2006 truck needs new engine within 24 hours. I bought a used truck from Daniels Chevrolet In February 2015. I asked the salesman Ricky Collins several times if they were aware of any engine probl I bought a used truck from Daniels Chevrolet In February 2015. I asked the salesman Ricky Collins several times if they were aware of any engine problems prior to trade in or if they did any work on it. Ricky told me that the only thing they did was an oil change. After test driving it there was a slight hesitation when accelerating. Even the mechanic told me he knew of no problems. I asked Ricky if I buy this and something happens and it turns out to be a major problem what is your policy. He said we would come and pick the vehicle up and give you a refund. Even though I had to sign the as is agreement, he said that’s just for small stuff and we will make it right. I got home and took the vehicle to my local dealership to have an inspection. They immediately notice oil leaking from the engine. I called Ricky and advised him of the problem. He said it`s probably old left over oil from when we repaired the head gasket, and not to worry about it. Apparently the previous owner had driven it too long when it was over heated before trading it in. I was shocked and questioned him as to why he never disclosed that when I asked. He just said he thought he mentioned it. I decided to have a dye test just to make sure. The results showed the head gasket was still leaking. I called Ricky and told him I wanted my money back. He wanted to know if I had added water to the engine or drove it real hard. I advised him that I just drove it the 100 miles from his dealership to my house and then to my dealership. I requested my money back as he promised. He even tried to say that my local dealership may be lying to charge for more repairs or are incompetent. He insisted that I drive to another mechanic they are associated with for a second opinion. The new mechanic found the same problem. He stated whom ever did the repair either has no idea what they are doing or just did the cheapest fix possible. The fact that Daniels service never checked to see if the engine was still leaking is disturbing. I again called Ricky and asked to get my refund. He was reluctant and offered to fix it at their dealership. I refused but suggested that we could do the repair at the mechanic they sent me to. I waited 4 hours before he finally said Mr. Daniels declined the request. I told him I want my refund as was promised. He said that they will send a couple of guys to pick it up in the morning and bring me a check. The next day by noon I called to see what was happening. Ricky said Mr. Daniels told him I can have a refund but I have to drive the truck back. I explained that both mechanics advised me that there is probably more damage from the leak and the truck could die at any time. He said that what Mr. Daniels wants and he`s the boss. I reluctantly agreed to return it but I need something in writing stating that they are aware of the situation and authorize me to drive the truck back without holding me responsible if something else goes wrong. Ricky said no problem and he would fax it to me. An hour later I got a letter stating I have 48 hours to return it but it must be in the same condition I bought it in. This would already be impossible from the current condition it was in. I called Ricky back and asked for the letter to be re-written to reflect what he agreed but was told that`s what Mr. Daniels wants and he`s the boss. I spoke to numerous auto law experts and was advised not to return it under those terms. I decided to fix it myself. The mechanic found the damage to the engine was more extensive than they thought. The bearings needed to be replaced. They advised me it would cost almost the value of the truck to fix it, suggesting it would be less expensive to replace the entire engine. I called Richard Daniels and requested his assistance. He said he would call me back. For the next week I got the run around from his associates. Finally I was told since I refused the previous refund there is nothing they can do. My wife and I were called liars and blamed for causing the damage. We were even told that Richard Daniels was very offended because we don`t trust him. Why would I trust someone who lied about a major repair such as a head gasket. I have since found many reviews from their customers who had similar experiences like mine. They all say the same thing. Those who were offered repairs said they just did a cheap fix and that they had to have repaired over and over. Others were given the run around like me. Go to the Better Business Bureau website and see their rating. It`s a C minus. More

Buy a car from ANYWHERE else I found a truck online and conducted my negotiating over the phone. I called ahead and told the dealership I would be there around dusk. When I arri I found a truck online and conducted my negotiating over the phone. I called ahead and told the dealership I would be there around dusk. When I arrived at the dealership it was starting to become dark. They gave the truck a "courtesy" wash prior to my arrival to ensure it was clean and ready for the test drive. The truck drove beautifully so I purchased it. The sale itself was very smooth. My original salesman handed me off to Jerry Howell who completed the sale. The next day (after the vehicle had dried), is when I saw everything wrong with the truck. There were two scratches (one on each side) completely up and the entire body. Also, the rear bumper was bent to the point the tailgate wouldn't lower without pushing the body out. I put the window down on my way into work and heard the worse squeaking sound of my life. The worst part, I looked under the truck and saw the entire underbody was completely rusted. I opened the hood and discovered even more rust. My "courtesy wash" from the night before was actually meant to hide the rust and damage. I immediately contacted Jerry and told him of the issues with the truck. He told me that he would send me a truck the next day and take care of all the issues. He sent a small SUV that wouldn't even hold the three car seats for my kids. I called him again saying that I need a truck so I can fit the car seats in it to move my children around. He apologized and said he would send a truck the next day. Next day arrived, and I received a slightly larger SUV. I told them thank you although it was the wrong vehicle as at least I could fit my children in it. He told me my truck would be fixed in a day and I would have it back. Three days later, I finally received the truck. I inspected the truck and NOTHING was fixed. Instead of taking the time to fix the truck properly, they had the mechanics simply paint over the rust to try and hide it. Again, I notified Jerry and Richard Daniels (the owner) of the issues I was having with the truck I purchased less than a week prior. They both assured me the problems would be fixed. They brought me a full size truck the following week and said they would begin repairs and let me know it was finished. Upon inspecting my truck, they decided it would be easier and cheaper to "upgrade" me to a different truck than fix everything wrong with the current one. I told them to send me some numbers and we could see if it is doable or they could fix my truck. The numbers they sent me were absolutely absurd. They ranged from 7,000-10,000 more than what I originally paid. After I told them that I could not afford a bigger payment than what I already had, Jerry became very rude to me on the phone and kept talking down to me as if they were doing me the favor of fixing the vehicle they said was "like new". Bottom line, this dealership will do ANYTHING to make a quick profit to include screwing the customer over. It is worth the extra money to buy a car from ANY other dealer. I notified the Better Business Bureau and received a phone call from Richard Daniels shortly after. He reassured me that he would personally ensure the truck was fixed so I gave the dealership a second chance. The dealership picked up my vehicle and had it for two weeks. Richard Daniels and Jerry Howell reassured me they both looked over the vehicle and it was perfect. When they brought the vehicle back to me, it was very obvious the dealership performed quick cosmetic fixes hoping I wouldn’t notice. They didn’t repair the rust damage or even knock any of it. It looks like they applied a second quick quote of paint and hoped I wouldn’t notice. I am EXTREMELY disappointed in the professionalism of the dealership and would NOT want them to sell a car to my worst enemy. More

After driving the 2012 for two years I had very specific requirements as to model, color, interior, features, etc. and I wanted to close the sale very fast - in two days, actually. I had purchased the 2012 at Superior in Atlanta and found the experience so-so. This time I wanted to use a local dealer - I live in Jefferson County - and I had heard Daniels ads on WPEH. I called Daniels and was put on the line with salesman Shannon Mason. I was very direct in saying I wanted a Victory Red double cab 4x4, 6 cylinder, black leather upholstered etc., etc., etc. truck, and I wanted to close the deal the next day. Shannon was absolutely amazing. Though, understandably, Daniels did not have the truck in stock, Shannon jumped on the task and tracked one down by the end of the day and also did the paperwork to figure trade-in, financing, etc in the blink of an eye. The next day I went down to Swainsboro, found the truck to be exactly what I wanted in every way, did the paperwork, and drove off - done! Just like that! Shannon is the best car salesman I've ever dealt with - great listener, detail oriented, no-BS, terrific work ethic, caring manner. So far, I've had very satisfactory service experiences with Daniels, and I feel great knowing I'm dealing with local folks who know me and my truck. I'm a Daniels fan, and I plan to do all my automotive business there from now on! More
