Horrible oil change experience I brought my 2004 Highlander in for routine oil change on 7/22/2019. Two days later my husband noticed oil leaking from vehicle. Returned to Darcars 7 I brought my 2004 Highlander in for routine oil change on 7/22/2019. Two days later my husband noticed oil leaking from vehicle. Returned to Darcars 7/24/2019 (same day I notice leak). After waiting 30 min informed by manager, Mehdi Keshti, that oil is leaking from drain plug that he admits was stripped by technician and because of this it couldn't be tightened. He then tells me I need a new oil pan at a cost of $806.18. I explained I don't know why I have to pay for your technician's mishap. My oil has only been changed by this dealership since I bought it in Dec 2003 and I've never had a problem until now. Mr Keshti goes on to tell me it happened because of wear and tear and my car is "15 yrs old and nothing last forever'. He further states that this is a problem they've been having with the Highlander. Now even the dumbest mechanic knows an oil drain plug only gets stripped because either it was over tightened, put in crooked or an impact was improperly used to tighten it and wear and tear have nothing to do with it. Further if plug couldn't be tightened 2 days after oil change, how was it tightened on day of oil change. Technician knew he stripped it then and said and did nothing about it. In the package of recommendations I received when I picked up my car on 7/22/19, not one mention of drain plug being stripped because of wear and tear. Fortunately this situation wasn't made worse as my car could have sustained significant damage if this oil leak had not been detected as early as it was. This tactic is very deceiful and dishonest and I wonder how many times has this happened to other unsuspecting customers. So anyone reading this BEWARE and make sure you check your vehicle for leaks after oil change and remember drain plugs can last life of vehicle and NEVER EVER get stripped because of "wear and tear". Service Center RIP Off I bought a Highlander almost year ago and was at your Service Center few months ago to do 5,000 miles service in which they rotate my tires. Once it I bought a Highlander almost year ago and was at your Service Center few months ago to do 5,000 miles service in which they rotate my tires. Once it was done I requested my wife to pick up the SUV. She brought home with trust that everything was performed correctly. Few weeks later we notice that one of the Tire lock of front passenger tire was missing, I took it to service center and ask them if something can be done since this seems like shop forgot to put it on when my car was there in service but I was told that they cannot do anything since its been few weeks now and i have to buy a whole new set. I paid $39.99 for the new set of Tire locks and it was put on. Now this time I was at your service center to get my 10,000 miles service. I was scheduled with Mr. Mahyar Abedi, who did a great job as a Service Advisor but once my car was done with 10,000 miles service, he showed me my paperwork and outlined items which were done in this service. I look at all the items and was happy that all these things were done. In that list it was stated that my Cabin Filter was also changed. I also requested to rotate my tires so I took Mr. Mahyar with me to my car to check and my tires were rotated. Once I open my glove box, I didn't see any of my items moved, which tells me that something is wrong and I requested that I would like to see my new Cabin Filter. Mr. Mahyar went inside and called the Technician who worked on my car and once he took out the filter we find out that it was never changed and Darcars lied that this service was performed. I approached to Mr, Mehandi ( I guess Manager) and first he bluntly said he is not sure but after looking at Technician Remarks in the Ticket and old Cabin Filter in my hand, he changed his statement. So in other words, if a customer doesn't pay attention Darcars is going to Rip OFF that customer specially If you don't know about the Car. Now I am not even sure if all the listed things were performed on my car or not even sure if my SUV oil was changed or not. I email Ethan Rossignol, one of their Manager right after the service was done (more than 3 weeks ago) and no one either call or reply to my email. So frustrated. More
Great car buying experience! We recently purchased a 2019 Toyota Rave 4 Hybrid from Darcars of Silver Spring. It was a great experience from start to finish. Never pushy and worke We recently purchased a 2019 Toyota Rave 4 Hybrid from Darcars of Silver Spring. It was a great experience from start to finish. Never pushy and worked with us to help get the car we wanted. A big shout out to Mr. Don Moore who went far and beyond to make this a smooth transition. He was extremely professional throughout the entire process. Also, Mr. Luis Garcia did a great job showing us the inventory of what they had and in the final purchase of the car. They allowed us to make the decision without being pushy. Once we made the decision, they put us in touch to do the paperwork with Cyril who handled this transition with a sense of knowledge and explanation of the different warranty packages. Aa a final note, do not believe the negative reviews that some people write, they are far from the truth. We will be purchasing our next car with Darcars. More
Couldn't get Title after paying! We bought a new Sienna here a few years ago and paid cash, walking out the door free and clear. But Darcars never sent us the title. Not only that but they mistakenly marked it as having a lien (loan) under the DMV. We never noticed this until we traded the vehicle in to a different Toyota dealership. In trying to solve this issue, I found it almost impossible to speak to someone who would take my call at Darcars. Most calls to a Finance Manager get you onto a long hold, and then hung up on by the phone system. Finally I reach them and they say I must call Toyota Motor Credit to have it released. This lead to another impossible phone system also and they eventually told me that they can't help because I never got a loan or needed credit from them. Then I found myself sitting in front of the Finance Director at the Toyota dealership I had traded the vehicle to. She is shocked by the ineptitude of Darcars and she tries to reach the Owner by phone. She told me to contact the Darcars GM. I left a message and the Darcars GM never returns my call. Can you imagine that you have paid for your new Toyota vehicle and they won't give you a title? Finally a finance person at Darcars answered and asked me to prove that Toyota Motors has a lien hold on the vehicle. More leg work for me! So on top of the 6 hours I have spent on this, I start paying DMV for records. I get them and Darcars apologizes. Then do they send me the title like they should have years ago? NO. They send me a letter saying "Toyota no longer have a security interest in the vehicle". Now it's off to the DMV to see if they accept such a letter. The Darcars rep today tried to separate himself from any errors the dealership made in the past. But his efforts to solve the problem were not in the customers best interest. He admitted such by saying that sending me the letter "accomplished the same thing" as sending a title. He had no understand that I paid for Darcars to provide a title and I don't want to spend a couple hours at the DMV seeing if this letter will even work. I asked if Darcars will be refunding the $53 I paid for a title or compensating me for current time and DMV costs and he said no. More
They drop the ball after you buy the car I bought a used car from this dealership over 40 days ago as an out of state resident. Since this time, I have been unable to register my car in my st I bought a used car from this dealership over 40 days ago as an out of state resident. Since this time, I have been unable to register my car in my state because this dealership has abandoned all paperwork as it relates to my car. They have been ignoring my calls and emails, and my bank's calls. On the few occassions when they have answered the phone, they've sent me to voicemail. No one has been able to explain why my titling and registration paperwork has not been completed. They have been extremely unprofessional and have made this process a nightmare for me. I will be charged late fees by my state for not registering my car within the 30 days allowed even though my state knows that I cannot do so because this dealership has failed to complete the paperwork. My temporary tag is expiring in two weeks. I need my car for work and am now facing the reality of not being able to drive my car because this dealership refuses to respond to this issue or even talk to me on the phone. They processed the check I gave them in TWO BUSINESS DAYS, but they are taking over 40 days to do all of the other paperwork. Awful dealership. Awful employees. I have filed a consumer complaint against this dealership as a result of this issue. DO NOT BUY A CAR HERE, IT'S NOT WORTH THE STRESS!! More

Another Pleasant visit for service I had issues with my check engine light and two other lights in the dash and took it in for service. They told me right away what needed to be done, I had issues with my check engine light and two other lights in the dash and took it in for service. They told me right away what needed to be done, the cost and how long it would take to complete. My car was ready when they promised and as always I am happy to take my car to this place for trustworthy service. More

When i took it here they claimed all was OK and handed me back my keys after doing nothing to fix the issues. They will not compensate or extend a warranty for the vehicle. Do not do business with these people. Sale, customer relations, service departments are all scammers. They do not actually do a certified Toyota inspection... they check the boxes and leave it up to you the customer to figure out why they sold you a bad vehicle. read the reviews, I'm not the only one saying this. After 189 days we got our tag. On September 4/2018, I and my brother in law purchased a Toyota Camry SE, 2018 year model with temporary tag number T684897 from Dar cars Toyota deale On September 4/2018, I and my brother in law purchased a Toyota Camry SE, 2018 year model with temporary tag number T684897 from Dar cars Toyota dealership Silver Spring located @ 12210 Cherry Hill Rd, Silver Spring, Maryland 20904. Since the date of purchase we had to wait until March 12/2019 (more than six months) to get our tag. During this time, we expressed our concern to the manager in written and didn’t reply. Besides our repeated phone calls, we had to be late for work at times or took of days to visit the dealership in person to resolve the issue. Not only that, we were required also to renew our residential parking permit from police station monthly for six months to avoid ticket. There was a time I believe was Dec.3rd./2018 that we were unable to get even temporary tag. The only choice we had was to leave the car in the premise. I got a phone call from the finance officer Mr. and gave warning he is going to tow the car without temporary tag from the dealership and damp it in the street where I live. Dec.7/2018, at 3:04 pm. I received a call from the staff member Mr. Rahim and informed me that we are not supposed to live the car in the dealership and warned he is going to tow the car and bring it on the streets of my residential area without a tag. Adding insult to injury, the parking spot in the dealership was more important than the customers suffering. While we attempt to solve the problem with the dealership, we wrote a letter of complaint to the state of Maryland consumer regulation. Besides the lost wages, the suffering we encountered to transport kids to school and vice versa during the cold winter, the delays and off days affected our work performance, gas expense every time we visit the company, and especially the psychological trauma we encountered to avoid ticket was far beyond expression. They are the worst dealership I ever seen in my life and they don’t even attempt to apologize for their bad customer service and compensate the loss. More
