Went out of way to make things right On her first trip with our used Jetta sportwagen, a trip to southern Maine, my wife heard a grinding noise coming from rear wheel. The next morning we looked, and saw a bolt was missing from breaks, and the breaks were not centered on the disk. We live in a very remote area of southern Aroostook county, 90 miles or more from Darlings. We assumed we'd have to drive the car to the nearest service station--which isn't very near. Instead, Darlings picked the car up and carried it to Bangor where they not only fixed the breaks, but also fixed a clogged drain that was funneling water into the spare tire compartment. This is a company that takes its warrantees, and customers seriously. More
Going 10 Extra Miles for the customer!!! My ‘Rear Main Seal’ had a substantial leak; Service was advised sooner rather than later. The estimated repair cost was substantial. Vehicle was 2K m My ‘Rear Main Seal’ had a substantial leak; Service was advised sooner rather than later. The estimated repair cost was substantial. Vehicle was 2K miles from exceeding factory warranty. Ford was approached regarding coverage of issue; Ford’s initial answer was ‘NO’. Darling’s came back saying ‘NO’ is not the answer we are looking for and approached Ford with some buffering; the adherence of an impeccable maintenance/service schedule of vehicle per Darling’s highly skilled and qualified mechanics and services availed of, the care of the vehicle by owner and the owner himself as to his person, his character, his customer loyalty and mostly his view of Darling’s as being an absolutely exemplary dealership which is solely dependent upon the ‘Family’ of Darling’s employees, the backbone, who are in and of themselves highly skilled and of superlative character as persons. As I have always said; Darling’s is fortunate to have, from top to bottom, the best of the best in employment. Word of mouth is one’s best advertisement; made four, (4), stops on the way home; told ten, (10), people of my much appreciated experience at Darling’s Ford, Bangor; inclusive of Ford Corporate with regard to their reconsideration; more are destined to get their ear bent. Again all my sincere thanks and appreciation to everyone involved. Am expressly appreciative of Eric Achorn; toss about any accolade and it will stick to him and that is not just because he is my Service Writer. A big thanks to Darling’s inclusive of all.
