I bought a car in 2004 from Paul when I had no clue what I was doing. My car just broke down and needed one ASAP for work. Paul made it a great experience and though I was leery of car salesman and wanted an Acura, I felt very comfortable. Over five years, we continue to recommend Paul to anyone who is looking to buy a car or Honda. Yesterday, my family was buying a car and we had a horrible experience at Open Road Honda in Edison. It was horrendous. They backed out of the signed contract and just treated us like we were just another person. I was not there but my family was upset. I immediately called Paul when I heard this and he stepped up to the plate like a true professional. He kept me on the phone for a half an hour while we went over some numbers and if he would be able to assist us. Within the next three hours, we were driving home in a new car with no hassles and a reassured feeling with the car. Paul always makes a note to call you on your birthday and to make sure your car is running great. He is an absolute professional and if anyone is reading this posting. I have purchased a number of cars in the last 30 years. Up until recently the experience was usually the same. Every thing would go great until price came up and then the fun would begin. By the time I left the dealership I was exhausted from all the haggling back and forth between me and the salesperson and their manager. 7 years ago this all changed. I walked into Academy Honda on Route 9 in Old Bridge NJ and met Paul Rittberg. Paul asked me what I wanted, searched his inventory for available cars, walked away for 5 minutes and came back with a price. He said he was giving me the best price he could and for some strange reason I believed him (note, I do not typically believe anyone unless they convincingly prove it). I and my family have purchased a total of five cars from Paul and each and every time he has been courteous, professional, funny and a pleasure to deal with. He has never pushed me to purchase anything more than I wanted and even has dissuaded me from buying accessories that weren't really needed.
