Appointment ? Simple oil change, had appointment, quoted hour and half, 2 hours later, still waiting! Excellent service again. Had my Honda Accord in for service to fix an issue with the car starting. The service advisor (Nikolas Esposito) was courteous and helpful in explaining the work needed. Best of all, he worked with Honda Care to ensure the service was covered under warranty. And I didn't miss a beat as their waiting area was well equipped with a cubicle setup that allowed me to work from there while I wait. Fraudulent diagnostic to sell you unneeded parts and repairs They mislead me in order to get a higher fee for the diagnostic. They made fraudulent claims that I needed parts and repairs that I did not need. $1,800 for a new starter and alternator! I declined repairs, and brought it to another shop. My starter and alternator were fine. The cause was a rusted loose wire and a missing plug. ($300) They also "misplaced" my remote control from my key chain never to be seen again. After contacting them, and charging them with fraudulent activities, I was told that if I could prove the vehicle didn't require those parts to be fixed and I could send them the proof receipt from the other shop, I would receive a refund. I did, via e-mail I didn't hear back. I physically went back to the service department, where I was told by not one but two employees including the service manager that I would be getting a refund, and that they would try to also get the funds to replace my "lost" remote control ($59.95) Days later I got a phone call from that same service manager telling me that I would receive nothing. Completely untrustworthy and dishonest. More
Lesson learnt; I won't be going back to this dealership I have been taking my car to this dealership for my service needs, based on my prior pleasant car buying experience with them. Though there are other Honda dealerships closer to home, based on my experience over the the past 3 years, this had been my preferred dealer, but that changed following my last visit. The CR-V needed oil change and tire rotation (service minder B1). The service agent (mis)informed me that at 30K miles, the transmission fluid needs to be replaced. Having had no reason to disbelieve him, I consented. He then also told me that the rear differential fluid needs replacement and also, that one of my rear tires had a nail in the sidewall and needs replacement and recommended that I replace both the rear tires. I decided to hold off on these and asked him to skip those. Its been a few weeks and I am yet to find an evidence of that nail, by the way. When I got home that day, I checked the owner's manual, which says the transmission fluid needs to be replaced at 30K miles only if the vehicle is towed behind a motorhome. The following day the service agent sent me a text message asking if everything was satisfactory and if so, he would send me a survey. I responded, informing him it was not, what he told me was incorrect and that he should nevertheless send me the survey. When I did not get back a response, I sent another message re-iterating the same and yet, no response. Amanda from customer service left me a voicemail with a similar message, but I was unable to reach her, after calling a couple of times. I did not leave her a voice mail. What I have realized is from this experience is, the survey is sent only to those customers who do not have a complaint. Needless to say, lesson learnt; I am not going back there. And if I decide to buy another Honda vehicle in the future, it will be from a different dealership, based on this service experience. More
