Please be extremely cautious when buying a used vehicle from this company. They do not inspect the vehicle and they will blatantly LIE to you to get you to buy one. I had been looking for a car for my d from this company. They do not inspect the vehicle and they will blatantly LIE to you to get you to buy one. I had been looking for a car for my daughter who just turned 16 a couple weeks back. We had found a Buick Lacrosse listed on the Marketplace. At first I wasn’t going to look at it but a family member had passed and that brought me into the area, so I thought why not drive it. Upon arriving I came across Don. A floating car salesman. He took me to the car, he opened the passenger door for me to look inside, not once noting that the door would not unlock using the unlock button. We went for a drive and it seemed ok and drove fairly smooth. Upon arrival I informed Don that I felt uncomfortable about the check engine light being on and needed to call my husband to get his thoughts. Don proposed getting a diagnostic done on the car to see if any codes populated indicating any issues. He asked if it was okay that he ran that test before I called my husband. I thought it was great he was willing to go that extra step to ensure a safe vehicle for my child. He left briefly to go out and run the test. He came back in and informed me there were no codes on the car. He informed me he reached out to his “best” mechanic and he noted the check engine light most likely was on because the battery needed charging as it was sitting over the winter. He informed me that he charged the battery and the check engine light went off. I felt comfortable knowing a diagnostic had been run as well as the Check engine light was no longer on. I decided to buy the car. Upon arriving home the check engine light came back on immediately. The next day my husband and I took the car to get a diagnostic done and a code popped up stating that there were issues with the timing chain kit that needed to be addressed promptly. The car engine upon closer inspection had a very obvious Tick to it. The car salesman LIED to me about running a diagnostic or he lied to me about a code being generated, this was a serious code it didn’t just start within hours of arriving home. Also, the mechanic or car salesman reset the engine light to give the appearance that the there were no issues.. I reached out to Don in regards to these issues and he suggested we bring back the car tomorrow and we can trade it for a car that’s the same value. I no longer feel like putting my child in one of their cars is a safe plan. Also, I do not feel like this car will make it another two hour trip. I reached out to Dan the owner as well as the general manager via email with no response. We are arranging to have the car looked at come Monday next week to see what the price tag is on all these issues the car has and if it’s even worth fixing or a complete loss. We are also considering reaching out to an attorney as well as filing a consumer complaint. All we want is our money back, we even offered to eat the doc fee and tax and title. If they will do this over 5k, imagine what sort of deception they will put forward over a 30k car. Shame on Dan Deery to take a special time for a teenager away. More
