I was told the hole was too big for a helicoil, when in fact, the threads were still in the head. This is not a misdiagnosis. It's a lie. Darlings straight face lied to me about the extent of the damage to my vehicle. I will never step foot on their lot again, and, if your vehicle isn't under warranty, I would suggest you find an honest mechanic somewhere else. More
