This is the most underhanded crooked dealership I have ever dealt with in my life. Was quoted a price for a truck on Thursday morning. Made an appointment for Saturday morning to go get it. Looked at it o ever dealt with in my life. Was quoted a price for a truck on Thursday morning. Made an appointment for Saturday morning to go get it. Looked at it online Friday morning and the price had gone up over $2000. Would not honor the price I was given the day before.Price went up another $1000 on Monday. Was told that the market updates every 6 hours so their prices update also. LIE! Dealership continues to call me and my husband. Someone different calls everyday even though we have told them to stop. I would not recommend buying anything from them. More
Left me soured on Chevy/GM I started researching Chevy Silverado trucks recently and came across the Dale Earnhardt Jr Chevrolet website. They had great deals on their website a I started researching Chevy Silverado trucks recently and came across the Dale Earnhardt Jr Chevrolet website. They had great deals on their website and a wide selection of Silverados. I decided on a couple of listings but wanted to see them on the lot so my wife and I drove to Tallahassee to look at them. One in particular was advertised for $29,820 on the website and I confirmed it was still available on the lot. We spoke with one of the sales people and told him we were interested but were likely to purchase the vehicle through the website because of the deal available through it. He did offer to check on that before we left the lot. He checked on it and even brought out one of the sales managers, Barbie Jordan. The price that was offered to us on the lot was a few thousand dollars more than that on the website. Barbie offered several reasons for that but none of them were very convincing to us as to why we should pay a few thousand more in person when we could complete the deal online and have the truck delivered to us, as advertised on their website and confirmed by the sales person who told us he would be the one driving the truck to us and we could sign the paperwork in our driveway. So we left the lot, went home and followed the steps on the Dale Jr. website. The deal online was for $29,820. This included a Dale Jr discount of $3,980 and a Consumer Cash discount of $6,000. Both were automatically offered on the website. They are not discounts I had to dig around to find. During the process there was also a Specials button which I clicked. The special that popped up was an additional $1000 discount. There was also no fine print indicating either of these discounts were conditional and the website automatically added them to the deal. So I entered my cash down amount and my finance terms. These are the only options I was able to choose or change. Nothing else in the offer could be changed by me as a customer. I clicked on Submit and waited to be contacted by someone at the dealership. I was contacted the following day by Aaron Hicks. I may be wrong but it seemed Aaron hadn’t really reviewed the submission prior to calling because he was unsure of the details. He called what I submitted my “offer” to which I explained that the Dale Jr. website already had the internet price and discounts and that all I was able to enter was my cash down and my finance terms. So technically this wasn’t my “offer” but rather my agreement to the deal presented to me by the Dale Jr. Chevy website. I had to explain this to Aaron several times as he kept referring to the numbers I entered as my “offer”. When he took a closer look at the details he then tried to explain that not all customers are eligible for the discounts listed on the website. When I asked where that was stated he could not provide an answer. He also told me that I would need to come to the dealership to complete the paperwork and pick up the vehicle. I explained to him that his website stated we have the option to complete the purchase online and have the vehicle delivered to us and that the sales person we had spoken to the previous day even told us he would be the one delivering the vehicle and we would sign the paperwork in our driveway. Aaron responded that could be done but there would be an additional charge to do that. Again, nowhere on the website does it state there is a charge for this service. Aaron had also stated that part of the difference in price was due to “dealer accessories” on the vehicle. He told me he would go to the vehicle and check on what accessories had been added and that I would have the option to have them removed if I didn’t want them. During our second phone call, after he had checked the vehicle, he brought up the dealer accessory charge (never mentioned what the accessories were). Fortunately we had taken a photo of the window sticker when we were on the lot the previous day and could see the list of the added accessories. I told Aaron I wasn’t interested in them and would like them removed. To this Aaron responded that it would cost $250 to remove the accessories and we would still have to pay for them since they were already paid for by the dealership. So instead of being able to remove them as promised during the earlier phone call now it would cost even more to have them removed. I understand that the accessories are door trim, window tint, and tire nitrogen, but I was told one thing during the first phone call and then told something completely different during the subsequent phone call. I was finally placed on the phone with another sales manager, Matt (never provided his last name), who continued to argue the price and discounts provided to me by their website. I told him all I wanted to do was purchase this truck, which I had confirmed was on the lot and available, for the price provided by their website which only allows me to enter cash down and finance terms. Everything else is automatically provided by their system. I understand that taxes are estimates and tag and title are added on and was agreeable to paying the additional $413.55 for those but I was not inclined to pay the additional $1900+ they were trying to add to the price offered on their website. Matt explained that there were disclaimers on the website stating that there could be additional charges. I told him I had seen no such disclaimers and asked him where they were. He responded that he was sure they are somewhere on the website but could not provide the exact location of this information. I have looked through the website for these disclaimers before clicking the submit button and since speaking with Matt and still cannot find them. So basically, I went onto the Dale Jr. website, completed their online purchase steps, entering only the cash down amount and finance terms, and clicked submit. I did not try to haggle the price of the vehicle down anymore than it was already advertised at because I thought that was a great deal. It apparently is a deal too good to be true because staff at Dale Jr. Chevy was not willing to honor the price provided by their website. At one point one of the staff (either Aaron or Matt, I can’t remember) even tried to place the blame on GM and how they set things up for their dealers. I don’t know who’s to blame but this experience has not only caused me to not want to deal with Dale Jr. Chevy but also to not want to purchase a Chevy at all. I have been a lifelong Chevy owner. I still own a 2005 Chevy van and have had several other Chevy vehicles over the years. I think I’ll be shopping Dodge or Ford instead. More
Dishonest dealership. Cars on website are not as they are listed. It is a bait and switch. We found a car online that we were interested in. Even though their website listed it as in Tallahassee we called a listed. It is a bait and switch. We found a car online that we were interested in. Even though their website listed it as in Tallahassee we called and asked to confirm the car was in Tallahassee and we could look at it. We made an appointment and went to the lot and the car was not there (it wasn’t ever in Tallahassee). Three days later, we called to look at another car and they did it again. We picked up on the game and realized their tactic was to get us on the lot and then offer to show us other vehicles. After talking to other people we learned this dealership is known for misrepresenting what is on the lot with their online listings. The same day we went to another dealership; their website listed the exact cars that were in their used car lot. Just not worth the game and run around Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet. More
