I can think of no reason to speak with Ed. Your service department was very clear regarding their diagnosis. And, really $3,800 to replace a head cylinder? I can get a new engine with similar mileage for the same price. What did the service writer do, write up the replacement of the coil, head and valve cover as 3 separate jobs? There are only two explanations for this. 1. Your service tech didn’t actually LOOK at the problem, but made assumptions about the extent of the damage caused when the plug left the engine. I was specifically told the damage was so severe, they could not install a helicoil to repair. Or 2. Somebody lied about the extent of the damage. Neither one of those is acceptable. Its done, and I will not be back. Not for service, not to purchase. Probably never at any of Darlings properties. There are lots of options out there, I have no need for you.
