Bruce, Brakes are a wearable item and are not covered under any vehicle warranty, including a bumper-to-bumper warranty that accompanies a brand-new vehicle purchase. Our vehicles go through an inspection which includes brake measurements and visual inspection of brake lines, which your 2011 Jeep passed over two months ago. The wear on these wear and tear items will vary driver to driver, relative to the operation and terrain the vehicle is driven. Maintenance expenses should be a consideration of any vehicle shoppers, especially on 11-year-old vehicles like the one you purchased.

A well respected mechanic, a mechanic for over 40 years reviewed the jeep and made the repair and stated, "this issue is "not" new" so Deery can say they did this or did that, what they failed to do was inspect the brake lines as the left front was collapsed and not only collapsed, it was in such a state it pressured the caliper causing the left rotor to get hot and dangerous braking. Deery bought a jeep, ran it through their car wash, changed the oil, and flipped it without properly checking the vehicle, that is the bottom line. Disappointed in DJ Deery and the rest of the team there.

We require all our customers to come and see the vehicles in person before making a purchase, so that they are well aware of the vehicle they are purchasing and what all comes along with it. The Iowa “As Is” policy on pre-owned vehicles is very clear, cut and dry, and made well aware to customers at the time of purchase. It simply states that the condition a vehicle is in at the time of sale, is the condition of the vehicle you will receive. It is up to the consumer to make the decision whether the vehicle is in a condition they are willing to accept, which sounds like is the decision you made on this vehicle.
