Then one week later, the air bag light came on They did get the van in to check what was going on right away. This is a 2019 and less than 50,000 miles on it. You would not expect a major issue with the van. They found the problem. Unfortunately it will cost $300 to fix. What? I just spent over $18,000 on a vehicle and after less than a week of ownership, I have an issue with it!! They did offer to split the cost with me. Still unacceptable. Now I don't know what to do. I'm stuck with a vehicle with mechanical issues and I have a huge loan to pay off. Very disappointed that after a week, there are issues. Why no guarantee left? Also all manuals including California emissions certificate were moldy. Who looks at the manuals prior to buying a vehicle? After, yes, to learn about all of the bells and whistles, but not prior. Sales rep. has ordered a new manual as I am highly allergic to mold, but not a new California emissions certificate and other certificates. Just a very disappointing experience for an almost brand new vehicle. I had expected more from this dealership More
No pressure, super flexible and excellent service I worked with Andy Page to purchase a car for my daughter. We completed the entire transaction by phone, email and mail. They even delivered the car I worked with Andy Page to purchase a car for my daughter. We completed the entire transaction by phone, email and mail. They even delivered the car to my front door. The car was priced fairly, Andy was very accommodating and helpful and I would buy another car from him any day! I have sent a few follow up questions and he responds to me very quickly. I highly recommend Andy Page with Dan Deery in Cedar Falls, IA. More

We reached out inquiring about a specific vehicle asking several questions and was told it was in great shape and ready to be seen. A couple days later my husband and I make the 100 mile trip to visit the dealership. A sales lady was very quick to engage us and provide assistance as soon as we stepped out of our car. She found the vehicle that we were considering and I excitedly opened the doors. I was surprised when it turned out there were magazines, coins, straw wrappers, etc. throughout, as well as other personal products in the cup holders and console. The interior was a light color and there were dark scuffs and smudges. I could feel crumbs beneath my legs and an empty water bottle rolled off the console during the test drive. My initial impression was of disgust and sheer disappointment as the vehicle wasn't prepared for sale. We looked briefly at a second model which didn't have trash in it, but did have quite a bit of dog hair in the back and should have been vacuumed. We have been to many dealerships over the last month and I have never seen cars shown in worse condition. We were told that the vehicle was being used by one of the employees as a demo which was supposed to excuse the condition it was being shown in. The vehicle had 2500 more miles than listed online and no adjustment were made to the price. We were told the "computers glitched" and already marked the price down below where the dealership was making money. Bottom line is that we walked in ready to buy this vehicle. We understand it would get cleaned prior to obtaining the keys. However, this was the first impression we had with this dealerships professionalism and commitment to the customer experience. We ended up leaving the dealership questioning their standards, it wasn't worth the drive out for us. More

Oil Change/ switch services from Alaska to Iowa long story short we moved from Alaska to Iowa recently and knew the “stigma” behind Dan Deery’s to be “overpriced” and “cons” but when I brought my br long story short we moved from Alaska to Iowa recently and knew the “stigma” behind Dan Deery’s to be “overpriced” and “cons” but when I brought my brand new Jeep in to be serviced I was greeted with nothing but professinalism and genuinely great service. Although they would not uphold a oil plan from another dealer (which wasn’t expected but it’s a brand new Jeep and we were told we would be able to switch dealers for services) I upgraded to synthetic oil at a somewhat reasonable price, and in and out in almost 15 minutes start to finish flat. Very pleased and will be returning for services and etc in the future. More

Bait and switch and increased interest rate from bank quote I needed a vehicle as my wife is physically challenged, So I picked out a van. The wife uses a wheelchair and the van had no trailer hitch package so I needed a vehicle as my wife is physically challenged, So I picked out a van. The wife uses a wheelchair and the van had no trailer hitch package so the dealer said he would add the trailer hitch and geve me a check to have one installed. Toyota does not install them anymore .So we settle on the van and was told the bank quoted a certain rate but when we went to sign papers they increased the rate by 1.5%. They told me th bank changed there mind and set it higher. after we hassled over that I got hoime and found out the cost for the hirtch was financed in my total to finance. Right? Are you kidding me that we have the scams going on at our local car dealerships. It should be against the law foer them to step on my interest rate from bank ans the hidding of expenses they said they would pay. More
Stereotypical Used Car Salesman! Truck Center in Cedar Falls This was the most frustrating and angering car buying experience of my life. I live in Cedar Falls so wanted to give the local dealers a shot at findi This was the most frustrating and angering car buying experience of my life. I live in Cedar Falls so wanted to give the local dealers a shot at finding me a good deal on a Dodge Grand Caravan. I walked in and talked to a salesman name Derek. I told him about a bunch of 2014 SXT I had found online and asked if he could find me something similar for similar money. He found me a van the next day so I went in to look at it. It was a great van and my wife and I planned on buying it. We were $300 away from making a deal. Derek sent me home with the van to show my wife. I took the van back that night with the understanding that we were serious about buying it but were still a few hundred away from making the deal. The next day I tried to get ahold of Derek but he would not get back to me. I could even see that he had received and read a text msg I sent him from my Iphone to his. I guess he didn't know he had his msg setting set to let others know after he read his msgs. The next day I called him and he made up a lie about being off the day before. He called me back 3 hours later to tell me someone else sold the van while he was gone. I later found out that he sold the van to someone else the day he claimed to be "off" at a higher price than he was offering me to buy it. A different salesman sold him out to me and also revealed that the story he told me about the 80 year old couple that traded the van in was a load of crap too. Shady guy and a shady dealership. The other Dodge Dealership they have in Waterloo found out about what happened and said they would make everything right for us just to keep us as customers. Instead, they wasted 3 hours of our Saturday for a new van that was already over priced. I've never had a good visit to any of the Dan Deery Dealerships and that's why I have not and will not buy anything from a Deery. Everytime I've been to their dealerships I always watch the way the salesmen interact with the customers and the majority seem to try to "handle" the potential buyers. It's salesmen like Derek at the Dan Deery Truck center off main street in Cedar Falls that put such a sour taste in peoples mouths about used car salesman. Deery Dealerships and this particular salesman are the stereotypical used car salesman type. Do your research. Dan Deery vehicles are always higher priced than anywhere else in Iowa. That's why I bought a used Toyota Camry from Cedar Rapids Toyota in 2010 for $4,000 less than the sticker price of similar Camrys that had more miles on them at Deery Toyota. Drive a few miles and save a few thousand dollars. More
