After several weeks of being lied to over the internet, email, and in person by various car dealers, our family was about ready to give up on buying a car. Then Jason Barnett of Dan Cummins (and Josh Mitchell) *restored our faith* in car dealers. How? By keeping a promise. On Saturday, Jason told us he would find the used car we wanted (a very hot property that was selling like wildfire). On Monday, we had email from Josh with several possible cars. By Wednesday, they had purchased the car on auction for us. The car arrived Friday, Jason met us with it, we looked at it, came to a deal, and bought it. Months of frustration followed by less than a week to get the car. Were there some challenges along the way? Yes, but Jason helped to address them in any way that he could. In addition, Danny of Service was awesome on taking car of our oil change. We highly recommend Jason Barnett (and Josh Mitchell and Danny) of Dan Cummins Chevrolet. More

My salesman was Josh Cummins(owner).Josh never returned my calls and I always had to call him back. I am from Texas and found this 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe that was advertised as having a bad transmission.My m my calls and I always had to call him back. I am from Texas and found this 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe that was advertised as having a bad transmission.My mistake was thinking a person could trust a Chevrolet Dealership.Believe me this isnt true and there is nothing you can do about it( I tried).Josh assured me the only other thing wrong with this Tahoe was the arm rest. I even had him send more pictures,and asked him to take close up pictures of any problems or issues,but the pictures he sent were from a distance including the whole vehicle in every shot.He had already assured me everything was good,and said he drove the vehicle before thr transmission broke and everything was fine. Everything seemed ok so I purchased the vehicle.I had a transport company deliver it to me and when it arrived the first thing I noticed was it had really bad hail damage,and after we got it unloaded I started the vehicle only to discover it had a very loud tick coming from the engine.And the windshield was broken.The windshield is not a big deal,just normal wear and tear.It also had various scratches and small door dings,again no problem normal wear and tear,but still no mention of any of this.I called and talked to Josh yesterday morning,and his only soloution to this mess was for me to send it back,me footing the transport bill both directions @ approx $1500. Stay away from this dealership, Its only about money for them, they dont really care about the customer. Like a lot of other dealers they have a very high document fee of $500. More
I am a resident of Paris, KY! I came in earlier in the week and was looking for a newer used car. We began and I was discussing a couple of cars I had been looking at, the person that was helping us had no idea if those cars were even on the lot and then told us that they had been sold several days ago and one way before that. I was told a 72 hour turn over rate was on the website, but I knew I had seen some of those cars on there way longer after they had been sold. After discussing I wasn't confident that I had found a car that was for me yet and was told that some information would be added into the system about some vehicles that I was interested in and that also of the price range i was looking to stay around. My sales person said that he would be in contact over the next few days. I have yet to hear anything and I even sent an email online last night and haven't even received a response today just to let me know that it was received! I'm very upset by the lack luster of communication and feel that because of my age I wasn't treated as a normal customer. I will be taking my business else where in search for a vehicle! While my buying process was not as great as I had hoped my first time purchasing a car would be, I have always had a great experience with the service dept at this dealership. However, the last time I my first time purchasing a car would be, I have always had a great experience with the service dept at this dealership. However, the last time I was at Dan Cummins I had made an appt because the lock fixture on the door was not working correctly and the door would some time not shut. I had asked the lady specifically if it was covered under the 'warranty' and she said yes, it would be no problem. Took my car in Saturday for that scheduled appt, they ended up doing an oil change and a tire rotation. When I asked about the lock and what had happened the guy checking me out told me that they never looked at the lock, that it was not on the work order, and asked if I told him about it when I dropped the car off. My mouth dropped. I told him no, that the lock was the reason I had made the appt to begin with. He continued to look at the paper and then explained to me that he finally saw that. He asked if I could bring my car back another day that week to have it looked at. Dissatisfied, I still agreed to bring my car in that following Monday. Arriving back at the dealership on Monday I dropped my car off and told them I had a couple places to be, that if it was going to cost me anything out of pocket that I needed to be called and notified before they done any work. The gentleman called me and told me that it would be $295, when I asked about the warranty he told me that he wasn't aware of a warranty. After putting me on hold he told me it was going to $200 out of pocket and that the warranty would cover $95. I was shocked. I asked why and he began to explain that the warranty had a $200 deductible EVERY time the car was brought in for service. We were never told about this when we bought the warranty. While, yes, I should have read the paper work, I also believed it should have been stated as well. Keep in mind we were first time car buyers. While going to the window to pick up my keys, I was told my total was $48. Asking why, since my car was not worked on, she explained that they still had to charge for a diagnosis fee. I paid & left the dealership completely dissatisfied & with plans to not return. I received an email asking to complete a survey on my recent experience with Dan Cummins. Before I had rendered taking the survey I emailed the service department at Dan Cummins and told them about my experience. To my surprise I received a call the following business day. While speaking to Mr. Ballard he made me feel like I was truly a valued customer at their dealership & that my business was appreciated. He was able to set up an appointment for that following Saturday. Sick & unable to make it, he was so willing to agree to another appointment time & date. After discussing the warranty and re-reading over your paperwork, we had decided to cancel our warranty. Calling and letting the service department know & canceling our appointment, Mr. Ballard explained to us that he would still like to fix our car & credit our customer account for the $48 we had spent. He had also arranged for my car to be picked up in Lexington, driven to Paris, fixed & then returned. All at no cost to me. While I am still not 100% satisfied with the sales department, the service department has won me over. I encourage you, if you have a bad experience, do not just disregard this dealerships service department. Call and speak/email the supervisor and hopefully they will treat you with the same respect they have shown me. More

The staff is friendly with the service department open 6 days a week it makes it easy to schedule an appointment that works around my busy schedule. I came in for an oil change and had a squeak in my brakes. The service guys got me a loaner vehicle for the day so I didn't have to wait around and could get to work. I was blown away! I don't think that is the normal routine, but it definitely made me feel special! The service was great and to say affordable would be an understatement. I bought a used 2007 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited last summer. I found the jeep online and asked for more information. Josh Mitchell was the salesman and he was very helpful. I since used the service department for regular service on the jeep and they have been great as well. The lifetime warranty that came with the jeep was the icing on the cake! I am as picky as they come and would suggest using this dealership without hesitation. More
