A brief aside will not be out of place here. I was recently at a different Honda dealer and couldn't believe that the manager there was rude in dealing with us. So when I had to buy a car for mysel recently at a different Honda dealer and couldn't believe that the manager there was rude in dealing with us. Saw a 2011 CR-V I wanted to test drive online, scheduled an appointment, and showed up on time. There were salesmen loitering around outside, on the stairs, and in the hallways of the dealership - it was a an appointment, and showed up on time. There were salesmen loitering around outside, on the stairs, and in the hallways of the dealership - it was a bit creepy. The salesman who was "assigned" to us was extremely direct. I could almost write a word-for-word transcript of our conversations "Do you have a trade-in?" "Turn left" "What, you don't have the physical license?" (I had given him a copy, which no other dealer has complained about before). Silence while he copied my information for the next five minutes. THEN we waited while he went to go get the keys for the car I was scheduled to test drive... and waited... when he returned, the first words out of his mouth were "Do you plan on buying today?" (Now, i don't know about you, but no car salesman has asked me that question WITHOUT showing me a car first) he continued: "Because the car is currently in the shop.... you see, our used cars need to go through an inspection before we sell them...." Yes, I know about that inspection - it's called certification in this case. And this particular car was listed as a Certified Used car. Which was obviously misleading and improperly represented in the online listing because the car hadn't even finished the prerequisite tests. So I scheduled a test-drive with a not-yet-certified "Certified" car (which was promised to be ready for me when I arrived), got to the dealership only to be barraged with direct, car-sale-only questions (at least other dealerships I went to attempted small talk), and the car I wanted to test was IN THE SHOP. He had asked if I could drive any 2011 CR-V, which I found ridiculous... I made an appointment to see one car, not just some random car. I left and am still unhappy about the experience. I will NEVER recommend DCH Honda - there are plenty of other Honda dealerships in the area which treat the customer like they give a xxxx. Even people I spoke to about the experience afterwards mentioned that DCH Honda has a reputation for terrible customer service... my mistake for not asking them before I stopped in. More
Whenever I decide to make a purchase for anything i always do my homework. I don't like to haggle or negotiate because I know what I want and what it's going for. DCH Honda has definitely exceeded my expectations! What started out as a horrible day, quickly managed to turn into a blessing in disguise. Despite my very impatient manor and short temper from a horrific morning, the staff of DCH Honda managed to meet my every car need. Initially, I found myself in the Honda service department on a Tuesday morning with a broken key. The broken key sparked the car alarm to go off, waking the neighbors as I struggled to turn it off, with the embarrassment of looking like I stole my own car! Not only was I running late for work, missing a very important meeting, but the thought of waiting amongst many people for my car to be serviced, was what I dreaded most. I arrived to DCH Honda, aggravated, but managed to keep a level head in explaining the issue at hand. This is where I was greeted by the very friendly staff who explained the entire process from start to finish and why each step in the process was essential. I was told the amount it would cost and told to sit in a waiting room of about 35 other people in need of service. The service was quick and the wait time was minimal! My day quickly changed once I was greeted by the Service Manager, Christopher Park. He explained, very detailed, the other areas my car needed work and took the time to address my many inquires I had regarding the processes. Chris is very courteous and efficient. I had other issues with my car including the driver side visor and TPMS. Chris and the DCH staff looked into both and found faulty issues, and they were able to be covered. I also won a free oil change off the scratch and win (which I needed). My day got better the moment I stepped into the DCH service department because that one key issue solved several others I had with my car. Chris and the entire staff were very patient, knowledgeable, and reliable. The entire process of service required another visit to Honda. Both visits were very quick and the service was done correctly. I have no complaints. Chris let me know when the parts arrived and helped set my appointment. My overall experience with DCH Honda was very different from my experiences with other Honda service departments I’ve gone to in the past. Those bad experiences from the past, almost stopped me from taking my car to Honda for service all together. On 10/2/13 when my wife and I came here to buy a car, we were undecided on whether to buy new or used. We were helped tremendously by Josh Ortiz who displayed great patience with us.
