We apologize for any confusion with the registration and taxes for your vehicle. Unfortunately, all states have strict identification requirements in order to register a vehicle and the Connecticut statutes dictate that residents must pay sales tax on all purchases--regardless of where the vehicle is, ultimately, registered. Regarding the plate brackets, we are sorry that the plate hardware was missing. This is something that should have been checked during the inspection of the vehicle for sale. We will bring this to the attention of our sales team to ensure that all items are checked prior to delivery. Again, we are sorry for the frustration you experienced and we thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Per your conversation with our manager on Saturday, the hardware and the refund for the difference in the Motor Vehicle fees were sent by overnight delivery yesterday so you should have received them today. Please let us know if you have still not received them. Regarding the taxes, we originally calculated them based on the information we were given regarding New York residency. Once we were made aware of the Connecticut residencency, we had no choice but to recalculate the taxes. We are happy to register a vehicle in whatever state requested as long as we are provided the legal documentation. Unfortunately, as a resident of Connecticut, this does not exempt you from paying sales tax here. We understand this is disappointing but, as this is the law, we have no other recourse.
